Not seen since its announcement over two years ago, John Carpenter's Toxic Commando reemerges with a brand new gameplay trailer, as well as a release window.
Here's a taste of what this co-op zombie shooter is all about:
Bringing a pulpy energy and buckets of zombie viscera, this looks like it should serve Left 4 Dead fans well.
It looks like you'll be able to group up with friends (cross-play is also supported) and engage in first-person horde-blasting action, both on-foot and in vehicles.
The game is powered by Saber's Swarm Engine, which was also put to use for World War Z: Aftermath and Warhammer Space Marine 2. In other words, expect lots of enemies onscreen.

You'll be able to pick your character and class, each specialising in different ways of course.
Inspired by 80s horror and action movies, the game has "buddy-movie vibes and over-the-top humour" as you take on the undead, upgrade your weapons, and work together to beat increasingly tough challenges.
There's no denying that this kind of co-op action can be huge fun, and Saber has put out some great games the last few years, so this has some potential.
It's set to release in early 2026 on PS5. Are you interested in Toxic Commando? Let us know in the comments section below.

If they don't sell it with full price it has a chance; otherwise it will be forgotten before the spring.
Dropped off at the ball punching and cacophony of quips. Woof... seems insufferable..
Been waiting a couple of years for this since it was announced. My goty contender. Can't wait for it to be released!
Wish John would pause this kind of project and the countless musical albums and finally give us a new movie. Mind you outside of his name this game may have very little input from him. Bit like GRR Martin's involvement with Elden Ring although obviously that game was a masterpiece.
@Jammer
Carpenter is my favorite director, and I would love a new movie. But from interviews etc, he just don't wanna make anymore movies. Which I can understand, as he was screwed by Hollywood, plenty of times. It burned him out.
Music is his main passion now, and he still makes music for movies from time to time.
Plus he's a huge gamer.
This looks about as good John Carpenter's Ghosts of Mars.
It should at least have a great soundtrack as whilst Carpenter's talent for filmmaking and storytelling died many many moons ago, his music is as great as ever.
