Re: Game Informer Cover Story Digs into Horizon Forbidden West's Towns, Workbenches, and More

@TooBarFoo I don't know why that depresses you lol. You do you and let others be hyped for a game they have been waiting for. There are many reasons people want to play something when it releases. Maybe they want to experience the story spoiler free, maybe they want to play alongside their friends so they can talk about it. It's really up to them.

Me personally, I refuse the 70 dollar price point but it takes some effort since Sony is waiting about 6 months to come off those prices.. For example Ratchet and Clank just got lowered in Nov. But that means a lot of people will have beat the game and moved on by the time I start it. I'm cool with that personally, but I totally understand someone wanting it asap and it doesn't bother me. I do think I will cave on GT7 though! I have waited way too long for a proper new GT, cannot wait another 6 months.

I think the main combat in this game will be with the camera. The VA and the main character are terrible. I remember they released a video bragging about the actress playing this character, and it was just bad. Bad writing or bad acting or bad direction or all three. I also feel like the game industry has gone overboard with female characters lately. I get it was male dominated in the past but it's crazy now how many story leads are now female. I guess I don't mind it, it's just a bit weird that they are overly course correcting.

@Th3solution Same here, it seems Sony is sticking to its guns on first party titles a la Nintendo. I have yet to play Demons Souls or Ratchet and Clank because I am waiting for Sony to drop the price. Hopefully as the library gets larger they'll rethink the strategy of keeping the price high 6 months or even a year after release.

I could see a world where Sony saves the R&D costs to build new hardware and sell it at low profit to just delivering their games and making peripherals on pc. No more OS maintenance, move the store to 100% digital delivery to cut out disc production costs and remove reselling physical to maximize profits on games. Hardware wise they might make console PCs running windows and PSVR. Not saying I necessarily want this but it makes a lot of sense.

This is actually pretty awesome if it works right. Since caveman times we have had to either manually adjust for each piece of content (no one does this), or just find the best all around settings and hope for the best. A world where each piece of content comes with its own auto calibrated setting, therefore giving us that content in a way the developer wanted us to see it, is frankly an incredible idea. I doubt it catches hold due to the effort involved and the small slice of the population that owns a Sony TV or heck even understands the tech. I wish this was compatible with my Sony projector..

I'm down for offering a different take than the others here. Netflix has revolutionized the way that I watch TV. I don't only watch Netflix, but I am paying a lot less money now for my 3 streaming services than I was spending on cable 8 years ago. Oh and the video and audio quality is wayyyy better. And the content. Shows are so much better now than they were, and it keeps getting better. No commercials (mostly). Bring Netflix gaming the F on, I'm exciting to see what they can do.

Re: Talking Point: How Would You Improve PS Plus?

Better free games. I don't want PSNow bundled if it is going to raise the cost. I don't see why the current format is such a problem. You have a choice by getting the services separately. Bundling will absolutely raise the price. Choices are better than no choices people.

Understanding that this is a gaming site with more people than usual in to anime, but is this really going to move the needle with a lot of people? I just don't think this has mass market appeal. I don't know one person that watches anime. Cool for those that are in to it though.
