Re: Elden Ring Sold More Than 13.4 Million Copies in Its First Five Weeks

PapaGlitch

An amazing game. I have a short attention span and tend to be urging a game I'm playing to finish as I'm keen to start the next one. Elden Ring is the first time I can remember dreading the ending. I know I'm in the endgame but just don't want it to end. I've never done a NG+ before, but I am sorely tempted, even though I have Horizon and a bunch of other games waiting to be started. Early days, but it will take some doing for this to be anything other than game of the generation for me, utterly sublime

Re: Persona 5 Leaves PS Plus Collection in May for Unknown Reasons

PapaGlitch

Damn, I've been meaning to give this a go at some point. I generally give anything anime wide berth but I've heard it's good. Can't imagine I'll touch it within the next month though.

This will help fuel the flames of certain sections of the fan base who believe MS are buying Sega, despite the fact that Fallout 4 is still on there!

Re: Reaction: Sony's Biggest Problem Is Consumer Relations

PapaGlitch

This is absolutely true, and I really think it is what could lose Sony its place in the market. In all honesty, the biggest problem PSNOW really had was perception - besides the day one exclusives the selection wasn't a million miles away from Gamepass but the difference is MS threw their weight behind GP and clearly communicate it and it's benefits, as well as a concerted effort to get people on board with enticing promotions and early deals. By contrast, there is still a sizeable contingent of people who still think PSNOW is purely a streaming service.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 419

PapaGlitch

More Elden Ring, with a smattering of Horizon FW. Only just started both, and a chest in Elden Ring just teleported me to some sort of crystal maze I suspect I'm dramatically under levelled for, with centipede buggers firing at me, so I'm hoping to be able to make it out of there with all my limbs still in place

Re: Elden Ring Patch 1.03 Out Now, Get All the Patch Notes Here

PapaGlitch

@LN78 at least you don't buy them day one and then don't even get round to playing them until months later because you're already in the middle of a game. I bought this and Horizon day one and by the time I actually get round to them I'm sure they'll both be £10-£20 cheaper. But I'll never learn 😕

Re: Best The Simpsons Games

PapaGlitch

I only ever played one of these... Simpsons Wrestling. Even though even at the time I knew in my heart it was crap, I've got some fond memories of it

Re: Roblox Job Listing Suggests It's Finally Coming to PlayStation

PapaGlitch

@DrClayman Ah I see, I didn't realise that they make a point of suggesting players can actually make money from the game. Yeah, that is pretty scummy then, and is at odds with what LBP and Dreams do, which is much more in the spirit of just a big playground to make things and share with other users. I'm pretty sure there are no suggestions of monetising creations at all in those games, either on the part of the players or the game itself

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Breaks Silence with Stream on 15th February

PapaGlitch

I have been hankering to finally start cyberpunk recently, but holding out on the next gen version so hope it's this. That said, between Horizon, Elden Ring, buying Kena and Uncharted collection last week on a whim and finally getting into Dark Souls 2, I think I'm good for games for a while...

Re: GTA 3 Remaster Will Be Playable As Part of PS Now

PapaGlitch

@Yomogi if Switch got Vice City (as part of the expansion for their online service) then I'd be able to play the whole thing across 3 different consoles! As you say though it's unlikely, which is a shame as VC is the only one I'd I'm really interested in!

Re: PS Plus November 2021 Lineup Will Include Three Bonus PSVR Games

PapaGlitch

@themightyant Same. I actually tried it at an event and was completely blown away with the shark demo and ordered one there and then. Unfortunately, the shark demo was about the only thing I could play on it. I kept trying to persevere with it but couldn't manage to keep the sickness at bay, and eventually sold it to my nephew. It's such a shame because when by body could take it, it was an unbelievable achievement, and I really hope advances in tech can help. But as you said, I am skeptical

Re: Rumour: PS Now Adds The Last of Us 2, Fallout 76, and Final Fantasy VIII

PapaGlitch

Now my question is, will I be able to take advantage of the patch that allows it to run at 60fps on PS5? Seeing as Now doesn't yet support PS5 games, yet this isn't a native PS5 game...

Regardless, hopefully it is a permanent addition. I wouldn't mind playing through again, but probably not so soon after finishing it the first time around...

Re: Reaction: Sony Has Quietly But Confidently Grown Its First-Party Lineup

PapaGlitch

For a while it looked like the industry was heading towards a sort of hegemony, where you could play any games anywhere. However, it feels like this generation more than any other will be the generation where exclusives are the kingmakers. I'm glad to have all 3 consoles, for the first in fact, but feel for those who can't as whichever you choose it feels like you'll miss out on a massive amount for the next few years.

The only exception seems to be PC - perhaps the savviest thing would be to just get a PC and Switch. Unfortunately, I really can't stand playing on PC!

Re: Demon's Souls PS5 Has Sold More Than 1.4 Million Copies to Date

PapaGlitch

Marvellous game. By far the games I've spent the must time on with my PS5 has been this, a replay of Bloodborne (finally doing the DLC) and Returnal, which I just made significant progress with after months of banging my head against the brick wall of biome 3. After I'm thinking of having a crack at Dark Souls 3 or Nioh.

All in all PS5 has turned into my console of choice for ball busting difficulty! Surprised my controller has lasted this long

Re: Netflix Buys Oxenfree Developer Night School Studio

PapaGlitch

@nessisonett perhaps, but on the other side of the coin the streaming wars have been a wonder for the TV production industry. I'm an editor and there is a glut of work out there for quality drama. So, it may not be perfect for consumers, but streaming wars could be boon for video game production and those who work in it. Hopefully it would equate to better working conditions as talent becomes more scarce
