There's nothing wrong with this new update, but it is weird that there are little things in the UI that still continue to not work consistently even though the system is over 5 years old.
A meaningless feature, but it listing the username on the top of the notifications that pop up usually only works the day you download the update and then it goes away. Games that have Game Hints only have the notification pop up maybe once every 15-20 times I load up a game. Again, nothing major for me as I don't use them that much, but most features on the PS4 would work as intended every single time I booted up the system.
@Yor-sama It's fine. No big deal. I was just saying what I do with the games every year. It's been a long time since I actually played these games for the actual wrestling though.
@Yor-sama I do, but I usually only play the MyGM mode, which is fun to run shows with downloadable characters from other promotions. I always wait until Black Friday to get it on a big sale though since that's basically all I use the games for.
@BaldB3lper78 There's no way you can't see the difference in the two pictures that are posted above. You have to be just saying that to say it otherwise, as even on a 16 inch laptop screen I can see the difference and it's night and day in the hair. The left shot is somewhat clumpy and you can see practically every strand of hair on the right.
@Gamer83 That's fine. Nothing wrong with liking the classic characters. I wouldn't mind them bringing some of the others back and have them work together like the recent animated movie did.
It's just a shame in this case that Grace has to take a backseat to Leon given how the game was initially marketed. I was more interested in that, even though I have nothing against Leon.
@Gamer83 It'll still be enjoyable, but I wouldn't say that Grace is the problem. The fact that she becomes such a secondary character in the second half of the game even though the game was initially marketed as her being the main character is on the developers, not the actual character choice.
Fairly disappointing that you only play a fraction of the second half as Grace, especially given the fact that the initial marketing made it seem like she was the main character.
I'm sure I'll be entertained by the action sequences, but I probably would've preferred the game if it was just Grace's story. I'm still going to get this at some point obviously since it is still a good game it seems, but the fact that I wasn't going to be able to start it anytime soon is not as big of an issue now that I know it's not quite what I had hoped it would be.
I have little interest in playing this long term, but I would've considered playing the beta for the hell of it since it's Horizon. Only have the servers up for 3 hours a day and having it be at night pretty much kills that for me. Would've considered playing it during the day over the weekend. Oh well I guess.
I'm far from an expert in this area, but I wonder why other companies couldn't just step in and make more RAM to improve the situation. Obviously they would make a lot of money out of it right now.
@Midnyte-Monkey And yet this still seems to retain a lot of what made Returnal popular with the fans that stuck with it. Heaven forbid they try to appeal to a wider audience while still making it what Returnal was for the most part at it's core.
It's rather annoying how some fans of this genre stick their nose up at the thought of somebody new enjoying a game you still would inevitably enjoy. You don't have to take advantage of the Fast Travel feature. You don't have to pick options in other areas that would make the game easier if you don't want to. Again, the experience you want is mostly still there if you choose to play it that way.
@twitchtvpat True, this is just speculation from somebody outside of the company, so maybe things aren't quite as bad. Still, if he actually is right, that is inexcusable that Horizon 3 could still be years away only because PlayStation wanted a pointless multiplayer game. They should've had some other studio make it, as Horizon 3 should've been the main focus for Guerrilla after they helped out on Call of the Mountain and Lego Horizon, two deviations I have no problem with since they only collaborated on them.
I also just noticed after skimming through the article again... The next game is not Horizon 6...
@OldGamer999 Yeah, it's amazing that Naughty Dog still hasn't released a new game on the PS5. Yes, we know that they have a game finally coming next year, but for them to take nearly 7 years into a console's life cycle to finally release a new game is insane.
As successful as several of their first party studios have been over the generations, it's surprising that most of them can only make 1 game at a time.
Horizon 3 should've been the priority after they were done collaborating on the other 2 Horizon games that came out. I had no problem with those diversions, especially since they weren't doing all the work on them anyways, which would've kept Horizon 3 on course. If this article is true and it is going to take several more years still that is.
Hard to let PlayStation off the hook at all here. Maybe I'm more angry about this than the average person since Horizon is the reason why I'm still on the PlayStation platform when I had a choice to go one way or the other at the start of this generation.
It's amazing how Insomniac is the only 1st party developer that's able to develop more than 1 game at a time, at least for the most part. The real PlayStation fans want Horizon 3, not a multiplayer Horizon game, so doing this has done exactly what I feared it would. Set Guerrilla back enough that Horizon 3 is still years away.
Also, there's no reason why it would've been planned for PS6 all along since Horizon Forbidden West came out in 2022. The fact that the PS6 is likely not coming out as planned makes that even less likely now. They should've easily been able to do the last 2 entries in the trilogy on PS5, regardless of whether PS6 was originally planned to come out sooner than it will now.
I think he's a good choice. I don't really see the point in making a big deal about whether he's white or black considering you never actually see the color of the body model's skin, nor is the character black.
What should matter is whether the actor chosen will do a good job, and from what I've seen of his work (plus his work as Thor), I think he will.
I've highly enjoyed the vast majority of the series. Life is Strange 2 would be the only one that I didn't love (yes, even Double Exposure), so I'd welcome another entry.
I do have to concur that hopefully they do handle this properly given the fact that Chloe is dead.
@elvisfan1 I'm still using my original controller as well, and that's the only one I've ever used. It's still going now for roughly 4 and a half years. I guess we're just getting lucky.
Some people here sure would've hated the times before streaming since it's so upsetting to actually have a show last instead of just watching it all in a weekend. The next episode is always something to look forward to, but everybody needs to have everything now.
As for the trailer, this season looks like it will be excellent. I'm playing through New Vegas now to get ready.
It depends on how much of it actually is changed. I tried playing Halo: Combat Evolved for the first time a few years back and was unable to finish it. Between the extremely dated gameplay, extremely repetitive missions, and recycled areas, I just couldn't bring myself to try to finish the campaign.
@belmont I agree. No, Double Exposure is not amongst the series' best, but I still enjoyed it and was happy to play it. I also wasn't as bent out of shape as to how they handled some things from the first game.
@Batesy125s Agreed. The first one was great, but I definitely liked True Colors best. One of the best games of it's kind.
I'll reserve overall judgement for when a trailer drops someday, but I can't say she would've been on my list of people to play Lara. Maybe we'll be surprised.
A shame it had to be released before it was actually finished. Even so, people decided to pile on it even though it was still a decent game at release, which didn't help matters.
I actually highly enjoyed the game and would've loved a sequel. It was a good game, especially in it's current form.
Had the PS5 version for several years now, but never replayed the game until I started to this week. I also didn't purposely play it now because it's the 5 year anniversary either. I didn't realize that until the article about it on here after I had already started it again.
@Boucho11 Purchases through PlayStation Direct since you log-in with your PS Plus account anyways. At the very least they should've counted. I'm not saying my complaint isn't flawed, but I also do remember back in the day that some of these rewards programs you could scan your receipt and have it count that way.
It would've been better if it was implemented into PSN and not just the phone, but also if it didn't basically cater only to people who buy digitally. I have gotten points over time, but nowhere near as many as if it was something closer to Microsoft Rewards and not focused a lot on digital only.
I will have gotten either $15 or $20 (I don't remember which off hand) out of it when all is said and done, so it wasn't completely worthless, but the program was still a big disappointment.
@trev666 Not everybody loves really hard games. I'm one of those people that doesn't. I will never play a Souls game as I like to play games for fun, not to be extremely frustrated.
Anyways, I could understand if the game didn't have an Easy difficulty level, but when I searched online it doesn't seem like it has it. You would think that would at least help solve the difficulty issue.
This is pretty awful, especially considering how well their games are now doing on PlayStation. I know the Series X and S have been massive bombs and Game Pass has essentially killed them, but did they really need to layoff so many and cancel games that have been in development for years like Perfect Dark?
I don't care what people think of PlayStation this generation. Yes, they are greedy just like the rest of them and they have had a pretty disappointing generation from a games perspective, but I'm glad I gave my Series X to my brother. I'll just play Xbox games on my PS5. This generation has killed any respect I had left for the brand.
@Northern_munkey I know. I was just criticizing the person who wrote the article for asking that question. It's a silly question for people who play single player games.
Doesn't surprise me that a feature in the PS5 UI is broken and hasn't been fixed yet.
