Square Enix first showcased this boss battle gameplay from Final Fantasy VII Remake at Tokyo Game Show 2019, but that footage had Japanese commentary over the top of it. Now, the publisher has uploaded a clean version of the fight, and while the gameplay still looks fantastic, it's the music that's really the star of the show here.
This is the remake's version of the Final Fantasy VII battle theme, and in short, it's glorious. Final Fantasy VII already had a stellar soundtrack -- the work of legendary composer Nobuo Uematsu, of course -- but the score could be taken to new heights with Final Fantasy VII Remake.
We can't wait to hear more.

Personally, I’d prefer the whole game used orchestral style instead of the cringey metal that Advent Children used but it’s definitely sounding good.
Battle music is GENERIC.
Im speechless
Yeah it’s good, it’s really good, I still remember it 20+ years later lol.
Sounds good. The combat reminds me of Dragon Age 2/Inquisition.
Goosebumps. This is still one of the best battle songs in a video game.
God, I love this battle theme.
Wow, that's such a wonderful remake of the battle theme.
I wonder if the old Boss Battle theme has been remade in it, strange we've only heard the random battles theme. Although it sounds god damn great 😍
@Dubya75 generic? Seriously? The FF7 battle music is exceptionally good!

The overrun from 54 seconds 🥰
This isn’t the boss battle music though, will all battles have the same music?
I Do not usually allow music in games Harvest moon a new beginning would be played more often if I could switch the music off thank god story of seasons trio of towns gives you an option to turn music off.
That said Final Fantasy VII I do allow music the only 1 game I will allow.
Im not crying, your crying! It looks soooo good. 😍😍
@kyleforrester87 thats what im wondering! They couldnt have left the Boss Theme out 🤔🤔
@Dubya75 it's a remix of a classic song that's 22 years old and it sounds awesome
@SuperSilverback i have heard the boss theme in a video so i'm pretty sure it's in there
@FullbringIchigo SHOW ME
@Dubya75 No amount of thumbs down will ever match the cluelessness of this comment.
This is one of the most classic, recognizable and revered battle themes in the history of video gaming.
@kyleforrester87 No, the scorpion clearly has the Boss Theme. I think this song is shoehorned in this clip in order to showcase the entire battle theme in one battle.
@Nickolaidas nice, thanks. I didn’t watch that video with sound before.

Fan made, but 90% accurate. Give it a whirl.
I didn't actually recognise the theme at all til Kyle posted the original to be honest @Nickolaidas . Only played it a few years back but... III's, IV's & X's are more memorable to me 😅
Hopefully Aeirth's theme and One Winged Angel haven't been altered at all from the orchestral versions they did though as they are beautiful!
Sounds epic! Each new reveal looks more tantalising. Can't wait to get my hands and listen/play the final game.
Coming from someone who only played FF7 20 years after it came out, the score in that game will be hard to top. Judging from this though, I think they'll be fine.
@YozenFroghurt But this is still a full length JRPG, even if it's based on a small segment of the original. It is the entire game. Everything else will be sequels.
It's good, but I'm not into action games, thankfully there is still the original.
