The life sim genre has been ruled by The Sims for a long time, but South Korean effort inZOI is taking the fight to EA's long-established series.
Now, it's been officially confirmed the game is heading to PS5 when it launches in "early 2026".
For those out of the loop, inZOI is a seriously ambitious take on the life sim, built in Unreal Engine 5 and featuring an impressive visual style.
You're in charge of the Zois (the people) and the cities they inhabit, able to fully customise your characters and the environment to your liking. The Zois have free will and unexpected events will unfurl while you play God.

In case anyone is unaware The Sims 4 is free on all platforms.
Didn't the early access for this game go really.... badly?
A mog and a cutie I'm sold.
Got my eye on this one, looks really good
Not particularly impressed with the somewhat generic artstyle. As much as I dislike EA, at least The Sims has a distinctive style.
It's still Early Access on steam it's no where near finished it's got ages
@Number09 Base game free, plus approximately 1.5 million worth of DLC.
Used to love this type of games, especially The Sims, until I found myself trying to improve my sim's stats by reading and working out while I was neither reading or working out. It hit me that I was improving my fictional self rather than my real self and immediately deleted it from my laptop and never looked back.
Anyway, inZoi looks an improvement over The Sims, but again, for me, that only makes it worse.
@pyrrhic_victory who needs every single dlc released to enjoy the game exactly? Never understood this argument. When I used to play the Sims, I'd get a couple of expansions (The Sims Superstar comes to mind) and enjoy that instead of thinking I need to own everything.
@Oram77 I have heard that the game is simply boring and doesn't have the amount of content even base Sims 4 had. I am interested in if they add the content it needs for people to stick with it but I would keep expectations low.
@pyrrhic_victory Base games cool no need for cosmetics We can see why they released it free but I have only ever bought 1 DLC and that was for the long dark.
This looks incredible but I have doubts about optimization.
I would keep my reservations, but it is cool that it would be available on console. You won't be limited to the minimum required specs if you don't have the proper equipment (like on a PC).
@Xayias Yes that is what I have heard too, one could agree "it's early access" but to me that is basically what the game is going to be.
Given The Sims 4 is FREE, any copycat game trying to piggyback on the success of the original and charge for it will likely have an uphill struggle. It will probably flop and get bundled into ps+ monthly games as a space filler soon after release.
My favourite Sims cash farm was throwing a party and locking sims in my house basement/dungeon with only an art easel and the basics to keep them alive. I ended up with a basement full of highly skilled artists, and made a fortune from selling their work. 😇🎨
From the current reviews of Inzoi, it's very bare bones and will need a lot of updates to even get to the Sims 4 level.. which is in itself basic. It looks better, but right now it's shallow and has not been reviewed well on PC so far.
Great, another platform where people won't play it!
