Jesus isn't this a trend with them where you can't play the damn game you paid for. Pretty unacceptable for such a large outfit like EA. I'd be pissed if I paid for a product that was unusable for long stretches of time.
As one who plays every soulslike available, I really put effort into getting through this one but it just cane off as overrated. The level and encounter design along with a visual design of those areas was pretty terrible. The combat system was decent but couldn't save how awful it was to traverse.
Heck yes. Part of me wishes they would have stuck to their original intent and left this IP as a one off and moved onto something new with the knowledge and success gained via development of e33. As it really is better as a one off story.
They immediately shifted course on this after it's success. As welcome as these new additions are great but I almost hope that these additions to the original is all they meant.
Looking forward to playing Alan Wake. It's when I just couldn't bring myself to buy simply because it was so downgraded on console but I will absolutely give it a go via ps plus. Cocoon will be another one I put into my backlog and probably never play 🤣
One of the biggest games of 2026 is a marvel ip fighting game. Lmfao suuuuure. It's just the games media machine hyping this along with a few enthusiasts and marvel stans. It's just another fighting game. No matter the coat of paint there is only so much you can do in a 2 dimensional space in this genre. They all end up playing relatively the same and imo get boring equally as well.
To play this up like some new, unique, universally sought after mega release though, cmon now.
It's not the stories that feel samey for me. It's the lack of creativity in favor of very iterative sequels or remasterakes that for some reason still require huge budgets and minimum 4 year Dev times to produce that which re-uses so much.
Quality is there but it's starting to feel very uninspired and it shows when you play them and get that feeling that you've done this all before. Knowing the talented studios they have/had, it can be underwhelming to see the majority them playing it so safe rather than creating bold innovative new experiences on different scales that result in a more diverse portfolio of games on offer.
@Max_the_German 10000%
Well put.sadly Saros looks to be housmarque falling in line as well. Don't get me wrong I adore returnal2. But don't pretend it's anything but a sequel, in brown lol.
? While I do think Sony is completely blowing it in terms of gamer centric sentiment this generation as well as where they chose to invest their Studios and revrnue in.....The idea that they're blowing it from a business sense is absurd.
This schill is just clearly advertising for nonsensical Ai pipe deams to influence investors. In terms of cloud gaming that is literally already been tried and failed several times from even non-gaming Centric platforms. There are too many variables that make streaming still an outlier. Sure it could work for the "games" that are structured on live service predatory nonsense however for True AAA and AA games it's a sacrifice in many aspects to cloud game.
"The AI is the future that is going to save the world and make many rich," nonsense is just that. in fact it's primary use is just going to be another means to enslave us, take jobs, and homogenize anything it touches.
@Papasears1982 I know. part of me is cautiously optimistic that one day the majority of the human population will wake up from their Madness but s*** like this just doesn't bode well....
I remember hearing about this yesterday. Why the f*** would they remake the game that turned out to be such a disappointment LOL. The remastering Remake thing is getting out of hand.
@KundaliniRising333 hilarious in a bad way for sure. Or imagine if those rumors a few years back turned out to be true and it was friggin Harry Potter as the new wolverine. 🤣
@LiamCroft does it still have generic enemy encampment clearing like the original? I don't ask to jest. I'm genuinely curious if they went with that same structure.
"Ghost of Yotei is not the kind of game that will turn detractors of its predecessor into converts"
It's the side activities that turned the first stale in the end. It sounds like it's more of the same on that front unfortunately. Which were outdated and unrewarding in the first. You read through a bunch of reviews and becomes clear this sequel doesn't address the side content issues and does devolve into repetitive checklist like open world fodder hidden behind the veil of the wind gimmick. Which imo has long since been played out.
The most insane thing to read in these comment sections is Gamers running defense for a company raking in record profits yet justify price gouging, double dipping, homogenization and over monetization inflicted upon themselves..... And applaud the company for it no less.
Soooo much filler. Reternal 2 is what it is and will be fun to play but looked like the same hollow environmental design. Wolverine definitely looked 'Spiderman insomniacified', with blood, so that could go either way. Sony is literally just collecting marketing checks by putting on these mediocre trailer fests.
The format is so corporate and sterile as well.
They really need to pivot into a new pr operation strategy. This ain't it.
I absolutely loved and played the hell out of reternal. However when you tease a new game from a studio that doesn't usually make sequels, it's kind of misleading to come to find out it's just basically returnal2 with a different title and lore but overall the same game play and hollow gamey World design.
The game was solid but because Ubisoft was involved it's packed so full of icon chasing far cry like bloat that it gets stale long before it's over.
It's comical at this point how little Ubisoft has refined that same tired formula in nearly two decades. So much potential overlooked in the mess of formulaic large outfit business model driven decision making.
Neither are even close to a good deal or fairly priced.
Between the likely cost of a ps6 and a current mid range pc that already is more powerful than it will be, It's a no Brainer to save for a pc. Especially after this gens first party efforts.
Jesus, the 60 fps mode can drop to half that after a few hours play. Even aside from the memory leak the game dips into 40s even on pro, which shows that the cpu is just too dated and more glaring an upgrade omission for "pro." The 30fps mode is far less nerfed on all consoles.
Pretty ridiculous. Rather than wait and address it they just held back review code lol. Pretty hilarious that they moved up the release date and pitchfork said consoles ran buttery smooth prior to launch.
Intentional deception Ala cyberpunk all over again.
I think it's time to move on from this. It was a decent game at the time but from soft has evolved their mechanics since then and a lot of other games have improved upon what bloodborne was unique for gameplay mechanic wise.
I would much rather see fromsoft break out with something new and different or even maybe reboot kingsfield because Valor mortis made me realize there really isn't any legit first person sold likes and in truth kingsfield is where it all started.
@Rich33 100% agreed. And the fact of the matter is 2 to $5,000 PCS are having performance problems with this s*** as well. I don't think this is necc a ue5 problem. this is a development problem. It's also interesting to note like when you take a game with the visual Fidelity of something like this game and compare it to like fortnite both have online capability both are not pushing graphical boundaries/photo realism by any means and yet that game runs buttery smooth 60fps much of the time even on console with 50-100 players in a match and uses almost all of ue5s toolkit features with little blur and a decent rez....
Not entirely comparable but when you realize how open world streaming in works then you know that most of the s*** is not present until you're within a certain lod.
I do think that we need reviewers to start taking into account performance just like youTubers do. With the caveat that returning and re-reviewing a title if the performance ever gets fixed is standard practice. This game shouldn't be getting more than a five or six based on what I'm seeing the console performance is.
A clear message needs to be sent to these AAA Developers in terms of releasing these games broken at launch. They all think they can pull off a cyberpunk story arc. Yet what they're forgetting is cybersunk still sold double-digit Millions in its first few months these idiots are losing sales in the hopes that maybe they'll get additional players when the game is by that time on discount or a sub service it's f****** ridiculous.
the people that buy and early adopt this s*** or even run defense/minimize it are only condoning their own belittlement as a gamer, and welcoming more of the same in the future. The only way the message will be heard is if review sites start truly taking into account performance and thus affecting these large outfits bottom line.
It makes sense I mean if you've played any online competitive game at all in the last two decades or so that you realize the cheating is absolutely insane from the PC crowd so I understand why people get upset when they have to contend with people that have mouse aim and are cheating it's absolute b*******. These nerdlets and streamers ruin the fun posing with that *****.
The aim assist argument in terms of console is nonsense by the way. it's literally b*******. The advantage you get using a mouse to aim is not even close to parody with console not even with lackluster aim assist. Not to mention macros and other ways to get a competitive advantage used on pc. That's why the aim assist is even implemented is because even the developers of these games no damn well that there isn't an even playing field.
However it's the cheating that's really ruined almost all online shooters. There's an entire industry around it at this point so even the Developers have Financial incentive not to truly address it. Fortnite is a great example as hokey as the game is. There are dozens of competitive and streamer folk that are literally lifted up and promoted by epic that are quite obviously cheaters not all of them but a lot of them.
