Hopefully they can get some of those funds into finally rebooting/restarting the BN epic club so I can finally download my Dark Souls Trilogy soundtracks!
Think this could really be something special after Bloober riding high on the success of SH2. Bit daft pigeon holing it as a Dead Space type game, not every war game is COD after all...
"We’re analogue TV’s. 3.5” disk drives. Nostalgic and imperfect. We make games that stick with you, long after the credits roll. Games that persist. Like an old arcade machine, with the UI burned into the display forever. And with that, we are no longer No Code. We are now SCREEN BURN."
That sounds more of a manifesto than anything else. Or pretentious guff and doesn't exactly instil hope for a SH fan like me.
I think it's unfair to mark it down for performance issues when a lot of AAA titles aren't patched on that front. The best example being DS2 still sending fans into take-off mode...
Strewth not a Dead By Daylight clone that's a first for most horror movie franchise titles. Bring it on especially with Doug involved instead of that last celluloid, er, effort.
It'll be interesting if they opt for male or femme Shep. Personally I thought the voice acting was better for the latter although if they chose that option a certain Scottish influencer will throw a hissy fit...
In defence of the second the soundtrack was superb and probably elevated the game to a degree where I could be bothered to complete it. Also a lot of the post release free DLC and patches put a lot of other developers to shame.
They are correct after a fashion as I tend to avoid games which include them. And then find an actual "fun" alternative which doesn't feature them and is likely a far better game too.
Ghostwire Tokyo was ropey as Hell, can't believe it was the same studio behind the Evil Within series and can't believe I even bothered to complete it. A far better game with a similar vibe would be Slitterhead now that I had a good time with.
Deathloop on the other hand I own but gave up on after a day or so's play as the loop mechanic got old fast. For me the Fallout series trumps all Bethesda titles although did enjoy Skyrim.
On Dave the Diver at the moment, what a game, pleasant, addictive and just plain fun. And will keep me busy till hopefully the DS2 overheating issue is patched then I can start that.
I just wish I could remember playing the damn thing, I know I did and completed it judging by trophies but apart from the start can't remember b*gger all about it. Must have been a good game to drink to sheesh!
The problem in waiting for the PS6 is if you have the utter chaos and/or unavailability like when the PS5 first came out. I can't so sick to death of it waited a good couple of years before picking one up.
@Oram77 Sekiro was the only Soulsborne game (if it is considered such) I never finished. Got to the last boss and damn that was crazy difficult. Cracking game but damn that last battle. At least with the Dark Souls trilogy, Elden Ring, Bloodborne you can level up and grind but Sekiro was all about skills I clearly didn't have.
@LifeGirl It makes you wonder what their job roles were, can't believe they were all essential programmers, artists etc. I mean look at small studios like those behind Clair Obscur who delivered a polished product with a very small team.
Think they dropped the ball with this one not repackaging it with the original game. It's a bit of an ask for new punters to invest in both granted they aren't too bad price wise.
If it isn't on the disc a recent YouTube video by an infamous Scottish chap summed this practice up quite succinctly. What I hate is when the installation takes hours and that's with a decent internet connection. It's like put the disc in then you can't actually start the game there and then. It's the main if not only reason I subscribe to PSN as it means I can play a digital game whilst a physical release is installing. It also doesn't help with digital the majority of games are actually more expensive than a physical release which makes little sense if they want to push digital only...
@KundaliniRising333 To be fair to Capcom they are nowhere near as bad as Bethesda. The RE series for example I cannot recall any day one problems whereas with Bethesda it's pretty much a given with the studio. And hence why I never have and never will buy one of their games day one. It's just a pity the gaming industry doesn't have some kind of quality code that forces studios to do better and not treat their fans like idiots.
It never fails to amaze me how titles like this from major studios are released in such a broken condition. I've lost count of how many recent-ish releases are barely playable or in some cases even damage a PlayStation. Has Hideo even acknowledged the Death Stranding 2 over heating issue yet? All that appears to happen is a patch is released which breaks the game even further. I'm half tempted to return the game for a refund.
@RiverGenie It's the hottest day here or one of 'em tempted to boot it up and see my PS5 go airborne. Seems really shoddy behaviour to not address the issue by Kojima mind. Really want to start the game but ain't going to risk it for a biscuit.
I played and completed the first one but for the life of me can't remember b*gger all about it. Obviously it didn't hit hard. Either that or I was on the shant big time that week.
@Anya-chan After whatshisname painting-by-numbers "performance" in Generic Park Sequel let's thank the Lord it never came to pass. Just rewatch the first Blade it can never be surpassed. Even Blade 2 couldn't top it.
I can't see why folkers are whinging, this update is FREE. Personally I think it'll be cool to play the game in a different order especially for those of us who've played it more than once.
Did you have it vertical or horizontal? I think my PS5 is a base model certainly not the slim but got it a good few years after they were first on the market. Sony's official line is they recommend vertical but the liquid metal issue seems to tie in with that. Either way I've got to start DS2 soon so will just risk it.
It was good for the most part, my issue was the levelling up and difficulty it was all over the place from midpoint onwards. Also the two endings weren't drastically different although can see why Druckman would like them as they weren't exactly cheerful.
I wish it'd been a bit shorter and usually like long lasting games for value. Can't believe i'm typing this but I preferred Veilguard now that was a game that got way too much hate glad I risked it in the end.
A new patch has just gone live as of noon UK time; can't find the patch notes online anyone know if this small patch fixes the overheating map screen ish?
Does anyone know if the map screen jet engine taking off issue happens on the physical version too? I'm a bit wary of booting up the game till the next patch to be honest where hopefully they'll address the issue...
Although I bought the physical copy begrudgingly (at that price) I wonder if the lack of decent pre-order bonuses (outside of DLC fluff) has impacted upon the physical release? A decent steelbook Hell even a slipcase might have encouraged a few more punters. The irony being though the physical copy if you shop around is still cheaper than the digital at least here in the UK.
I love Alan Wake and Control but this just doesn't appeal despite it being free and having a PS sub. I'd rather they concentrate on Control 2. Or Alan Wake 3...
Resident Evil wouldn't work as an open world title as it would instantly lose the scares/claustrophobic settings of the best games in the series. They could still attempt it though via a brand new IP or bringing back the much missed Dino Crisis franchise...
Really wish Bandai Namco would sort out their epic club coming back so we can spend our points. Still can't download the Dark Souls Trilogy Soundtracks which in theory were part of the game because it's not up and running.
Although I didn't mine Callisto Protocol it came across as average at best and it didn't help the proper ending was hid behind DLC. That really left a bad taste in the mouth.
@Mattock1987 I find it's random youtubers/influencers who post crazy titles complete with a picture that ruin most games. I think after the great review here and it possibly being ruined by others will buy it sooner rather than later now.
