A Month After PS5 Performance Update, The Division: Definitive Edition Leaks 1

You may recall prior to Christmas, the team at Ubisoft updated 2016’s The Division to run at 60fps on PS5.

It’s not unusual for the French publisher to support its software years after release, but we thought this was a particularly nice touch from the firm, considering the age of its New York-based looter shooter.

But now, a banner has been spotted in Japan referring to The Division: Definitive Edition. This coincides with some kind of Ubisoft sponsored e-sports competition in Shinjuku, Tokyo this week.

To be honest, we’re not sure why the company would release a Definitive Edition of The Division, considering it’s still supporting its sequel with new content – and especially when it just released a backwards compatibility patch for the original.

Perhaps it’s a port to another platform, like the Switch 2? That would make sense given the Japanese audience, we suppose.

We’ll continue to monitor this regardless, and we’ll update when we get clarification of exactly what’s going on here.
