It's just another scummy way to incite fomo for additional revenue. The gullible pay for it which is fine if they choose to do so.
What I do have a problem with is ***** like this and all the other editions and microtransactions that come out no matter what type of release it is in addition to the greed mongers of the industry raising base prices from 60 to 70 and now $80 and Beyond?! Get the ***** out of here.
Couple that with far less innovation from the most "expensive" releases, and the majority of which release technically unfinished and often are abandoned post launch(Capcom, bgs, etc) . What the hell are we even doing.
I've read a dozen reviews or so and every one of them is praising the game in score but when you actually read the reviews it's basically summed up as the exact same thing as the first one, including any perceived shortcomings, with a little bit more combat options i but if you didn't like the first one you won't like the second one.
Visuals look incredible though. Too bad the storytelling of Kojima and gameplay on offer just isn't my thing. DS1 fans are eating good though 👍
Huh. Looks rough in certsin aspects of its UI, combat, movement, and visuals. However the vampire setting has me still interested.
Not at all understanding the idea of calling this a large open world game, yet clearly show a countdown system in the gameplay. I hope they explain that more. Also the skill trees were extremely bare bones and just small. Does this suggest a much smaller and narrow focused game than implied?
Hopefully it turns out interesting, however for me this showing definitely lessened my expectations or interest a bit.
I'm a bit surprised they decided to show this at its current state of development I'm wondering if they are looking to drum up a little bit of additional investment.
Inflation is a lie, it's more profitable because it's also the most expensive console with zero substantial reduction in price across the entirety of its lifespan thus far.
Don't forget that up until this article you and all the other brand allegiant have been excusing making for years that profit margins were so low that Sony couldn't possible offer the console at a more reasonable price point due to its production costs, covid, shortages, blah blah blah. They couldn't possible lower its price 4 years in, because of these tight margins, oh wait they must in fact raise the prices because it's just so spensive to make.
Lmfao, then we come to learn they've made more more profit than all other generations combined in less time and with less units sold....... Oh but they are barely making a profit right? It's just the games and mtxs doing all that right?
Clair Obscure is my game of the year and it isn't even close. I say that without having played kcd2, however having put hundreds of hrs into the first, I know enough of what that game is to be able to say I'm not missing out on a contender. Tainted grail is my second favorite of the year and is a cut above Bethesda titles it mimics. Without it's performance issues it would be even better. Far better than Oblivion remastered even with that terrible performance
Indiana Jones was a massive disappointment gameplay wise.
However, considering the way Japan treats woman along with their fetish culture/ hypersexualize women into girl like objectified imagery; it's kind of funny that this this is too much but that's just everyday life.
Before the weebs come at me,... You do you bub. Yet don't sit here and try to tell me you don't see how that nonsense is cringe AF.
Unstoppable? It's the only mainstream games expo left. Despite it's success, it's nowhere near the spectacle/exciting endeavor that e3 was in its heyday.
It's a glorified paid to show trailer compilation with ads thrown in.
This just explains the hubris of this dude better than I could ever describe.
Like some hipsters choosing to hate their longtime favorite band because they got too successful. Or a beer snob discussing microbrews. Just sad insecurities masked with arrogance/elitism.
Exclusivity has nothing to do with it. No it's just a mediocre game. One that abandoned FF core crowd to appeal to arpg fans but didn't even execute that well. The only thing this game did well it's the watchable story moments. The rest of it was ps3 level design.
They never should have existed. Sony tends to make ***** decisions until backlash is strong enough that the corpos think it's hurting shareholder profits.
This is why being a brand allegiant drone only serves to worsen your hobby. Criticism is vital.
Be competitive then. Stop condoning your peers when raising prices over and over and over again to now near $100. Or perhaps encourage them to not bloat development costs with needless hiring and firing protocols and intentional drawn out dev times. Hey maybe let platform holders know too that by pricing gouging wtheir hardware you are effectively pricing out a significant portion of your potential customer base.
A simple bit of math, just taking Sony's Subscription Service into account, which is the worst one by far out of all of them reveals better context. they are raking in near billions on these subservices fees a year and that's with data that's a couple years old. so maybe talk to them about not respecting you or valuing you enough to put you on their overpriced sub svc platform and pay you a decent amount to do so instead of pocketing all that money so they can fund attempts at doomed to fail live service schemes.
You folks are devaluing yourselves in these ways and many others. You're essentially saying that something like Game Pass devalues you by offering a value to the customer. however, if you look at the current gaming Market there are a very very few values to the customer. Both Sony and Xbox can afford to pay you what your worth but don't go after one of the last decent values in the gaming space because it affects your own price gouging ambitions.
This article just feels like click bait to bash gamepass on a Playstation dedicated site, without addressing the fact that ps plus tiers are literally a rip off.
@lazarus11 agreed. It's criminal that the games media establishment predominantly ignored tainted grail. Such an indie gem. Rough performance wise but in my opinion it makes the Bethesda games it takes after look like amateur hour in terms of atmosphere and story. At least a few games content creators gave it a spotlight and sung it's praises.
I think with the current state of humanity, it was clear very early on that Stellar Blade was going to be a hit. However let's be real here, that success had nothing to do with whether or not it was going to be a good game....
Nice looking forward to pushing the difficulty beyond expert on this masterpiece for ng+. I'll probably finish plat and get around to that later this summer.
Currently loving Tainted Grail after putting over 80 hrs into my first exp33 playthrough.
Not for me. Beyond that though, it's also not what I want to see with successful single player IPS. The idea of trying to capitalize on those ips by slapping them into a liveservice/multiplayer scheme is just not going to often work.
Sony wasted the entire generation and billions in resources doing this and produced almost nothing in return for that greed driven plan, and they aren't done seeing the rock bottom of that trajectory yet.
The last thing most Fromsoft fans want is for them to do the same, rather than using their success to evolve, expand, improve rexperiemnt with new IPS for those schemes; or at least make the effort modernize their own aging and technically inferior engine and optomization protocols.
I don't mind them trying something new. Yeah I don't really believe that's what this was I believe they saw the sales numbers and the popularity of a huge breakthrough hit IP and decided to try to monetize it further by making a farely bare bones system as easy as possible by asset flipping. Best selling millions of copies of another product with the IP name yet with far less invested in it financially so the payoff ends up being huge.
I genuinely was looking forward to the sequel and still am however
There's not a single game I will condone this ***** by paying $80 for. not this, not Grand Theft Auto, not the next iterative sequel from one of the Sony Studios, none of them. They can F right off with that.
Whoever is in charge of all these monstrosity corporations have really misread the room here because essentially what they're saying is that they're okay pricing a large portion out of the player to increase revenue prices for the ignorant that will pay it. It just makes no sense especially when you consider a platform like Nintendo like your bread and butter is parents buying it for kids and you just priced a ***** ton of them out of it.
It's just dumb long term thinking. you can't continue to raise prices you just need to stop with the bloated development cost and/or price gouging for no factual reason.

Lmfao what in the dystopia world are we talking about. This isn't YouTube metrics here. Are we really suggesting that because it was the most viewed it was the most successful? As a huge soulslike fan, I'm still fine with it being more linear but the level based systems alongside the terrible loot system from the previous two, wo long, and Ronin, look like they are just copy and pasted in this one again.
For me that makes it yet another Nioh I wait until it's complete on half off. Especially as it appears to have looks like a very minor visual improvement, if at all, than it's last gen predecessors.
Love the combat, but the story delivery, replaying the same level nonsense to pad out the content, and literally the worst loot system I've ever experienced in a game; just don't make that great combat worth a full price investment for me.
Glad for the hardcore fans of the series though, as Ronin was very mediocre.
This was just bad when you take into account years of just poor showings and ghosting the fanbase. I'm not saying there wasn't a few interesting gems in there but when you really look at the entirety of this generation and how these showcases and stated of plays have gone, it's just insane to see how badly Sony and their game studios were led astray.
Aside from revealing Bond and another Nioh, none of these games needed to be in the one showing we now see from Sony for a whole year.
The ghost of yotei build up only to punch one in the gut and walk away was pretty hilarious and sad at the same time.
This wasn't the worst state of play but it was another underwhelming one amid years and years of them being so. You set aside the echo chamber here on PS, and you can already see most ppl feel the same.
@Olskeezy I don't expect a free upgrade but seeing how Rockstar has evolved. I wouldn't be surprised if there is no upgrade path at all even if you own the ps4 version.

This one could be interesting. As rumors suggest Capcom was once again going to try a live service multi-player scheme in an open world no less, but then abandoned it and morphed it into re 9 yet kept elements of those bones.
Yah this carefully scripted bit looks great and works well as an unreal ad. However it's doubtful this will ever look anything like this on console. It does bode well for abandoning the aged red engine though.
A stunning spectacle as unreal puts out often. However in practice it doesn't seem to ever translate to what they advertise until the tech demo is a generation old or so and the next iteration of unreal is put forward.
Looking forward to Witcher either way, after reviews of course. They lost a ton of talent after Witcher 3 due to terrible dev practices and even more with the cyberpunk fraud.
@GuttyYZ that's exactly what I am thinking as well. There is no way this wasn't just shaved off content they are packaging up and selling for additional profit.
Just ensures it's wait for a steep sale to play any of it, as I don't want to support that BS.
So the performance is shoddy on the pro, yet you didn't take the time to even report on how it plays on the base ps5 that most platform players have? Yet one can conclude it's even worse performant on it, then you slap an 8 score for it regardless because it's Fromsoft or what?
It just seems so bizarre that since the pro was released you haven't at all checked base ps5 performance in your reviews. It's a ps5 dedicated site...
He's already shown way too much of his new walking simulator. Even fans of the series and those that previewed 8+ hrs of the game have said his trailers have shown/spoiled way too much.
Yah after a dozen hours or so I set it down. It's on me for breaking my never buy on day one rule. I let nostalgia and hype get the better of me and I have buyers remorse because of it.
Knowing BGS track record of never really fixing games, and letting modders do the work for them, console versions will likely never genuinely get fixed or have non technical feedback addressed.
I think I am more disappointed that they really didn't do anything to update or address the originals shortcomings, and yet the marketing along with games media went along with a vague narrative that they did. The fact that they knowingly released the game in a garbage technical state is just salt in the wound along with it.
It's a great game. The level scaling and lazy loot system are it's two major drawbacks for me as well as the somewhat dated and janky combat even for its time.
Aside from that though the storytelling still makes this a solid 9 despite the above aspects making gameplay lesser than it could be.
They should just cancel the project now. It is guaranteed to flop at this point. The sentiment toward this game was already mediocre. The play test was underwhelming, and now this.
Bungie will be essentially dissolved after it does.
Just rip the band aid off. It's no secret that the playstation live service push has been an unmitigated disaster and has had irreparable consequences on their Studios and brand sentiment as a whole.
Unfortunately they will likely just delay this only to have the same result next year and waste even more resources on these pipe dreams.
This has got to be one of the worst acquisitions in entertainment history.
Pretty insane that's the entire art design framework was essentially based on stolen art. Yet don't let bungie or games media shills fool you here by glossing this over as a decent response from bungie. This is like the 4th time they have been found to have used obvious examples of stolen art in their work. They respond with the same "it was one bad apple," bs every time and agreed compensation that for some never happened. This dev is scum and Sony paid billions for them; all to try and find a shortcut to a unicorn that is largely extinct today.

Re: Poll: 10 Years Later, What Are Your Thoughts on The Witcher 3?
It's a great game. The level scaling and lazy loot system are it's two major drawbacks for me as well as the somewhat dated and janky combat even for its time.
Aside from that though the storytelling still makes this a solid 9 despite the above aspects making gameplay lesser than it could be.
Re: Marathon Maker's Morale in Tatters as Art Director Forced to Admit Asset Theft in Ill-Conceived Livestream
Re: Bungie Conducting 'Thorough Review' After Plagiarised Art Is Found in Marathon
