Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered (PS5) - The Largely Fantastic Revival of a Landmark RPG

KundaliniRising333

A 6/7 out of ten feels about right. It's just so dated in nearly every aspect by today's standards. The glow up does nothing to address that, nor does it address the greatest probable the game has that practically breaks all progression: the enemy level scaling. In an RPG, this is just a huge downer and completely removes the power fantasy and hinders most of its rpg mechanics. For those of you playing on adept or higher, that want to discount this, get to level 23 or higher and go visit the first available dungeon in the game. Lol

It looks great but the dungeons are very repetitive and the quests pretty terrible by today's standards. It was great for its time, but to give it a high rating in our time would be crazy and extremely biased. Couple that with the less than ideal performance, it's just a bit underwhelming for the asking price when the nostalgia wears off.

Re: State of Play Set for Wednesday, 20 Minutes of Borderlands 4 Gameplay

KundaliniRising333

Potentially leaving more space for GTA? Nahhh the yotei release date suggests gta isn't coming this year after all, or at very least not until Nov/Dec.

I suspect this release date change is to address the stupid decision to set the Marathon release date the same day as Borderlands 4...

A state of play that is essentially a 20 min paid ad for Borderlands 4? Lol. Is this what the people want Sony?

Re: Elden Ring Sells 30 Million Units, and It's Still Not Done Yet

KundaliniRising333

@DennisReynolds I guess technically you are right. I pretty much lump all multi-player games into that camp Now. So I admit that's a bit reductive on my part. However the days of true multi-player offerings in the vein of like Socom are dead. they are now all created with the intent to be monetized as indefinitely as possible. If you think Fromsoft isn't hoping to do the same with nightreign if it takes, off, sadly I think you Wil be disappointed. However I don't think this one will have long legs in terms of a large player base.

It's not what we want from FS. Sony is learning the same hard lessons chasing the same at the expense of their premier single player studios.

Re: Days Gone Remastered (PS5) - The Definitive Version of a True Fan-Favourite

KundaliniRising333

@lazarus11 I'd argue this game isn't for men either. More targeting something like teenage boys, mentally that is.

I did a bit of time in prison during my vigilante days and can tell you the same level of cringe in there is evident in this game. When you get to know the underlying depth of those persons you realize what you are dealing with beneath the act: scared insecure souls compensating via pretending to be the extreme opposite...

Sadly that same mentality is prevalent throughout much of the population in my country including leadership figures...

Re: Days Gone Remastered (PS5) - The Definitive Version of a True Fan-Favourite

KundaliniRising333

Despite the mediocrity of the characters and writing, the game was OK. A solid 6-7 with a ton of potential. Had they better refined it on the editing floor and not gone the route of douche stereotype murica storytelling through those characters, it would have been a solid 8 or more for me.

Setting all of that aside though this remaster is completely pointless when you compare it to the ps4 version played on Ps5. It's also quite clear that the lighting looks worse and actually affects the art style of the game with the choices they've made in my opinion in a negative way. Aside from that, it's almost indistinguishable in terms of it being an actual upgrade. So I get why it seems fine to waste 10 bucks on a nothing upgrade, as it's a low entry point; but man do not spend full price for what they're asking for this. This is the definition of what we've been talking about with needless cash grab double dipping.

And sometimes you really got to look at what they're doing here regardless of whether or not you like the game. Because they're getting a huge influx of cash even with a small upgrade fee depending on adoption, with far less investment to get it.

So from purely a business perspective if you continue to condone this with your wallet or defend this just to fit in online or stay on brand with platform Allegiance rhetoric, even if it seems like a small investment for you they are going to continue to do it and put less and less effort into these projects if they see folks continue to buy the ones like this of which very little effort was put into.

Re: Ghost of Yotei Has the 'Biggest Map' and 'Greatest Freedom' of Any Sucker Punch Game

KundaliniRising333

Not sure I want a bigger map if the incentive to explore is largely guided by cosmetic garbage. I really hope they don't just do the safe, by the exact same numbers sequel formula that most Sony studios have been stuck in for over a decade.

Only make the game bigger if you improve and expand what the original offered in rewarding to the game and player ways. Don't just go bigger via size and bloat.
certainly don't boast about it if you just populated a bigger space with filler.

I genuinely hope they improved on the firsts side content shortcomings. We don't need this franchise any closer to a Ubisoft open world game...However this whole bigger map and non linear design thing literally sounds like every modern day AC game. 😔

Re: Not Everyone Loved Oblivion Remastered's Shadow Drop

KundaliniRising333

Only takes like a half scroll of the Twitter comment section to remember why I don't use it and how much a cesspool it is.

Bottom line, it was absolutely a dick move to shadow drop this for two reasons. One, the things mentioned in the article, but secondly because bgs and virtuous Knew this game ran like hot garbage, which would suggest this shadow drop was likely intentional to cover up that fact that would come through in reviews, so they could still gobble up the full price for what is clearly a technical mess, and still left with most of the originals shortcomings unaddressed.

Remember too, microsft/Bethesda knew that ex 33 had a gamepass deal and such the release date, so the fact that they knowingly shadow dropped on gamepass as well, is just really bizarre. I'd be pissed as Sandstorm having signed that GP deal and then had that happen from an entity owned by the GP platform holder....

A lot of folks would have waited with its asking price, had they known how poor the performance was, and how little of the original game was modernized or fixed. Nostalgia aside, Feels like an AI led effort for the most part aside from some minor adjustments. The difficulty settings are broken and the level scaling still essentially ruins the entire loot and progression loop.

Glad I am privledged enough to support Clair obscure as well and regret paying fp for oblivion. However others can't afford to drop that much for both in such a proximity to one another. Ex33 deserves the asking price for their effort.

Re: Oblivion Remastered Tops 4 Million Players in Just a Few Days

KundaliniRising333

@naruball "What they really mean is, I don't want remaster for x, y, and z game, so they shouldn't happen in the first place. Any game I do like is allowed to have a remaster, though."

pretty reductive man.
Take a side by side of days gone and it's remaster and compare that to a side by side of oblivion and it's remaster. Spoiler alert, one of those two has almost zero discernible difference.

Pretty obvious why so many are tired of the cash grabs and yet remasters/remakes of things like oblivion and resident evil are applauded.

Re: Site News: Where's Our Days Gone Remastered PS5 Review?

KundaliniRising333

Who cares. This cash grab isn't worth reviewing entirely all over again. It's the exact same game. It was an OK tlou2 asset flip in its time with garbage characters and writing. The hordes were cool, but the open world was extremely formulaic.

The "upgrades" are so minor they are barely noticeable aside from night being darker. Just review the horde mode thing they added and call it a day. I really wish Sony and Co would stop these double dip re-releases of games that didn't need it. It's getting pretty sad to watch given the trajectory Sony took this generation as it enters its twilight.

Re: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Already Surpassed 500,000 Sales Despite Oblivion Launch

KundaliniRising333

Bought it day one to show support. Hopefully have time to start it up soon.

when you see something of this quality put out by a 30-team Indie Dev as their debut title in 5 years it really puts into perspective how ridiculously bloated and boardroom driven much of the Triple A output has become. It's becoming more and more clear that budgets are being abused or at the very least simply wasted and dev times drug out. Only to release generic iterative sequels that aren't even technically polished. or they don't release much of anything aside from the cash grab remake trend (last of us, days gone, hzd).

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Indiana Jones and the Great Circle?

KundaliniRising333

Still sitting in my game room unopened lol. Been a bit busy. Now I'm stuck between being midway into a backlog game and having bought oblivion, Clair obscure, and Indy and have only played like 3 hrs of oblivion just yet and not yet started the latter two.

Likely going to drop everything and focus on expedition 33. not only does it sound amazing, it frankly makes games from these bloated budget AAA/blockbuster outfits just disgusting in spending so much, taking so long to make, and asking $20 more from the gamer for what is clearly an inferior product. (ex 33 was in dev for 5 years, developed by 30ish people, and is asking $50usd because the devs wanted the game to be more accessible to a wider audience.....).

Life is so hard with these Leaves in the pool problems...

Re: Ghost of Yotei Gets PS5 Release Date, Trailer, Pre-Order Details

KundaliniRising333

Weird choice. The storyline being suggested here is very modern day assassins creed. Kind of disappointed it's just another 'check the several dramatically named villains off your list' revenge story.

Whole I enjoyed Tsushima, I felt it was highly overrated in the sense that it was a revelation in the genre. The cosmetic only incentive for most of its exploration was a real low point. The idea the exploration was less driven by icons was also more a gimmick, and the map was still riddled with icons to chase as the fog of war lifted. There were some aspects of tsushima that could use improvement in a sequel. However, I worry if Horizon, Uncharted, and even modern day GOW is anything to go on, sucker punch will likely be guided to merely double down on formulaic mimicry than do so. Which is an idea rooted in a boardroom: that one must copy the exact same formula to ensure the same success(profits), ignoring obvious room for improvement.

All that aside, It was still better the the Ubisoft open world formula merely based on combat and presentation alone.

However this story trailer felt very Ubisoft.
Also, you would have to be one hell of a gullible mark to pay for some overpriced collectors edition full of cheap memorabilia, yet no physical edition of a single player game... Although I feel like Sony has been largely doing this for a while now.

Re: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 (PS5) - Daring, Quirky RPG Is an Absolute Must-Play

KundaliniRising333

Looking forward to this one. I'll be picking this up even though I won't play it right away just to support the devs, and send the message to the greedy publishers/shareholder overlords, that this is what we want.

Makes triple AAA devs, including the formulaic Sony slop, look like the work of lazy amateurs. Roughly a 30 person team made this in 4-5 years...

Congrats to Sandstorm. Sounds like an incredible Debut title. I hope this turns out to be a massive sales success for them so the message is heard loud and clear.

Re: Oblivion Remastered Out Now on PS5, Price and Download Size Revealed

KundaliniRising333

Just played for about 3 hrs. Going to set it aside. It has some bugs that are frankly infuriating when it comes to the physics and just trying to search a body. Performance isn't that bad, but it's a step down compared to its pc higher settings. overall it is essentially just a glow up. It still plays like a decades old game so really the remaster label is justified.

For those on the fence, I dunno if it's worth the asking price and would be better priced at like $40. At the very least wait until tech analysis and more in depth examinations come through and decide if it's better suited as a wait until discount purchase.

I have great nostalgia for this however I can convey my experience without the rose tinted glaze.

It's OK and obviously a visual glow up, but it's still a 2006 game fundamentally, asking nearly the same price as Baulders Gate 3.....

Re: Oblivion Remastered Out Now on PS5, Price and Download Size Revealed

KundaliniRising333

I wonder what exactly the changes the leveling system are. One of the worst parts about oblivion for me was the level scaling.

The changes aside from visuals described were so vague. Maybe there will be a more in depth explanation via press release? What's up written on their sit so far is exactly the says nothing script lines from the reveal.

Whom I kidding though, they got me with this one, I will 100% get this for nostalgia alone. Thank God they outsourced an actual remaster, rather than go the route of the lazy garbage re-releases they have milked for years with Skyrim.

Re: Official Oblivion Remastered Announcement Coming Tomorrow

KundaliniRising333

Watch the rumor mill be completely off in their assumptions and this not be a shadow drop at all lmfao. Or it was going to be but after seeing all the hype over it, Bethesda is like "hmm let's make this bigger than it really is and announce a later release date while we figure out ways to monetize it even more and jack up that release price"...

Lol

Re: PS Plus Price Increase Hits Another Country, Canada Forced to Pay More

KundaliniRising333

Pc is looking far more lucrative rather than another generation of this level of milking.

I think once you consider the power disparity of console to pc, and the likely absurd prices for console games and hardware come 2026, alongside Sony's practices and output this gen. The price disparity between console and a mid level gaming pc(still more powerful than consoles), is far smaller a gap.

A sub service like GP for pc, would make up that disparity with included day one 3rd party releases, in a year or so considering the full price cost for the same titles if played on Sony's platform at $60-80 each, not to mention the likely absurd asking price for the ps6....

Re: 'You'll See the Difference,' Says Bend Studio of Days Gone PS5's Improvements

KundaliniRising333

To get these needless recycled content cash ins to stop, we need to stop buying them. Rather than add yet another title to your backlog you may never fully replay just because it's a small upgrade ask, we really need to vote with our purchases.

These form of "releases," have essentially been the dominant offering the entirety of this gen from Sony and Co. They are essentially saying what they think of their fan base with this nonsense, so clap back with a swift ***** no to this garbage.

It's getting out of hand.

Re: TV Show Review: The Last of Us (HBO) Season 2 Episode 1 - Structure Changes Keep Things Fresh

KundaliniRising333

I just can't get past how distracting the casting choice for ellie is. It just so far off that it actually hurts the show for anyone watching who's played the game. Even setting aside the gamers, I too just don't see how they are going to make sense of the lack of age and maturity Bella is capable of portraying in a chapter where it needs it. You are never going to get Ramsey to accurately portray part 2s evolution of ellie.

Her casting alone significantly diminishes the series and I fear, unless they chop it all up with exposition, flashbacks, time wasting expansions using multiple guest directors without cohesive vision and overhaul milking it/dragging it out like season 1. As this is supposed to be primarily a revenge story fully following ellie and Abby. However I suspect if last season is anything to go on, the former will likely be how they've put together this current season.

Re: PS5 Price Increases Announced by Sony, Affect UK, Europe, and More

KundaliniRising333

Lol so they were safe from increases last week according to them, because they prepared and diversified, then the orange manbaby backed down on most major tariffs aside from China.

So now, with less tariff threats than before, Sony is like oh hell no this week we realized we can price gouge with an alibi like we've been doing already and the shareholders are like "get on it biotches."

No reason to stop now. Lmfao 👍

Re: Poll: Are You Planning to Buy Bungie's Marathon?

KundaliniRising333

It just didn't show well. That was such an absurd way to reveal the game. On top of that the art style is far more messy and unappealing outside of the cut scenes than I expected. Music is awesome though.

Then you factor in the previews from those that got to play test and ask questions and it becomes clear that this game is far from being fleshed out enough to be an attractive offering at launch. Considering how long this has been cooking it does make me wonder what the hell they were doing this whole time. Story isn't even made yet, ranked system not even designed yet, serious balancing issues, boring classes, lack of innovation in the genre, and very limited content. Alongside Like it or don't art design.

All of this in a pay to play scenario that screams that Sony didn't learn from Concord.

I think this has too many things that make it a non starter for some and it will have a really hard time taking off aside from the die hard bungie believers and try any thing Sony allegiant. The early sentiment trend doesn't help it either.... Perhaps they can turn all of that around, however I think there is a lot riding on this considering the ridiculous 4 bill price Tag for bungie, and this doesn't scream the next predatory live service mega hit.

Who knows though.

Re: Marathon a 'Premium', Paid for Game on PS5, But It's Not $70

KundaliniRising333

@ChrisDeku yeah that makes sense. Solid points.

Just seems like such a poor choice to be charging for this with the climate we're in in terms of sentiment towards these live service releases. Just seems like you're shooting yourself in the foot right before a marathon LOL pun intended...

As many people, obviously not the diehards, but many are just not even going to give it a shot if there's a price for entry.

Re: Marathon a 'Premium', Paid for Game on PS5, But It's Not $70

KundaliniRising333

@ChrisDeku yeah I'm watching YouTuber talk about it right now though and he said he was shocked at how small the maps were ironically. He said they were so small that just during their play session he was able to basically fully memorize and know the map in and out and they got to play I think two out of the three. So they're extremely small Maps kind of like concord...

I mean full transparency, I never played Destiny. is this how destiny released was it just like couple Maps and you had to buy into it at $40 $50 whatever it is? Granted I didn't play hell divers 2 either. Not sure how much content that had at release. However that did turn a profit so who knows maybe it works out despite this having a very different tone, art style, being fps, etc.

There are rumors of battlepass on top of that as well....
4 billion dollars for bungie... This has to be a massive success and it sounds like it plays noticeably unfinished without much of the story being done yet, but they still have 6 months.

Re: Marathon a 'Premium', Paid for Game on PS5, But It's Not $70

KundaliniRising333

Why? Sony learned nothing from concord.

The game is releasing with 3 maps....
You should not be charging for this...

I only say this because Sony needs a win and I think you would just get more people giving it a chance if you did not have to buy into it be available for whatever beta testing may come along....

I mean you know this is going to be monetized to all hell but I don't know I just don't think that the destiny monetization format is going to work nowadays with such a niche title in such a crowded space.

Re: PS5 Pro Version of Assassin's Creed Shadows Rivals Ultra High-End PCs, Says Ubisoft

KundaliniRising333

@Northern_munkey yes yes here we go again. As you mentioned the other day. This idea that one can't criticize something because they bought into it. I hope you realize if you take a step back on that, just how bizarre and frankly self defeating such a notion is. Especially in the world we live.

I understand the everything is Rosie perspective. It's great, I often envy it. However the idea that I'm a hypocrite for gaming and loving the medium merely because I am disappointed in the trajectory gaming giants and Sony as a platform are taking, is pretty insane.

I'm supposed to quit gaming and toss away a console over it is that it? Cmon man you are far smarter than boiling it down to a simple, "well if you don't like it just leave," mentality...

It's the fact that I do adore gaming and the role it's played in my life, that I feel compelled to call out ever increasing predation in the medium rather than fall in line and swear my brand allegiance through endorsement and praise for any move master makes.

Normally I try to just avoid responding to The predictable replies To anything other than praise on this site merely because it turns into this nonsense we see in this thread. However you know there's some people on here that you just expect that response but with you I don't. I'm kind of shocked. I didn't expect you to morph into this attack anyone that has a different opinion other than "this is great Sony or (insert anything gaming related) is amazing"

Wish you well man, happy your happy. It's just kind of crazy that my original point was merely that there is no way that the PS5 Pro is comparable to the high end gaming PC. And yes I threw in a little snark because I'm quite annoyed at the state of the Assassin's Creed franchise. As I truly loved the original storyline.

Re: PS5 Pro Version of Assassin's Creed Shadows Rivals Ultra High-End PCs, Says Ubisoft

KundaliniRising333

@naruball here we go again. At least this time you really just hit the nail on the head. it's this idea that there is a right or wrong.

There simply isn't. These are opinions and the fact that you and so many other individuals tirelessly defend all things (insert whatever corporate enterprise), no matter the points raised, get so triggered when someone has an opinion that's different from yours; Then follow up with personal attacks... That is the problem, and genuine negativity that plagues these comment sections.

This is the problem and the toxicity that detracts from meaningful discussion, or perhaps even unity in order to better the given medium or subj matter.

Re: PS5 Pro Version of Assassin's Creed Shadows Rivals Ultra High-End PCs, Says Ubisoft

KundaliniRising333

@LogicStrikesAgain there's nothing to get over here my friend. It'd probably be better served for you to examine why you get so upset when someone has an opinion that differs from yours or doesn't positively justify your purchase.

This idea that any criticism, fact correction, or commentary on obvious third party corporate advertising or any other issue plaguing the medium today, is negativity, hate, or just not allowed is a you problem.

Have a good weekend.

I know I am, and shockingly to anyone on this site, one can enjoy life, be a force for good, game, AND offer reflection opinion and critiques when compelled. You can get there if you merely pop that bubble you sleep in.....

The fact that one can view income as disposable in the world we live in today, is a whole other issue entirely. Sadly not one that is in the minority...

Re: PS Plus Price Increases Confirmed for 15 Countries by Sony

KundaliniRising333

Modern day Sony have turned so scummy. They are effectively pricing ppl out of a hobby just to keep the ficticious infinite growth machine chugging for just a little longer. When will these corporations realize sustainability requires some level of equilibrium. constant unfounded(lie justified) price gouging ain't it.

Feel bad for the folks in these regions, as they are already exploited, depressed, and grossly underpaid.

You can make the gaming is a luxury bs argument however this reality exists in every facet of their and all of our day to day realities, both in the necessities and luxuries. Price hikes with no valid reason to do so beyond squeezing a little more. All the while wages haven't risen alongside said costs of living and other goods and services.
