Re: 15 Years Ago, Square Enix Released the Most Divisive Final Fantasy Game

The biggest dissapointment I ever had with a game. I made it to the point everyone was saying it "opened up" and was like....this is it? Most of the characters were obnoxious, the story was really hard to follow. It is a shame because the battle system was really cool and Lightnings design was awesome, but the sum of it's parts were just bad. I wouldn't want them to dedicate resources to a remake.

I hope this game is a success. Just because it's a ubi game doesn't meant it doesn't have a ton of great dedicated people working on it. To trash it before it ever gets a chance is pretty bad form. Cautiously optimistic here as getting lost in the Star Wars universe sounds awesome in theory. Let's hope they execute.

Action looks slow and undercooked. They should have showed a segment from later in the game with a few more abilities unlocked. This looks repetitive because the main character has one ability unlocked and then basic attacks. All of the distinct enemies have the same reactions when they are attacked. So if you hit two of the same types of enemies at once they do the same exact animation of taking a hit. That is basic level development, breaks immersion, and just looks stupid. I'll keep my eye on it but they needed to come out swinging and this sort of lackluster showcase is going to hurt them.

@Contimaloris Nah I can see why they did it this way. They aren't locked to any canon and can do or go wherever they like, for example they could do the Jabba scene and have you see Han in the carbonite. I'm sure there will be a lot of Easter eggs and sites that we'll notice from the original trilogy. Ubisoft is good at that world building and history type stuff, hope they do it in this game. That being said I will probably get it when it has the first price drop and bugs are worked.

@Jayslow 100%. Valhalla sucked mainly because the setting was drab and boring to me. The equipment was mostly stupid looking, leathers and cloth and running around looking like you are wearing 10 fabric coats at the same time. This has potential to have badass weapons and armor and a great setting. I probably won't finish it, but will get a good 50 hours of fun in before I move to the next game and that's just fine to me. I'm hoping the main character is quick and nimble amd can flip over *****.
