As we inch ever closer to the release of Ghost of Yotei, Sony has released another brief gameplay snippet — this time focusing on Atsu's odachi.
The odachi is a Japanese greatsword that's effective against regular and larger brute enemies in the open world action game:
As with the other videos, Atsu goes up against a group of bad guys but comes out on top thanks to her mastery of each weapon type.
It looks like you can charge up some seriously heavy blows with the odachi, trading some agility for raw heft.

It's just one of several weapons in the game, and Sony has already released videos shining a spotlight on the kusarigama, yari, and firearms.
You'll be able to swap between weapons on the fly to take on different enemy types.
Presumably, all this weaponry will translate over to Ghost of Yotei: Legends, the multiplayer mode coming to the game post-launch.
Are you excited about Ghost of Yotei and the odachi weapon? Tell us in the comments section below.

As soon as it went gold I pre-ordered and requested the day off work. 😊 👻 🥷
Stop releasing articles ffs. Help Sony to fix the PS Store so we can buy Silksong, Team PushSquare!
This game is just pure cinema, I can't wait to play it
Lol I love how the enemies are so kind as to stand around you and watch as each enters the fight to die one by one.
@KundaliniRising333 IKR. with every video, instead of getting excited for this game, 2 things always go through my mind. 1, the enemy AI seems terrible. 2, I can't help but wonder if they just used the same engine as the first game. It looks almost identical. I'm sure this game will be fantastic, I will get it day one regardless. But with all this time between and a new gen of hardware, I figured I'd be wowed
@StitchJones @KundaliniRising333 This is a weapon trailer demo, not enemies A.I demo. They usually set with the easiest difficulty to showcase the weapon.
Beside. Most standard enemies or we all know as fodder enemies in action games are dumb easy until you pick Hard / the highest difficulty or meet specific enemies including boss that can fight you back. It's the same for DMC, Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta etc where fodder enemies AI are program to get easily hit, watch their friends got slaughter, while do some random blocking or slow af attack that can be easily dodge / block by players.
@StitchJones same
@StitchJones well people want higher resolutions with more actual pixels on the screen. So the PS5 GPU is being used for that. Which doesn’t leave a tone of overhead like many think it has. Had the PS5 been built to be a high medium tier console developers would have more power available to impress folks. It’s why I hope with the PS6 they wait longer to launch it and put expensive hardware in at launch. With all of that said it’s not an ugly game by any means it looks good just like the first one.
@StitchJones can’t have the AI too realistic as the main protagonist would get destroyed in sword combat against any bloke. To me the combat is arcade like the first one which i think many don’t mind.
@JAMes-BroWWWn You do realize this site is not actually run by Sony Interactive Entertainment, right? The staff here had nothing to do with the problems with the PSN storefront...
@Vaako007 @KundaliniRising333 Another thing that makes this disappointing and its not Yotei's fault, but there's a need for some 1st party games to wow us already technically. We are deep in ps5 and still waiting. Two heavy hitters in GOW:Rag and Horizon:FW already went this gen. But they were cross platform and held back. Horizon should have been running on the Death Stranding 2 ver. of Decima . I'm not the biggest GOW fan but Both Horizon games were fantastic regardless, so its not the biggest deal. But when those games take over 5yrs and $500mill to make, you kind of want them optimal to whatever hardware they are on. But Sony forced the cross platform BS too much. GOW: rag is like Yotei but even looks more identical to GOW before it. That game should have been a tech showpiece for ps5, but instead it looked like just another decent ps4 game
In my opinion there's too much woman main character in games nowadays.. ill skip
