The abundance of Dragon Quest lately is a joy to see, but even though we’re really looking forward to Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake later this year, it’s Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined which we’re eyeing with real anticipation.
The PS1 original, despite being unfathomably long, is one of the better JRPGs on a system absolutely bursting with them – and while it’s proven divisive, we personally adore the doll-like take on Akira Toriyama’s iconic art.

It looks gorgeous – the overworld map is like a diorama brought to life, while the battles are filled with character.
The publisher also talked a little about its controversial decision to “streamline” the game.
It explained that it’s removed some of the original’s more “redundant” content, like backtracking, to reduce irritation and speed up the flow of the campaign. That’s not a bad thing, in our opinion.
What do you think of this new Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined footage? Remember, the game is releasing on 5th February, so it’s actually not that far away at all. Will you be pre-ordering this one?
