I don't have an allegiance to one system over the other, I have them both. But what constantly irritates me is the perception of Jim Ryan as the scourge of gaming and Phil Spencer as a cool, gaming messiah.

They are both business men; they will do what is in the interests of their shareholders first and foremost. The only difference is that Phil Spencer is better with the media, but honestly this matey facade and positioning that they want what is best for gamers just comes across as disingenuous.

Wowzers, awesome update, genuinely about 5 games there I'm keen to try out. Just hope I have time for them!

I love Bloodborne and keen to give this a try, and yet... I can just see it being underwhelming. I love the Fromsoft games and none of the imitators have held my interest. But maybe this will be different...

Looks good, but with only a little bit of tinkering you can get a Steam Deck to do the same thing, plus a whole lot more. And it being Sony, I can't see it costing much less than a base Steam Deck...

The deep bass of the ps1 start up still gets me. With that one note, the PlayStation seemed to announce "Video Games aren't just for kids anymore"

Personally, I'm having a blast with it, not seeing many performance issues at all after the patch, although playing quality mode on with vrr so don't know if that makes a difference.

I definitely fall into the enthusiast camp - I have all the current gen consoles (and a Steam Deck) and I've got PS Plus Premium and Gamepass, and when I first got GP I really thought it was amazing. But as time has gone on I've realised it doesn't matter if I have unlimited games, I haven't got unlimited time, and all the subs are doing is growing my pile of shame. I've come to accept that I only have time for games I really want to play, and in those instances I'll want to play them when they first release. I have 30 odd games installed, Jedi Survivor arrived today and I know which one I'll be playing over the weekend

I've got Gamepass, so nothing much for me. And for some reason I just can't get into Bethesda games

My expectations are super low, I expect/hope for a showcase by the summer so I expect the megatons to drop then

@SolaceCreed I'm not saying that means everyone should like it, and I totally agree that everybody liking the same thing would be bloody boring. I'm not even saying you're wrong to say you don't like Phoebe WB, because obviously you're not as it's your opinion (I myself thought Fleabag was alright but by no means part of her fanclub).

My only point was you shouldn't dismiss awards as worthless because you disagree with them because, by and large, it is not random people on a panel who vote for but people who make TV and film who generally know what is objectively well made

Much as when it was announced Craig Mazin was involved in TLOU, this is a good omen. The talent of those making it is a far better indicator of whether an adaptation will be worth a look than the game itself

@SolaceCreed it's fine if you don't personally like her, but this narrative that awards have no worth really is tiresome. Yes, there is some questionable back scratching involved, and they don't always get it right, but they're not worthless and it's incredibly rare that multiple outlets all get it wrong. They are voted by industry professionals who know what they are talking about far more than randoms on the Internet.

If this runs decent enough on Steam Deck (obviously at low graphical settings), I'll be double dipping. Incredible game, my favourite on PS5

In all honesty, I actually ended up quite liking the game, but only once I had lowered the difficulty down to easy. The combat is far too frustrating and the game isn't good enough for me to bother persevere at the higher difficulty

If they can get it stable enough to run on the Deck, then I'm ready to double dip. Definitely my game of the gen so far

Days Gone is just plain dull I've tried getting into it around 3 times, and never encountered any technical issues or recall any instances where the main character checks out anyone's ass, so it must just be the boring characters (Deacon St John being the worst), gameplay seen and done better countless of other places, and just plain generic nature of the game as a whole

I absolutely love Elden Ring, but I won't be touching this with a barge pole! I'm already fully aware that I managed to complete the game by over-levelling and spamming summons!

I bought it, would have waited but have a couple of days in the house by myself and wanted a new game. I've been slightly put off by the reviews and thought about returning it, but decided to give it a crack anyway!

It always seemed like an odd fit. Sackboy is perfect for local MP, which isn't a PC strength. It boggles the mind why Sony chose it to port rather than, oh I don't know... just thinking off the top of my head... BLOODY BLOODBORNE!!

Far outstripped my expectations. Far better than the Nintendo Direct, I think I was at last somewhat interested in everything on show, and the final 3 of project eve, Robin and then GOW, wow. Sony are really starting to nail these SOPs

As much as I love Uncharted and TLOU (currently going through Part 1!) I would love to see ND turn their hand to something a little less grounded again. Hope this is accurate

I'd love it if PS showed us much enthusiasm in making new games for its classic IPs as it does making them into movies

As much as I wouldn't say no to a few bob in the event this was actually successful, the suit itself sounds pretty farcical

Sony are making great strides with Extra, really competing with Gamepass, but unfortunately with the spectacular way they have dropped the ball with Premium that good will frankly counts for naught

I've just started to get into the Harley Quinn animated series, having never been overly fussed about any of the DC stuff, and it is an absolute joy, best adult animation I've seen in years. I'll be absolutely gutted if they cancel it, and would highly recommend it

Seems like the writing is on the wall. Square don't really do much that interest me (the stuff that does mostly all went in the Embracer deal), but it seems like it would be a good get nonetheless

8/10. My son and I have spent the majority of the day playing it through together today and we're loving it. It's the first time we've really played a new game together. I can't see me playing it through another time (although he might), but I'm loving my time with it

I've got a brand spanking new OLED TV arriving next week, so I'm putting off a lot of stuff until I get it. So probably just a bit of FIFA, or maybe properly starting Dark Souls 3 (the last of the Fromsoft Souls games I've got left to play)

Really pleasantly surprised to see Stray confirmed as day 1 for ps plus too. Nice to see Sony taking the new service seriously with some day 1 releases, even if they've committed to not putting first party stuff on there day 1

My expectations were very low, but for once they were not only met but exceeded, it really feels like they're finally starting to nail this format. I was hoping for Alyx and, as always, something Bloodborne related but that was always going to be pie in the sky

I've just finished Elden Ring and feel in a bit of a malaise, I've got a bunch stuff in my backlog but nothing is really appealing so will probably just stay casual this weekend with a bit of FIFA
