Re: TMNT: Shredder's Revenge Getting PS5 Version, Identical to PS4

KleebanKliban

I imagine part of the reason is when PS5 players browse PS5 games on the PS Store, they don't see this game. Adding a PS5 version will give it better visibility on the PS Store and help it sell better, which is good for the future in TMNT games.

I wouldn't be surprised if file size is smaller and load time is faster. It depends how strict the devs are when they say no upgrades or features. They may mean no gameplay or visual changes. Though if this is strictly for visibility on PS5 store no changes would be needed and file size wouldn't decrease.

These days you can't win lol. If they said they reduced file size for load time, and called it a feature, people would complain as if they are pretending this is some upgrade. Feels like they just gave internet crybabies the finger haha. Good for them!

Re: PSVR2 Not Looking Cheap as Impressive Features Debut in Hype-Inducing Ad

KleebanKliban

@Thehandsomedan havent read all the replies so not sure if this was covered, but FYI it seems devs can patch PSVR games over with minimal effort. Im sure about all the big PSVR game devs will reach the conclusion that the low cost of updating will be worth the potential to breathe new life into their games (and sales)

I know that doesnt solve the problem, and I was also hoping for built in BC, but Im optimistic. I mostly hope that Skyrim gets the upgrade treatment. I bet it does. Bethesda is sick like that!

User reviews say that, visually, this upgrade is like going from PS2 to PS3! Not the lesser upgrades to PS4 or PS5. Granted PSVR1 set a low hardware bar and this time around Sony are releasing more modern hardware for the time.. so significant graphical improvements arent exactly difficult to achieve lol.

Though one friendly correction to something you said, just for the sake of history being reported accurately haha; PSVR didnt only start selling well after a price decline. It sold incredibly well from go, initially selling as fast as it could be stocked. It did get another huge bump after the price drop, which is exactly what price drops are for, but they only reduced price a year and a half later when demand finally slowed. All the drop did was prevent sales slowdown from the 140k-ish per month range, which was already slowed from the initial 230k per month range as they sold the first 1 mil. PSVR was already the single best selling HMD at almost 2.5 mil by the price drop.

If anyone told you PSVR had sold poorly they were using bad metrics, maybe looking at total PS4's sold and assuming every buyer should want the new tech, which is of course untrue. The more revealing metric is to consider total PSVR sales relative to competition (Oculus and Vive sales), and PSVR sold more than their combined total. That tells you people who cared about VR were already on PSVR much more than any other mid-high end platform. That of course stopped being true years ago.. and I am skeptical that Sony can regain the lead over Meta now, with limited PS5 production and Meta's hardware free option.

Still I expect PSVR2 to once again propel VR forward at a faster rate than would have been possible had Sony not gotten involved in VR.. and we could still use more big names in VR. Wont be long til Microsoft and Apple start releasing software and (in Apple's case) hardware. Then I think VR starts accelerating at much faster pace than the pace set by Meta and Sony.

Re: The House of the Dead Remake Coming to PS4, Out Next Week

KleebanKliban

@get2sammyb "if you make a game for VR you're basically having to render 360-degrees."

Good point. Gave me an idea though. Devs could semi-support VR by putting games in cinematic mode with 3D-TV effects, and Move support in some cases. I could be wrong, but it seems like that would be far less development, and Im sure it would earn some extra purchases

Re: Naughty Dog Dying to Share Its Multiple Game Projects in Production for PS5, PS4

KleebanKliban

@RatmCky a TLoU remake could incorporate more story that has been fleshed out for the show. Of the two games it's the better story, but the gameplay is much, MUCH worse than the 2nd game. Improved gameplay and expanded story are the two best reasons for a remake. Upscaling does nothing to change the fundamental experience. RE2 was a great remake example, and Im super excited for the Dead Space remake.

As far as LoU, personally Id love to play Joel during early outbreak when he was a real PoS haha. I'd prefer a prequel to a remake, but Im def interested in a retelling of first game with better gameplay and new gameplay sequences.

Re: Soapbox: How Discord Will Change the Way We Play PS5, PS4 Together in 2022

KleebanKliban

@PenguinL for single player, you could ask a chatroom for a game the best way to tackle an enemy or game section.. or the server may have helpful infographs showing things like in-game gear in an organized, easy to read way, as well as where to find the gear. They may post helpful videos for different topics, like trophy guides, or the best character builds for different play styles.. and these videos would be organized in different sections (basically various chat tabs)

Basically anything anyone might need to know may be in the game's channel, and if it's not you could ask chat and there is a very strong chance someone who loves the game cant wait to show off their knowledge and give you a helpful answer.

Re: Video: The State of PlayStation VR in 2021

KleebanKliban

I appreciate the corner cuts PSVR1 took to get the cost down, and Id even say that decision led to much greater VR growth than the PC headsets could have achieved without Sony... but man Im passed ready for some decent tracking of the HMD and controller.. and Im equally eager for thumbsticks.

Im also looking forward to seeing how PSVR2 stacks up against modern PC headsets. PSVR held up very well against PC VR even when PC VR had everything going for it on the hardware front. PS innovation was all it took to get a comparable experience on much lower end hardware, and they even beat the competition on screen door effect through tricks that sound awfully similar to PS4 Pro's rendering technique for 4k. This time around PS can games can be developed from the ground up for SSD.. something I dont expect on PC very soon. Im confident there will be a window where the most impressive VR game is on PS5, not PC.

Im also hoping Naughty Dog has something to contribute this gen.

Re: PlayStation Studios Has More than 25 PS5 Games in the Works, Jim Ryan Reiterates

KleebanKliban

I still have hope that Falllout 4 VR was among the contracts worked out with Sony before XB aquired Zenimax. The game came out for PCVR long ago so plans could easily have been made to release it on PS after PS5 came out, or maybe after PSVR2 at this point. Fallout 76 and Skyrim have both gotten support so XB may just allow it anyway since it's not a new game, or a game they can put on XB anyway. Might as well get paid.

Resistance deserves a remake. Would love to play as Nathan Hale again with hybrid abilities, especially considering the tone these days could be much more mature. Would love it to lean into horror more as well. PS5 could use an exclusive shooter and I preferred Resistance to Killzone. Hard to imagine Insomniac working on this alongside Spidey 2 and Wolverine, so for now I'd accept a remaster of the original trilogy made by another studio.

I also really hope Naughty Dog's next game after LoU MP is an open world RPG. PS needs an epic Western RPG. With the PS5's super fast SSD, this might finally be the right time for NG to be able to achieve their standard of visual excellence in an open world, loading high res textures near instantly with their crazy technomagic. They were already making worlds somewhat more open in Lost Legacy and LoU2 so maybe that was a small first step. Im reaching hard with this one and it's unlikely, but NG always do something very new when they do a new IP. If they are doing the space sci-fi game that was rumored, then open world would seem much more likely.

Re: Japanese Publisher Implies PlayStation Audience Is Transitioning to PC

KleebanKliban

@Ralizah all the option on PC is its greatest strength and its greatest weakness, depending on who you are. The console preferred gamer is typically exhausted by the mere thought of the PC experience itself. There is so much to consider, from higher level things like when is the right time to buy new hardware and what hardware, right down to what are the best settings the PC can handle for individual games (and having to learn what the settings even mean lol). The different games you can play dont even enter the equation. At most games just determine which console we are going to buy, if our friends didnt already determine that.

Im not opposed to dropping consoles, personally. For me, smart TV streaming is likely going to be what replaces consoles in the future, assuming I can stream my entire digital library with next to no sacrifice on input lag, performance, etc. I imagine playing my PS5.. and then techno-magically take away the PS5. Im just on my TV, but not one single thing is different. Of course, a lot of people demand physical ownership so consoles will have a relevant market for a long time. I cant even imagine that need ever disappearing.

Re: Poll: Does Sony Need a Big PS5 Showcase This Summer?

KleebanKliban

Every moment Sony stays quiet, XB starts looking more and more like the platform to be on. XB have the more straight forward power for 3rd party games, the gamer friendly platform decisions (not just crossplay and play anywhere.. remember Skyrim mods? Smh), the better subscription service which will even have streaming soon and no doubt better streaming than PSNow (nevermind Bethesda's additional work on streaming tech).

All Sony had was the games and VR. VR is a big deal to me but XB has games now too, stealing the only dev I put on a higher pedestal than Naughty Dog, and that purchase also took a ton of AAA VR support. Skyrim is agruably the best PSVR game, inarguably one of the best. Bethesda Softworks also had VR support for Doom, Wolfenstein, and Prey. As a whole that publisher means a lot to the future of VR.

This E3 shattered the illusion that XB would have another dry gen. Then Sony folllowed up with an indie outreach program culminating in a reminder of how awesome one of XB's new studios is haha. Im still team Sony but this is the first time Sony has had so little to put in front of me, and with no disruption to my line of sight my eyes drift and I notice a patch of grass in the distance, and as I stare it seems to grow greener. Block my view Sony. The heat is on and it's like your body doesnt realize it should be sweating. This is hazardous to ur health. You have so much work to do to match XB this gen. Games are far from enough and you arent even showing much there when it was your strong suit.

Re: Upcoming Content for Marvel's Avengers Will Bring Players Back, Says Studio Head

KleebanKliban

I expected this to perform just like Destiny. Sounds like we are getting The Dark Below, which will bring players back briefly. So will House of Wolves. Tho Avengers wont hit its stride til expansion 3, The Taken King.

Honestly I just want Spiderman. Hulk is the only remotely cool character in the game and HawkGuy wont change that. Avengers are about as boring as Justice League, if Justice League didnt have Batman haha.

Re: PS Now October 2020 Update Adds Days Gone, MediEvil, and Much More

KleebanKliban

@render That's basically a demo, which is done on a case by case basis. Might be the publisher that decides which of their games get demos. Don't think Sony can just overrule them and let you play part of their game for free.

Though streaming demos would be nice for larger downloads, especially when you aren't super interested in the game and might lose interest by the time the demo is done downloading lol.

Re: Sony Abandons Decades-Old Japanese Controller Logic for PS5

KleebanKliban

My first thought was I feel kinda bad cuz it will be confusing, but honestly it will only be confusing for a VERY short time, at least if it's someone who games regularly. Even when swapping between older PS consoles it will be easier than people think. People West of Asia have been rotating between PS and Nintendo for decades. When you hold a unique controller your fingers remember where to go, after a small amount of practice.

The only real issue here is that Sony is prioritizing their customer base to the West. If I were Japanese I would be annoyed that after all this time suddenly my Japanese platform is forcing Western practices on me. Feels like a sellout move, like their loyal fans in their home country are being undervalued. It must have been awkward to pitch this idea to Japanese higher ups lol.

Re: Sony's First Year, First-Party PS5 Lineup Blows PS4's Away

KleebanKliban

@Octane damn you know a lot about it haha. Really cool Baldr death was part.. and yeah all that sounds awesome!! Also not sure if Hel was the big bird in helheim that flapped you to safety.. or was that someone else? They made it almost missable if you didnt look at the background. Id love to know why that bird helped with the escape.

Re: Sony's First Year, First-Party PS5 Lineup Blows PS4's Away

KleebanKliban

@Octane yeah interesting point. Could just be a "winter is coming" deal. Though I guess I could see Ragnarok in 2nd game if they are stopping Ragnarok, and that becomes what angers the gods and causes them to hunt down Kratos and Atreus in the next game. Ragnarok could also be drawn out, starting at some point in 2 but going on into 3. In the first series, 3rd game picked up from the moment 2nd ended.

Though Id prefer a more drawn out story personally so Im hoping you are right. I think Ragnarok should be an epic ending after we have seen Atreus grow through the 2nd game and to the end if the 3rd.

Really hoping we get one more youngish Atreus game too. I hate when they flash straight to adulthood. The father son relationship is a major driving force for the story and there is more to tell about the relationship's early development. Would be a huge wast to miss it entirely.

Re: Fans Believe God of War 2 Could Be Part of PS5 Showcase Event

KleebanKliban

I don't really care whether it does/doesn't get shown today, but Sony is usually good about showing us things well in advance so we know what to expect in the future.Even if God of War is shown, I don't see it being a launch window title. The last game was only like 2.5 years ago.

Spiderman came out around same time of God of War and the Spiderman game coming at launch is just an expansion more than a sequel, though not hating at all as I'm so amped for Miles Morales! However God of War was very successful and they will want to take plenty time to make sure the sequel lives up to the first game. Maybe we get it by end of 2021 but I would expect it in 2022. Only way we get another God of war around launch would be if they made a 1.5 game like Miles Morales.

If they do tease the sequel, I'd be curious to know how far through Atreus's life they skip. I kinda hate when they skip right to early adulthood. There is more story to tell about Atreus's childhood with Kratos. I don't want to just skip right to him being a full on God. I want to experience his growth during his most formative years and watch him become badass slowly. Ideally the game picks up very soon after first game, maybe a year later at most.

Re: Sony's PSVR Reveals This Week Aren't Proving Popular

KleebanKliban

@S1ayeR74 I dont know where to start. It's exhausting how much correction your comment needs. "Many many" is exactly what you said, possibly the opposite end of the spectrum from "some". Your assumptions about my false assumptions are ironically false, as are your assumptions about my opinions on exclusivity concerning Play Anywhere, PC gaming, and XB 1st party quality.

You can stop letting your insecurity surrounding PC releases make you paranoid. I dont PC game. PC releases of XB games make the games no less exclusive for a console gamer like myself. I dont hate XB exclusives though since 360 there is little to feel much at all about. I definitely never made the mistake of thinking that you understood the implications your comment made surrounding lack of 3rd party game interest for those with XBSS as secondary console.

Finally, it should be OBVIOUS, that if I am saying the gamers in your scenario are not buying XBSS for 3rd party.. I MUST expect 1st party content to be the purpose. It is baffling that you are accusing me of thinking these gamers dont want 1st or 3rd party games for their console.

Dude.. it's time for you to move on.

Re: Sony's PSVR Reveals This Week Aren't Proving Popular

KleebanKliban

@S1ayeR74 From your comment I feel like I have more faith in XB than you do lol. You just told me primary interest for XB is in XBSS as a secondary console to PS5, not in higher 3rd party performance of the XBSX, meaning people are modt excited bybthe ability to pay minimum console cost for their 1st party only machine, while buying 3rd party on PS5 where it performs better than XBSS. C'mon things arent all that bad for XB. They have a lot going for em these days and next gen will be better than this gen.

Oh I see.. you came to a PS fan site to troll, but it's clear you are just as aware of the actual state of the industry as I am. Keep an eye on your subtext my friend, and you will troll more successfully in future ventures. Best of luck in your quest! May you find the satisfaction you seek!

Re: Sony's PSVR Reveals This Week Aren't Proving Popular

KleebanKliban

@S1ayeR74 consumer interest has no signs of shifting. On the contrary, this is overwhelming evidence that interest in PS5 is as strong as ever. XBSX's price is revealed and almost all of the comments are about PS5 price. XB marketing cannot help but be little more than a PS5 hype machine these days, and they just lit a flame under eagerness for a PS5 price/preorder reveal.

I get that you're impatient with the prices, but the wait isn't causing the consequences you hoped it would. Those who are waiting for prices to determine the console they buy are more informed and are still waiting for all the info that will inform their decision.

Those preordering XBSX now were already getting it, maybe even with PS5 as well. What will hurt PS5 somewhat is if XBSX is in stores before PS5. The uninformed consumer will see only one next gen box and may buy it right up with no desire to own both.

Stock limitations will also be interesting to see. It's basically a certainty that all wave 1 stock will sell out for both platforms, so whoever managed to make more consoles will have the early lead.

Re: The Lord of the Rings: Gollum PS5 Screenshots Are a Glimpse Into the Future

KleebanKliban

The chick on the bottom left has oddly spaced boobs

Yeah, graphics aren't great but I'm more disappointed that we have skipped straight to Mordor in game 1. I was really hoping for some early Gollum story, where there is a ton of creative freedom and opportunity to see Gollum really struggle not to lose himself, as well as seeing new settings.

This looks like they are skipping to early Fellowship when Gollum gets caught, or they are writing Gollum as having gone to Mordor more than once? I don't like it.. Still probably gona buy it haha

Re: PS5 Cosmic Horror Quantum Error Targeting 4K, 60FPS with 'Beautiful' Raytracing

KleebanKliban

@Shigurui gotcha. Im sure you know more than I do about tech but I remember people didnt think PS4 Pro would ever hit native 4k, and they thought vanilla PS4 couldnt handle VR and that Pro was a forced purchase since Sony knew vanila would be awful. I dont know the tech but Ive seen a pattern of comparisons to PC leading to mass underestimation of PS tech.

I guess Sony isnt the one saying 60 frames, 4k and ray tracing though.. it's these devs. If Sony said it I could know it's true but I dont know these devs enough to trust their grasp on hardware so maybe you're right

Re: PS5's Operating System Sounds Like a Thing of Beauty

KleebanKliban

@LeTHaLMiGRaiNe PSVR contributed to pushing VR software further than it would be at this point otherwise, and helped devs to get significantly more revenue for their games than they would on PC alone. Sony invested in pushing various studios further with VR, even 3rd party studios behind Skyrim, Borderlands 2 and Resident Evil 7. Sony even released exclusives like Astro Bot and Firewall Zero Hour which are widely considered best in genre

PSVR is not just a success, it is the leading mid to high tier HMD each year, despite the fact that there are far fewer PS4's in the wild than gaming PC's capable of VR. Try getting that percentage haha. PSVR literally defines the current height of VR success. Yet you suggested PSVR is "definitely" a failure.

Please, if you are going to pretend to be analytic, learn to view things in context. 5% on a test is failing. 5% of a giant customer base adopting a niche, optional peripheral in a medium's infancy is a phenominal achievement far beyond anything you will ever achieve, and to think they did it with such low end hardware.

Ongoing support for PSVR on PS5 is already confirmed. The first iteration of PSVR has sold more units every year and it hasnt even begun to approach the software peak PS5's extra power offers, and that's before PSVR2.

This is all very embarassing for you, I know, especially after double downing on having only posted "facts". If anyone asks how you got shutdown, just blame coronavirus

Re: PS5's Operating System Sounds Like a Thing of Beauty

KleebanKliban

@LeTHaLMiGRaiNe well of course it's not debatable.. you have to be receptive to logic and differing wants, needs and even opinions in order to have a debate. You clearly made up your mind before we knew the first thing about either console, and are too ignorant to acknowledge even subjectivity

My conclusion:
You shouldn't use the word conclusion. It implies intelligent analysis, which is nowhere to be found in your comment

Re: PS5's Backwards Compatibility with PS4 Still Has Fans Flabbergasted

KleebanKliban

@MysticFartRipper I feel you 100%. It has the same issues as streaming video services, just as it has the same benefits. Plenty games I dont care about that feel like fluff.. but I dont care about the vast majority of games, music television so that is inevitable if the service is even remotely diverse. Some of the stuff that I think is pure filler to make service look better, is probably awesome to someone else.

Def not trying to say you should subscribe. Just saying it creates a better alternative for a lot of people, and it gets dismissed by people who cant see the value it holds for other situations than their own. Clearly you are not among them and have a solid grasp on it. I get it can feel like flushing money just like going to a movie theater must for you, but at the end of the day for a lot of us the time we are entertained is the value of anything, owned or not. I basically flushed money on Horizon Zero Dawn so far because I didnt even finish it and I could have just paid $10 to check it out on PS Now, same with Uncharted 4. That could change. I hope to finish them once.

Im personally gona be on and off PS Now. Every so often when new games I want to experience but dont want to buy add up, I will pay $10 for a month and go hard. I enjoy owning my favorite games though. Ive lived too long with owning and have too big of a collection. I cant possibly stop collecting completely haha.

My buddy is lucky and missed out on PS3 so his plan for PS5 is to just pay $60 for a year and game hardcore. So many awesome PS3 games on there that he missed. He is super diligent too, one of those platinum hunters, and may even be able to get thru most of the best games in that year, assuming PS4 games dont start getting added more frequently than I expect. He is the perfect person for PS Now.

Re: PS5's Backwards Compatibility with PS4 Has Fans Baffled

KleebanKliban

@MysticFartRipper I disagree with ur 2nd comment tho. Ps now is awesome! Only problem for me is I own so many of the games that I like on there and I have such a big backlog. I dont need a subscription. If I didnt have any of the games and had no backlog, ps now would have the same superior value to owning games as netflix does to owning movies. If i was a movie buff I wouldnt need netflix.

People go on about the illusion of permanent ownership as if our lives are infinite, but at the end of the day its how much you experience for ur money. Its all about usage, not what you could potentially use if u wanted. Owned games spend most of their time being unused so just because u could play them ur entire life doesnt mean u ever get that value from them. $10 for a month of PS Now on the other hand gets u far more than $10 of ownership.

There r a small number of people that might buy less than one $60 game per year on average. For them, owmlning would be better value, but any less than a year on each game and the $60 annual ps now cost beats it.. cuz u could have played those 2 games for the price of one. If u play more than 2 games, ps now just keeps lapping the value of owning

Of course I prefer to own games cuz im a fanatic.. but the math is absurdly clear. Subscription hold far, far, far more value

Re: PS5's Backwards Compatibility with PS4 Has Fans Baffled

KleebanKliban

@MysticFartRipper just adding to your comment.. the ps2 ganes on ps now arent even ps2 games. They r ps4 ports that u can buy digitally on ps4. There are no extra ps2 options offered by ps now, only the dozen or less games they bothered to release on ps4. Not saying I dont get why that's the case.. but people get mixed up. Other than ps4 games, ps now only gives ps3 games

Re: PS5's Backwards Compatibility with PS4 Has Fans Baffled

KleebanKliban

@AhmadSumadi Its all about convenience. People dont want to have to fish out old tech when new tech should be equipped to handle old software. This analogy is easy to poke holes in from a technical standpoint, but imagine having to keep old smartphones in your pockets to use apps made prior to the release of your new phone haha. Your old phone is hidden away in storage? Sorry your bank's app was made before your new phone.. better go dig out the old phone. (Obviously not how it works, thank god, but thats what lack of BC is like)

When I am in the mood for old games, it's brief and specific. I dont want to find hook up an entire console just to indulge in one old game for 30 minutes before storing it away. I just dont play the game at all.

Ideally I can just throw out my PS3 and save storage space. I started going all digital due to how much space is taken up by videogame consoles, controllers and games.. plus it's far more convenient. New consoles are better to play old games on. They have more ergonomic controllers and faster UI's. Pre-PS4 controllers are so small and awkward, and the joysticks were mushroom shaped and thumbs slipped, similar issues with R2 and L2. The PS Store on PS3 is super slow too.

Everything just gets better on new hardware so if it's between being able to play on new hardware and not being able.. there is clearly one option that is objectively better

Re: PS5's Backwards Compatibility with PS4 Has Fans Baffled

KleebanKliban

I agree with you Sammy. Mark Cerny is probably just being carful not to make an empty promise, and probably so overly careful that it's discouraging the way he says it. Sony was just as cautious when talking about Boost Mode on Pro. Ive never not had Boost Mode on, and Ive never had any issues playing games that don't have Pro patches.. but Sony (maybe it was even Cerny at the Pro reveal) said they couldnt guarantee games will run properly in Boost Mode and players should be careful. In retrospect it was probably just them considering they cant play all games on base PS4 and Pro to compare experiences and make sure they work right, just as they cant do that for for PS5 and PS4. PS5 is just Boost Mode 2.0

This part feels harsh but it's purely intended to be constructive. Cerny is not charismatic in the slightest when he presents. He is all around delicate, in mannerism and how he explains things. He is highly intelligent and seems like a great guy, but I dont think he is the best person to be giving these presentations. Clearly the way he expresses things gives the wrong impression.

Cerny should be coaching someone energetic and likable, or at the very least likable, to give these presentations. The speeches are 100% scripted. There are no questions at the end and we dont need Cerny there to read lines. Even if there are questions, he could just come out for that portion. Cerny should be conveying to a professional speaker the points he wants to get across, so that person can get them across more successfully. I liked Shawn Laden (not sure of spelling). If he was speaking there would be less doubt.

Re: Dreams to Receive Demo on PS4, Media Molecule Confirms

KleebanKliban

@TheNewButler I agree with you, but I am hoping that VR will be what makes the game fun for me and I intend to check it out then. I enjoy being inside different games/worlds in VR but you have to buy each game and ultimately you grow tired of the worlds quickly if the gameplay isn't great, which in this point in VR's life is usually the case.

I could see dreams being a solution to my problem. One purchase, tons of worlds and more over time, and probably mostly short experiences that finish before I lose interest. I don't really intend to create anything though.. maybe if it's super easy I might make a joke world to make fun of my brother haha

Re: Butthurt PlayStation Fans Taken to Task by Ex-Guerrilla Producer Over Horizon PC Port

KleebanKliban

People confuse pc for competition to console. It's not and xb is already cashing in on it. I hope this is a sign that ps sees what xb managed to do right this gen. All exclusives should go to pc. Its in the best interest of pc gamers, ps gamers, and ps themselves. I just want the games to launch first on ps so that devs arent distracted by pc, and give us well optimized games. Moment last of us 2 is out and patched enough, by all means get started on a pc port and release it asap. More money for devs and ps to thrive.. and in the case of mp games way more gamers for us to play online with and exclusives arent so quickly doomed to dead lobbies.

If u prefer console like me, it doesnt matter if games r on pc.. ur still getting a console.. and ur still getting the one with the games u want. Horizon didnt go to nintendo or xb.. halo didnt go to ps or nintendo. Ur still gona choose ps5 and ps6 if ur a ps fan.. and xb if ur an xb fan.. so will millions of others and consoles wont stop getting made when there is high demand.

If u prefer pc, u already get 3rd party games on pc so lack of a console purchase wont hurt ps or xb. U still buy the same games from them, only now for the device ud rather use which is convenient and cost effective for u.

With play anywhere, everyone wins except the people who r too stupid to realize they won at all haha

Re: Xbox Game Pass Adds GTA5 the Day After It Leaves PS Now

KleebanKliban

@Arnna Rotating 3rd party games is more logical than you think. This can be logically decided from both sides. The license owner of popular content can leverage a better deal from a competitor instead of renewing their existing contract. Alternatively, if a streaming service is paying for a content that no one using, it doesn't make sense to renew the contract and pay extra for content that doesn't attract revenue.

Rotating their first party games like Uncharted and God of War is a bit more tricky. I don't think they were ready to release the games permanently to PS Now. The games probably still sell enough. I'm thinking it's an experiment to see how many gamers that got a taste of the games and enjoyed them will now buy the games permanently, or it could just have been a test to see if it having limited time games would encourage gamers to subscribe immediately to check the games out, instead of waiting indefinitely to check subscribe for another month. Maybe they hope for both.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Patches Are Getting Completely Out of Hand

KleebanKliban

@Stocksy next gen will use SSD's so it actually should get better. Assets get reused on HDD's so they can be recovered quickly. I don't know the numbers or anything but Mark Cerny at PS said it should help devs reduce file size to only have to store each asset once, so I'm guessing it's significant if he bothered to highlight it.

PS5 downloads will also be configurable due to SSD's simplifying things. It's expected that, depending on the game, you can only have certain parts downloaded. I expect a game as big as CoD will take advantage of this and you will be able to delete Campaign files once you are done with Campaign, and only leave on MP and Spec Ops... or even just MP. That would save a ton of space.

Re: PlayStation Fans Are the Most Loyal, According to a Recent Study

KleebanKliban

@naruball if Sony were to have a less appealing console and only sell 15 million units, the sales for God of War and Uncharted would remain largely untouched. It would be multiplat sales that suffer as the gamers that arent buying exclusives would be on a superior Xbox. Exclusive sales would almost definitely go up as people tend to buy more exclusives to justify the purchase of an exclusive only device.. like I bought Smash just to vindicate my Switch purchase, or Ryse for my Xbox One.

If Nintendo had a more powerful home console with a better online infrastructure, it would be graced by the same reduced exclusive attach rate because it would be getting increased revenue from a new audience that doesnt care about its exclusives, like PS and XB both have. Currently Switch just doesnt make sense for multiplat gamers. Too many games dont go to Switch and it will be worse when next gen starts this year. Switch sales are mostly just handheld gamers and home console gamers that can afford a secondary console for exclusives, and the latter are the gamers skewing the attach rate.

Nintendo does have the most draw as far as exclusives, but you cant just look at the attach rate as a single metric that tells all. The consumer motivations behind those numbers are more complicated than you are assuming and while Nintendo has the lead in exclusive appeal, it's not by as epic a margin as attach rate suggests.
