Re: Big Yakuza Kiwami 3 Demo Beats Down PS5 Tomorrow

Much better feel in combat than the original which I couldn't stand for more than 10 minutes, although I did not like the weapon combat style they gave to Kiryu. Just felt off putting and would have much preferred something similar to Yakuza 0's combat styles.

@DennisReynolds I really didn't enjoy DS2 as much as the first one. It's too easy(And Im playing on the "hardest" difficulty btw), a lot of the mystery is taken away by someone explaining, and then the cool looking natural disasters just happen once and never again.

@DennisReynolds Agreed, pretty much by the time you get to the second small area you've by boat you've mostly seen it all. Even then I am still enjoying the improvements to exploration and not having stupid question marks on the map.

@DennisReynolds While I think the exploration is an improvement over Tsushima it definitely still has a bit of Ubi style formula in there like why make the wolf a "skill tree." I felt like that could have been a dynamic interaction.

@iNightfarer "Great reviews do not equal a good game. Go play Silent Hill 1, Silent Hill 2, Silent Hill 3, Silent Hill 4: The Room, and Silent Hill 2 Remake, and then play this abomination. 'It has no ties to the franchise whatsoever despite sharing similar themes.'"

Oh buddy... tell me you haven't played the game without telling me you haven't played the game. I've played the main 4 games and SHf is a great addition to the franchise despite being a spin off.

Re: Game of the Year: Liam's Top 5 PS5 Games of 2025

DS2 just disappointed me tbh, it's whole "dynamic natural disasters" that aren't earthquakes and "floods"(That barely affect the way you play anyways) are scripted moments that happen once and never again so a lot of it feels like more of the same. Not to mention the gameplay felt even more easy compared to the first game and that's with me playing on the hardest difficulty. Also I really dislike how a lot of the game's mystery is completely gone because you have every character explaining everything.

@PerpetualBoredom I understand where you're coming from and while I think it could certainly benefit from having voice actors for the vendors I don't think it makes the game suffer too bad.

This game is a lot of fun and they gave out a free raider deck so Im grinding my ass off for that. Although while the audio is great I've never felt that impressed by it due to Arc Raiders' chaotic nature. Hunt Showdown's audio is still the best in the business for me. Being able to determine where someone is and what you can do based off of someone crouchwalking or pulling out their weapon is what makes the best out of any other game.
