@TooBarFoo I don't know why that depresses you lol. You do you and let others be hyped for a game they have been waiting for. There are many reasons people want to play something when it releases. Maybe they want to experience the story spoiler free, maybe they want to play alongside their friends so they can talk about it. It's really up to them.
Me personally, I refuse the 70 dollar price point but it takes some effort since Sony is waiting about 6 months to come off those prices.. For example Ratchet and Clank just got lowered in Nov. But that means a lot of people will have beat the game and moved on by the time I start it. I'm cool with that personally, but I totally understand someone wanting it asap and it doesn't bother me. I do think I will cave on GT7 though! I have waited way too long for a proper new GT, cannot wait another 6 months.
I might go for a season pass or something but they would have to give me everything they ever make for the game. As it stands you only get the expansions, the armor and weapons add ons you still have to pay for. They nickel and dime you no matter what.
I think the main combat in this game will be with the camera. The VA and the main character are terrible. I remember they released a video bragging about the actress playing this character, and it was just bad. Bad writing or bad acting or bad direction or all three. I also feel like the game industry has gone overboard with female characters lately. I get it was male dominated in the past but it's crazy now how many story leads are now female. I guess I don't mind it, it's just a bit weird that they are overly course correcting.
Man, you would think we have had a GT release per year based on these comments.
The racing is exciting when you are playing it. Paired with a great FFB wheel, nothing comes close to the fun it brings in my opinion. Super excited for this and the return of Deep Forest!
Disregarding the constant milking of the cow, and the bugs on release, it is one of the greatest games ever made. The sheer size is incredible to me still today.
@TBubs311 I loved the whole Egypt setting, and the gear was really fun to acquire.
This game's setting is kind of boring and the gear even worse. Unless you want to look like a wooly mammoth for the entire game, you have to spend money. The dark knight gear is awesome but yep, microtransaction.
@MetalGear_Yoshi I feel the opposite of everything you said. I'm not a die hard, but am a fan and I love these little videos that give more info about the game.
I don't think you are even a fan of GT by what you posted, not sure why you even took the time.
The game is pretty solid though much more enjoyed Origins and Odyssey. The loot usually drives me forward in these games and the viking fur stuff just kinda sucks.
@Th3solution Same here, it seems Sony is sticking to its guns on first party titles a la Nintendo. I have yet to play Demons Souls or Ratchet and Clank because I am waiting for Sony to drop the price. Hopefully as the library gets larger they'll rethink the strategy of keeping the price high 6 months or even a year after release.
I could see a world where Sony saves the R&D costs to build new hardware and sell it at low profit to just delivering their games and making peripherals on pc. No more OS maintenance, move the store to 100% digital delivery to cut out disc production costs and remove reselling physical to maximize profits on games. Hardware wise they might make console PCs running windows and PSVR. Not saying I necessarily want this but it makes a lot of sense.
I played roughly 30 hours and it got boring. 30 hours isn't bad value, but it was a freaking time sink and a half. At some point I said I just can't do another run for a monster bone to get me this green knife.
This is an industry wide problem. As long as the masses continue to buy in, we'll keep seeing this. The only thing you can do is not buy these types of games (or play the "free" ones). It really is a shame that developers creative energy goes to filth like this.
This is actually pretty awesome if it works right. Since caveman times we have had to either manually adjust for each piece of content (no one does this), or just find the best all around settings and hope for the best. A world where each piece of content comes with its own auto calibrated setting, therefore giving us that content in a way the developer wanted us to see it, is frankly an incredible idea. I doubt it catches hold due to the effort involved and the small slice of the population that owns a Sony TV or heck even understands the tech. I wish this was compatible with my Sony projector..
I'm down for offering a different take than the others here. Netflix has revolutionized the way that I watch TV. I don't only watch Netflix, but I am paying a lot less money now for my 3 streaming services than I was spending on cable 8 years ago. Oh and the video and audio quality is wayyyy better. And the content. Shows are so much better now than they were, and it keeps getting better. No commercials (mostly). Bring Netflix gaming the F on, I'm exciting to see what they can do.
I kind of don't want pre-order bonuses. GT is so great because it's your own kind of rags to riches story. If you start out with super cars and 100k in your pocket, it kind of ruins that.
Main character is so annoying, they need to clean this up while they have time. The game has promise but each trailer things look a little worse and a little more stilted. That first trailer was so fluid. They obviously are not going to deliver what we saw there.
@ATaco Yeah the demo wasn't good for me either. I liked the characters okay, but the sum of its parts was less than what I hoped for. I think FFVIIRs battle system may have ruined me for action RPGs. Everything else just pales in comparison.
Better free games. I don't want PSNow bundled if it is going to raise the cost. I don't see why the current format is such a problem. You have a choice by getting the services separately. Bundling will absolutely raise the price. Choices are better than no choices people.
Understanding that this is a gaming site with more people than usual in to anime, but is this really going to move the needle with a lot of people? I just don't think this has mass market appeal. I don't know one person that watches anime. Cool for those that are in to it though.

Re: Chinese Open World RPG Honor of Kings Looks Mind Bogglingly Good
Trailer looks good, but it's being created in the land of smoke and mirrors so I don't expect much.

Re: Star Ocean Is Back with Action RPG The Divine Force on PS5, PS4
I used to love Star Ocean but this looks horrible. The main character looks like a WWE spare.
This needs another 3 years in the cooker
