This new gameplay trailer for Castlevania: Belmont's Curse may be somewhat short, but boy does it sell the series' big revival.
Still set for a PS5 release at some point this year, the title's looking supremely sharp. A gorgeous art direction combines with silky smooth animation work and what seems to be satisfyingly impactful combat.
Purely based on this fresh footage, you honestly couldn't ask for much more.
The official press release goes into a little more detail, promising some of the most versatile whip action in franchise history: "The iconic whip of the series is now more important than ever! Crack your whip to move around freely like a trapeze artist! Master the whip mechanics and be creative to pounce on your prey like a wolf in fast-paced combat!"

Developer Motion Twin — of Dead Cells fame — says that this is revival is "true to the roots of the series", and as such, it'll be packed with "many secret chambers", "numerous hidden items", and "challenging areas".
