Re: Talking Point: PS6 In 2027 - How Do You Feel About Sony's Next-Gen Console?

Jammer

No chance day one even though it's highly likely this won't be as hard to source unlike the PS5 for obvious reasons. Unless of course they get some decent (non-remastered) titles out there in the first few months unlikely though. I guess if this thing is going to release soon-ish we'd know about the games in development and there seems to be zilch of note so far. I almost wish Microsoft weren't clearly in decline as it will encourage Sony to get (more) complacent.

Re: Sony's Bluepoint Studio Recruiting for Third-Person Melee Action Game

Jammer

@Oram77 Well that would truly be something especially after the graphics they achieved on the PS5 version of Elden Ring. People bang on about the Demon's Souls remaster but no way was visually it more stunning than Elden Ring. I'm still in awe of how beautiful the visuals were and that was on the base PS5 wonder what it's like on the Pro?

Re: Sony's Bluepoint Studio Recruiting for Third-Person Melee Action Game

Jammer

@Oram77 I think if they were going to do BB they'd have done it by now and there is likely some behind the scenes cobblers stopping it from happing we aren't privy to. I'm not fussed with BB because one gen difference upgrade isn't really an issue and PS4 version is still a going concern. Whereas remaking games like the first SH four gens apart is good news.

Re: PS5 Soulslike Code Vein 2 Couldn't Be More Anime If It Tried

Jammer

@ilyn It was that true, it wasn't on par with any other From game perhaps Night Reign aside haven't tried that. But to anyone who beat it well they need praise I mean that final boss anyone who did that I salute you.

But back on topic Code Vein is in no shape or form Souls like. These fraggle rockers may as well be typing Story of Seasons is Souls like!

Re: PS5 Soulslike Code Vein 2 Couldn't Be More Anime If It Tried

Jammer

@DonkeyFantasy Have you played Sekiro? That is the Hill I died upon. Never finished the final boss and will never return to. A difficulty level so absurd you'd need the patience of a saint to complete or the skills of a catlike ninja. Praise to those that did though you gentleman are in a league of your own.

Re: PS5 Soulslike Code Vein 2 Couldn't Be More Anime If It Tried

Jammer

@Oram77 It's the new craze that's sweepin' the nations; label anything "souls-like"! Code Vein isn't neither is SHf. I wonder if it's folkers thinking the difficulty of a Souls game will put others off buying a game and if they have a pet peeve against a franchise or game saying it's "souls-like" will ruin it.

Re: PS5 Soulslike Code Vein 2 Couldn't Be More Anime If It Tried

Jammer

@get2sammyb It's pretty solid also the PS4 original has a nice PS5 friendly update not a full blown native PS5 version but near enough.

And it's not souls-like not sure why it's even lumped in with those games bit like Silent Hill f. The gameplay is more like FF XVI if anything the difficulty sure as Hell isn't souls-like.

Re: Little Nightmares III (PS5) - Faithful Sequel Keeps It Creepy, But Plays It Safe

Jammer

@DuncanMcleod Thing is and I'm no expert couldn't you just add her profile as a friend then pass the controller. Mind you would need either two PS5's or two separate profiles I guess.

I don't know why so many are down on this game, the other two didn't have couch co-op and were pretty near damn perfect. Also considering the ending of two I for one cannot wait to plunge into this. Hope they tie in both endings of one and two though.

Re: Want More Silent Hill on PS5? You May Not Have to Wait Long

Jammer

@Oram77 It would have surely as they wouldn't have had Reedus featuring and him not kicking some derriere. I never got to play it though, was the character in the teaser actually Reedus I guess I should watch it on youtube but then there would be even more "what could have been" jazz. It's up there with the lack of Deadly Premonition 2 on the PS5 for pet hates.

Re: Want More Silent Hill on PS5? You May Not Have to Wait Long

Jammer

@Shinnok789 It's sounding very similar to that free SH game The Message which was OK for free but hardly noteworthy. Personally I'm looking more forward to the remake of the first game by Bloober despite not being a fan of remakes in general.
My main gripe with SHf was the lack of scares especially in the damn netherworld parts, each time Hinako ended up there I cringed as knew things would go downhill. Totally preferred the town and outside settings far more atmosphere if they had nailed that for 75% of the game I'd have been happy but it was a game of two halves literally.

Re: Little Nightmares III (PS5) - Faithful Sequel Keeps It Creepy, But Plays It Safe

Jammer

The demo sold me let alone the stunning Mirror and/or Prism editions. The Mirror edition is a very fair price too let alone tomorrow we also get a free PS5 version of the first game. Good times.

One question about the co-op, if playing with strangers does it mean they aren't muted I can't stand hearing some ned playing r'n'b or metal over a mic gotta mute 'em all!

Re: Oblivion Remastered's Physical PS5 Release Will Include the 'Base Game on Disc'

Jammer

These publishers and/or developers shoot themselves in the foot/or knee in this case. I really wanted to play Oblivion but the negatives rule out a day one purchase. Same as the Life Is Strange Collection, now it's been confirmed 3 out of the 5 games are the PS4 versions again no day one punt. And with the latter the damn remastered versions are supposed to be buggy as Hell and how many years has it been since those were released?

Re: Poll: Vote for Your PS5 Game of the Month (September 2025)

Jammer

I'm torn between Hell Is Us, Silent Hill f and Cronos but would go with Cronos as despite the initial difficulty curve it was pretty much perfect. Whereas Hell Is Us totally lost it's way half way through and Silent Hill f had way too much repetition and combat as dull as dishwater.

I've never known a game that got easier bosses the further you progressed although granted perhaps that was clever uses of the Omamori and maxing out stamina. I don't even think I died once during the last several bosses crazy.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Silent Hill F?

Jammer

@captainsandman To be fair I can see why some would slate SHf simply out of frustration. The repetition of the netherworld levels (crests ad infinitum) and janky combat let alone some of the obtuse puzzles is testing my patience and I love the franchise. Can't judge it properly though till completed one playthrough.

Re: New PS5 Games for October and November 2025

Jammer

Life Is Strange Collection for me this week if and it's a big unconfirmed if LIS, LIS:BTS and LIS2 are actually native PS5 versions and not just the PS4 versions bunged in. Despite the collection dropping this week there are no reviews or unboxing videos to be found anywhere and Square are keeping very quiet too.

Re: Video: These 20 Games Have the Best Graphics on PS5

Jammer

@somnambulance I'm not sure it's like AC but would agree both games are highly over rated. I've played both and enjoyed them somewhat but they never really strike me as out and out classics. I can't even remember how the last DLC ended so it couldn't have left much of an impression story wise either.

Not meaning to stir folkers up but I'd hazard a guess if Aloy was a male character they'd have never been such big hits. A lot of the success came about because the narrative hit at the right time with what was going on in the world then. Whereas if they released today suspect sales wouldn't be as high.

Re: Video: These 20 Games Have the Best Graphics on PS5

Jammer

Holy Hell how is Elden Ring PS5 not on there? Even on the base PS5 as soon as I started the Erdtree DLC the first landscape reveal blew me away. It is jaw dropping literally and easily better than most of the above hands down. It should be number 1 up there and if Sony had any sense they'd use it in their stores as a demo disc to shift PS5's in great(er) quantities.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Silent Hill F?

Jammer

At this point I think 7 out of 10 is very fair. Although am only 1/3 a way through and suspect the game will be far more enjoyable during a second run through for various reasons. The main gripe being a lot of the time you can end up running from the repetitive enemies and miss the opportunity to explore which again I guess will be easier to do during new game plus.

I find the nether world parts off putting and when it feels least like a SH game. That is where the game loses it's way as it's just not like the nether worlds from the western set games or as sinister. However the first hour or so with the Akira soundtrack and certain tips of the hat to the franchise overall you could almost imagine you are playing a retelling of SH1 or 2 so plus points for that.

Re: Silent Hill F Enjoyed an Outstanding PS5 Debut in Japan

Jammer

@Nepp67 It was the puzzle box or the first part that got me, when it mentioned "sweet", "cake" "fruit" "tart" etc. It seemed to point towards choosing those exact items not just the sweet fruits that actually solved it. Also the fact the pictures weren't too clear of what some items were didn't exactly help.

Re: Silent Hill F Enjoyed an Outstanding PS5 Debut in Japan

Jammer

It's unfair to compare it to the original SH games as it was a totally different demographic back then. Bit like inflation you can't factor in profits from decades ago compared to today's prices.
The SH2 Remaster though obviously that's more recent so it's fair game. I'm not totally sold on the game yet, need to perhaps start it from scratch as find the enemy repetition grating let alone the puzzles are a bit obtuse to put it mildly.
