Seems daft with all the other collectibles surrounding this release they didn't have a steelbook only exclusive like Silent HIll f for example. Paying 70 sovs for a bog standard physical copy will put me right off a day one purchase or pre-order. At least in the UK that is, overseas may have a steel somewhere.
@B0udoir Hell no, no prequels it's not like either ending of the first game didn't leave a Hell of a scope for a direct follow up. The shadowy group mentioned near the ending that popped up out of nowhere with little explanation for one needs covering.
Never played it as never owned an Xbox but it looks like a Resistance rip-off. Wish they'd remaster and reissue that trilogy now that's a remake I could get behind!
Although there have been some gems this gen I don't regret having left it 2 years before I finally picked up a PS5. Granted at first they were scarce which didn't help but even so the early releases weren't that special. And since then we've been bombarded with constant remakes or past releases with slightly upgraded visuals.
I just find this gen a bit lazy overall and once the PS6 arrives I'll no doubt leave it a few years before picking that up.
@Oram77 Same here I didn't want to risk it selling out. Just wish Amazon would confirm whether the version with the steel is the day one which has some other DLC or other I'd guess it will be.
Outside some feeble DLC is their really any reason for a day one purchase of this? With the likes of Silent Hill f and Hell Is Us there are decent incentives (steelbooks, soundtracks etc) to pre-order but not with the above.
It actually looks pretty good but as soon as I hear gacha I zone out. Tried Infinity Nikki but couldn't help thinking if this was a standalone game without the gacha element it would be something special.
@PaperAlien To be fair outside of the indies it's always been like that whether in games, the music industry or Hollywad. On a plus I can't think of one live service title I've ever liked or invested in after a trial, it's just not for me.
Will skip this week as September is the month I'm splurging. Just played the Hell Is Us demo and despite it being a bit janky in places that damn atmosphere and the plot hit me bigtime.
Can't fault a freebie. Mind you the game was average (and that's being kind) but will reinstall it for this. I hope Shadows is better but will wait for a sale on that one...
Does the world really need so many damn remakes? Its like the gaming industry have decided to be the new Hollywad movie industry rebooting everything. In an ideal world Konami should make it up with Hideo and get PT back as a going concern...
I wish they'd concentrate on single player only. This entire string of Dead By Deadlight clones is getting boring fast. I bet this will mainly be MP focused with the single player campaign a brief afterthought.
@Oram77 Just hope they don't keep some of the mechanics from the Exodus DLC, the core game was a blast but I found them a bit lacking. Also guess it depends if they choose the good or not so good ending from Exodus? Hope its not a new protagonist either.
Wish John would pause this kind of project and the countless musical albums and finally give us a new movie. Mind you outside of his name this game may have very little input from him. Bit like GRR Martin's involvement with Elden Ring although obviously that game was a masterpiece.
I keep meaning to give this a second playthrough as the score was solid but the game itself a tad average. Problem is too many other better games in the back catalogue at the mo...
This looks like a ChatGPT notion of what a game should be. On a plus we can all have a chuckle when the developer blames it's inevitable failure on haters.
@DrVenture69 The DLC is worth a go as it almost gives a proper epilogue whilst also setting up plot points in a possible sequel whether that is RE9 who knows? I think that's the game I'm most hyped for at the mo, Silent Hill f will hopefully be good but still don't trust Konami. To think we could have had a Hideo game with Reedus in it the mind boggles. On a totally nerd related almost OCD level I'm thinking now what the soundtrack would have been like obviously Akira would have done the score itself but could we have had other tunes like in DS/DS2? Keep thinking Trent/Atticus maybe Numan or Depeche. Damn you Konami!
Either this weekend has taken it's toll or half of these games aren't live for PSP members. Indika for one which I was about to download. Apologies if I'm missing something here.
Isn't that the guy from Heroes? Can't take him seriously as a soldier but then haven't bought a COD game since MW2. It's just like the Fifa games the same old turdage with new wrapping.
I think what I'll do with CO is give it a second go as it has a decent sounding new game plus option. Not yet mind as the plot by the end just got too negative. I mean I rank the movie The Mist in my top ten but CO seemed to totally bludgeon the player with constant misery. And like you say The Writers seemed to spring up out of nowhere near the end and make very little sense being introduced so late. I guess they'll milk that with a sequel but even so the endgame wasn't it's best aspect. Having typed that I've got the damn 8 CD soundtrack pre-ordered!
@somnambulance The problem I had with Clair Obscur was the plot was extremely dark and I was going through some personal ***** or loss. At first the game kinda helped with that but then by the end I thought sheesh all this doom and gloom is not helping matters. Metaphor on the other hand was just pants endless battle after battle just got sick of it. But as you mention Stellar Blade let alone BG3 well those were good kinda forgot they were the same year. We are spoiled gamers we really are that it's been so good this year.
@MrHabushi Censored is still censored. I refuse to buy anything that isn't the original artist's vision. In this case it may be distasteful though so will avoid it regardless. Guess it's a UK thing though our current wonderful leadership is hellbent on censoring everything except their corrupt hypocritical selves.
@somnambulance For me the two biggest and hyped up disappointments were Metaphor and Clair Obscur. The first I didn't even complete, the end slog was so drawn out I thought nah lifes too short for this cobblers and the constant battles grated. With Clair Obscur loved the story to an extent but the difficulty levels seemed totally random one minute it was easy the next impossible. Did finish it though as wanted to see how it ended but hot damn neither ending was exactly cheery times. Whereas DS2 it's just perfect, the tunes, the graphics, the way it doesn't pander to anything. Favourite line so far "Where's the rest of the band?". Utter class. I found Dollman creepy in the trailers but he's my fave character now.
@somnambulance What I'm loving about DS2 is they way it took all the good things in the first game and streamlined the frustrating angles out. Not that I didn't love the first but some of the climbing took it's toll this one is godlike makes me think Hideo listened to fans and gave us this masterpiece accordingly. Should we have connected? Hell yes!
@DrVenture69 I just got to the samurai versus Higgs bit and damn did that not give me the MGS vibes obviously a big shout out to a certain MGS legendary character. And we all have lives I mean apart from having to feed my kittehs the damn game has me hooked can barely drag myself away from it it's a masterpiece.
And let's face it a gaming world without Hideo in it is a far worse off place. Love him or hate him he is an innovator that can't be beat. Alongside Swery perhaps the David Lynch of gaming. Which reminds me when the Hell are we going to get Deadly Premonition 2 on the PS5?
@PuppetMaster Yeah I don't get the negativity either. I mean he's just dropped a damn fine game but haters gotta hate I guess. I wonder if they whinge when their favourite bands say we're working on a new album etc etc or a movie director says my next project will be whatever. People these days just can't take a win for a win.
Even though it got slated the last Terminator game was pretty good. The early stealth missions really captured the tone of the movies as in made the Terms scary as Hell.
@DrVenture69 Dear Lord 330 hours? You sir deserve a medal. I think I'm 40 hours in nope tell a lie 35 hours which is 52% in theory. Without getting spoilery is there a new game plus for you to get that kind of mileage?
@Neither_scene But surely the liquid metal issue would affect many more this whole thing seems too random. Hence why I didn't start DS2 till a good few weeks after buying it but glad I risked it as it's fine touch wood and a stunning game. Also I guess my PS5 is a base model let alone I've done hardly anything to clean it over the years supports that. Also people are reporting the issue with PS5s they've just purchased so that kinda makes the liquid metal issue a non-starter too. In all my years of owning PlayStations I think the only one that ever broke was a PS4.
@somnambulance Oh Hell no didn't realise it was the same team. I was going to give Oblivion a go with the physical version but think will give it a swervage now. Or wait till it's dirt cheap. Thing is there are so many decent games out or coming out I'm picky about what I play now. Still on DS2 then have Lies of P. The only pre-order I have is Silent Hill f as that had a steelbook but not totally convinced it'll be great.

Re: Silent Hill 2 Movie Adaptation Return to Silent Hill Gets First Trailer
Oh man that looks bad and that's coming from someone who learned to love the first film and even tolerated the second!
The lead looks like he stepped out of A Chemical Romance video that sure as Hell ain't James. This casting makes Bella Ramsey as Ellie look sensible!
On a far more positive note Bloober is remaking the first Silent HIll game, why no article on this?
Re: Call of Duty Dev Commits to Sensible Skins in Black Ops 7 Following Strong Community Backlash
Still can't take that guy from Heroes seriously as a bulked up soldier. Guy doesn't even look like that in real life.

@PuppetMaster The other trailer made it look like the Siren games but this one seems quite different. Getting a bit worried about this game now.
