@Odium I’m still playing the first. But Niohs combat is absolutely immaculate. It lacks Froms level design and boss fights however so far. Sekiro is more or less a perfect game in my view. Such a complete experience that keeps its eyes on the prize all the way through.

Just give me gears damnit!

BB is 2nd only to Sekiro. Honestly none of the other From souls games kept my interest through the end other than those two. Sekiro is just a focused and engaging from beginning to end for me. I prefer the faster combat of those two. Elden ring had me for a while but the game is just too dang long.

Plugging away at Nioh still. Another commenter turned me to focusing on armor and the bonuses from them rather than on straight stats ala dark souls. Thank you whoever that was. It was a big change in how I’ve been playing!

I really feel like it’s going to appear at the switch 2 direct.

My body is ready. Returnal is game of the gen for me so far. Hopefully this surpasses it!

Indies have really been doing some heavy lifting this gen in terms of what’s catching my interest.

Can’t wait to comment on the article about that studio getting shut down after their failed liver service game flops.

So hyped for this game. Not the collector edition of course. Because I’m a cheap *****. But I will 100% be getting this game once it’s 50% off.

If it’s not a live service game that’s going to be canceled and eventually shut the dev down, I’m going to be very disappointed in Sony.

I'm excited for a lot of the new IPs coming this year. This probably won't make 2025. But if it did. This is a game I'm not terribly excited for so far. The trailer gave me marvel movie vibes, and for my money I'm beyond tired of marvel movies and that style of story telling. Hopefully I'm wrong. When NG is rolling their games are so special.

Looks like it has potential! This is the first year I’m super excited for what this gen has to offer. There have definitely been great games along the way. But as far as a through out the year line up. ‘25 is looking pretty pretty pretty decent

I wonder how I’d feel about it now if I went back to it. I never finished it when it came out and was so put off by it I didn’t play a nother final fantasy until ff7r.

@twitchtvpat my bad. I should have been more clear. I was referring to the early access portion only. Not the deluxe edition extras.

That being said. It’s doesn’t really bother me too much. It’s not something I’d really want to pay extra for. But it is kind of sleazy.

Even if only a hand full suckers pay extra to play a few days early it makes it worth it to the publisher/devs. It costs pretty much nothing to them to milk a few extra dollars out of people who can’t wait.

Oh man! This is probably the most excited I’ve been for a game since uncharted 2. Any game with a character named Die Hardman has my support.

Plugging away at Nioh. Just finished the second region and the third region just hit me like a brick. I felt like i was making good progress then that just came to a screeching halt. I gotta rethink how I’m approaching the game and re work my build a little. Just don’t feel like I’m doing any damage anymore and everything is 2 shoting me. Still hooked. Gonna figure out what I need to do without grinding levels and get through this.

Uncharted 2 multiplayer was S tier for me. Played that so much. Back in the good ole free PSN days.

This has my full attention. Love a new IP. Will be there to support if it turns out great!

There is a beta testing program that you don't even have to sign up for! Its called buying a game on release.

Finally got around to starting Nioh. Always wanted to get into these games and it’s got me hooked. Team ninja just knows combat. It’s so fun and addictive. The level design isn’t my favorite. But I’m loving just about every other aspect of the game. Except the water level with all the spots to fall in. Ooof… rage. Almost threw my ps portal across the room when I lost all my amrita by drowning. Great stuff though!

Ps2 doesn’t rank as high for me because I was clinging onto hope that my Dreamcast would survive the generation. Alas, I eventually caved, sold it and got a ps2. It was around the time my interest in gaming waned for quite some time. I didn’t really get back into it until I got a ps4pro.
I always had consoles and gamed a bit. Especially for halo 3 and gears of war.

But if I ranked the PlayStations:

Pretty easy call on those for me. I find myself mostly playing older games on ps5 with only a few games this gen that really got me. Returnal and cyberpunk 2.0+ phantom liberty being those.

Ps2 is a close second. PSX forever baby!

@DennisReynolds yea man. No ray tracing and 60fps = rip off. But it’s fine. I’m playing through back log now. Plenty of time to fix the game up before I get around to it anyway.

@DennisReynolds I’m not going to split hairs over exact wording. I’m just saying. It was sold as a marriage of performance and fidelity. And I feel like it under delivered. Not saying it isn’t better. It is. Just not enough. But it is what it is. I bought it. So I only have myself to blame.

Did mark cerny say something about not having to pick between performance and fidelity anymore? I seem to remember that being a thing once…. I got a pro because I prefer framerate but would like to get the best out of the games I buy. Starting to feel like I got snake oiled a bit.

That’s so frustrating that with the pro we’re still having to pick a performance mode to get 60fps…..

It’s a great game. But I personally am fine letting sleeping dogs lay. Not everything needs a remaster or remake.

All these articles about it is only encouraging them to actually do it.
