Some people here sure would've hated the times before streaming since it's so upsetting to actually have a show last instead of just watching it all in a weekend. The next episode is always something to look forward to, but everybody needs to have everything now.
As for the trailer, this season looks like it will be excellent. I'm playing through New Vegas now to get ready.
It depends on how much of it actually is changed. I tried playing Halo: Combat Evolved for the first time a few years back and was unable to finish it. Between the extremely dated gameplay, extremely repetitive missions, and recycled areas, I just couldn't bring myself to try to finish the campaign.
@belmont I agree. No, Double Exposure is not amongst the series' best, but I still enjoyed it and was happy to play it. I also wasn't as bent out of shape as to how they handled some things from the first game.
@Batesy125s Agreed. The first one was great, but I definitely liked True Colors best. One of the best games of it's kind.
I'll reserve overall judgement for when a trailer drops someday, but I can't say she would've been on my list of people to play Lara. Maybe we'll be surprised.
A shame it had to be released before it was actually finished. Even so, people decided to pile on it even though it was still a decent game at release, which didn't help matters.
I actually highly enjoyed the game and would've loved a sequel. It was a good game, especially in it's current form.
Had the PS5 version for several years now, but never replayed the game until I started to this week. I also didn't purposely play it now because it's the 5 year anniversary either. I didn't realize that until the article about it on here after I had already started it again.
@Boucho11 Purchases through PlayStation Direct since you log-in with your PS Plus account anyways. At the very least they should've counted. I'm not saying my complaint isn't flawed, but I also do remember back in the day that some of these rewards programs you could scan your receipt and have it count that way.
It would've been better if it was implemented into PSN and not just the phone, but also if it didn't basically cater only to people who buy digitally. I have gotten points over time, but nowhere near as many as if it was something closer to Microsoft Rewards and not focused a lot on digital only.
I will have gotten either $15 or $20 (I don't remember which off hand) out of it when all is said and done, so it wasn't completely worthless, but the program was still a big disappointment.
@trev666 Not everybody loves really hard games. I'm one of those people that doesn't. I will never play a Souls game as I like to play games for fun, not to be extremely frustrated.
Anyways, I could understand if the game didn't have an Easy difficulty level, but when I searched online it doesn't seem like it has it. You would think that would at least help solve the difficulty issue.
This is pretty awful, especially considering how well their games are now doing on PlayStation. I know the Series X and S have been massive bombs and Game Pass has essentially killed them, but did they really need to layoff so many and cancel games that have been in development for years like Perfect Dark?
I don't care what people think of PlayStation this generation. Yes, they are greedy just like the rest of them and they have had a pretty disappointing generation from a games perspective, but I'm glad I gave my Series X to my brother. I'll just play Xbox games on my PS5. This generation has killed any respect I had left for the brand.
@Northern_munkey I know. I was just criticizing the person who wrote the article for asking that question. It's a silly question for people who play single player games.
Doesn't surprise me that a feature in the PS5 UI is broken and hasn't been fixed yet. There's been things that have been broken with it since practically Day 1 and they either have never fixed them or it took them months or even years (Playtime tracking, the PS Store had issues, etc.). If there's a game with a demo and is a cross-gen title (Final Fantasy VII Remake comes to mind), good luck being able to properly compare trophy lists with your friends.
Like others have said though, wishlisting more than 100 games seems crazy. Still, the feature should work properly, especially this many years into the PS5's lifecycle.
Since I didn't play this with a headset when I played it on Xbox years ago, I'll gladly get the Deluxe Edition and replay the first one "properly".
Some might think I'm crazy, but I think $70 is a solid value for the upgraded version of the first one and the sequel bundled together. A free soundtrack is never a bad thing either.
I know this was a massive failure and got review bombed online, but after a few hours I've been enjoying it so far.
It doesn't take long to get used to the 30 FPS, and I'm not sure why some people had such an issue with the game kind of feeling like a PS3 game. That generation had some of the best times, so I'm fine with that.
With the recent announcement of Resident Evil 9, I'm going back and playing the last two games I never played. I'm deep into it now, and aside from a couple of very frustrating boss battles (mainly Jack), I'm enjoying it.
I liked the first game well enough to get the sequel, but it would take a really special game to get me to even consider paying $80 on day 1 for a game. I'll just wait.
@MasterVGuides Given Microsoft's history of not putting anywhere near the full game on a disc, I wouldn't hold my breath that the disc will be nothing more than a coaster like Indiana Jones and Doom are.
Since this kind of a State of Play has been massively disappointing in the past, I'm keeping my expectations the same as I always do with these now... I'm not going to bother watching it. I'd rather spend my time playing something than watching what I usually end up being a waste of time.
If it surpasses those expectations like the one did that had Resident Evil 4 and other games in it, then great. I can watch the trailers later.
Now that I'm finally done with Baldur's Gate 3, I have moved on to something else. I know Star Wars Outlaws was a popular game to crap on, but I always enjoyed it. Now going back to it after all the patches were applied, it is basically what the game should've been from the beginning. I also am finding the Wild Card DLC to be fun so far.
It's guaranteed that the viewership would be lower for the finale no matter what excuses Sammy and other people come up with. There's no denying that a portion of the viewers stopped watching after Joel got killed. They weren't going to suddenly come back for the finale.
I continue to watch to see if they can actually turn around some of the portions of the story from the game that I disliked, but so far they've basically streamlined a lot of the story in Season 2 and not for the better.
It's going to be real interesting to see how many non-gamers stick with the show next season when they realize they'll be watching a season that will be dominated by Abby.
I'll happily claim Alone in the Dark and Bomb Rush Cyberpunk. I know the reviews for the former weren't great, but I'll still gladly play it for free. I'll claim NBA 2K25 and probably not play it like I do most years with NBA 2K.
@EfYI I don't think I ever did that intentionally, but that is kind of funny.
I intentionally spoiled myself going into the game, so I knew I was going to have to play as her at some point. I came to terms with that, but then it just kept going on and on and on. Obviously the last straw was, like I said, then turning around the one fight scene from earlier in the game and making you fight Ellie instead.
I'm glad people enjoyed the game, but unfortunately the story killed it for me. Just judging the game itself, it was actually better than the first one. The story though? Not even close.
@Ironcore One could make the argument that both Ellie and Abby are each the bad guys, but imo that is a major problem I always had with the game. I'm all for realism in games, but at the same time it's a video game. A video game I bought to play as Ellie. I don't care if her actions were bad. Of course they were, but again, it's a game. A game where the last straw for me was forcing me to fight Ellie as Abby.
The viewership for Season 3 is going to be really interesting given how likely a decent amount of people stopped watching after Joel got killed off so early and given how much of Season 3 will likely be just Abby's story. Obviously, just like the games, people were watching for Joel and Ellie. Well, I guess them making Ellie unlikeable, taking what they did in the game too far, makes it a bit easier I suppose.
I've always thought it was a pretty poor rewards system, pretty much leaving anybody who doesn't buy everything digitally out in the cold. Same goes if you don't buy games day 1, so I rarely got the rewards points you would get for playing games either.
All in all, a perfect example of PlayStation this generation. I've still enjoyed my PS5, but even the rewards system that could've easily been more useful for more people if they let it was severely flawed, and that goes hand in hand with this generation as a whole.
@roe Same here. I intentionally spoiled myself during "SpoilerGate" for Part 2 to make sure I'd still be alright with playing it. I had no idea Abby's part would be so long, or that they would literally flip things around and make you fight Ellie as Abby, something I didn't want to do at all because I was playing the game to experience the story as Ellie.
Just as the showrunner made the obvious mistake of putting Joel's death early on like it was in the game, he's also going to be left with a MAJOR problem in Season 3 when most of it is Abby. There's going to be a solid portion of the viewership out there that isn't going to want to watch almost a whole season of Abby with a little Ellie and friends sprinkled in. That is if they cram a lot into this season's finale and are only doing 3 seasons.
Finally getting a bit burnt out on it after 180 hours. I think I'm going to just try to wrap up the story along with a couple of side quests and call it.
Microsoft has been doing this for a long time. This is maybe a new low, but even a game such as Gears Tactics required you to download a large portion of the game even though the whole game could've easily fit on the regular Blu-rays they still lazily use on the Xbox consoles.
Yes, there are a lot of games that require you to download a day 1 patch and all, but at least there's a decent portion of games that you could play out of the box if you chose to with the full v1.0 being on the disc, especially since PS5 games release on UHD discs instead of the old Blu-rays.
In the end, it's BS what Microsoft is doing, but at the same time I'm also still happy that they are releasing their games at all on PS5. Sure, this wouldn't be an issue if they didn't buy ZeniMax, but I'll still be happy to play some of their games since I did accomplish what I set out to do this gen and get myself down to just one platform. No more Xbox or Switch ever again.
I was a huge Gears of War fan back in the day. I may get this at some point, but like others have said, it would've been nice to get the whole original trilogy or even the whole series. I say was because I'm pretty pissed that they decided not to finish the current trilogy's story in favor of doing a prequel instead.
This just guarantees I won't buy a single Xbox game at launch ever. Once the inevitable price increase hits PlayStation games, that will be the case with them too. The only game I'd buy regardless of price would be Horizon 3 because I'm a huge fan, but otherwise there's not a chance in hell I'm spending $80 for a game. That's just greed.
Still going. A couple of frustrating almost unbalanced battles are making this take even longer than expected. I want to rescue Shadowheart's parents, but it's so frustratingly unfair even on Explorer difficulty that I may have to stop that mission and move on.
I'll definitely get this at some point as Oblivion is one of my all-time favorites. Definitely no time soon though since I have plenty of other games right now. By the time I'm ready, maybe it'll be cheaper, which will work out nicely.

The change from just hitting Joel over the head with the golf club to kill him to now stabbing him was a completely unnecessary change. It was already extremely graphic enough in the game. It added nothing seeing him laying there dead with half the golf club stuck in him.

Hard for me to agree with the attack on Jackson village being so good when it was extremely noticeable that at least half of the zombies you could see had no makeup on whatsoever. It actually felt lazy more than great.
