Buoyed by waves of positive player feedback, it feels like Battlefield is about to return in a big way.
EA's military shooter series has certainly had its ups and downs over the years — some of which have been pretty extreme — but the publisher will be hoping that Battlefield 6 places the property on an all-new pedestal.
As alluded, the game's various beta tests have gone down rather well, and so it'll be interesting to see whether the hype carries through into the full release. Fingers crossed that the servers actually hold up over this opening weekend, eh?

Meanwhile, critic reviews for Battlefield 6 are out there, but it's so difficult to properly judge a game like this until it's publicly available, and matches are fully populated with real players.
That's why, as you may have noticed, we've stuck to reviewing the single-player campaign up until now, which is... well, it's fine, but it's not what most people will be jumping into a Battlefield title for anyway.
"For us, the campaign's a nice starter while we’re waiting for the main meal. It showcases how great the gunplay feels and how nice the game looks as a whole. But it’s not breaking any boundaries from a narrative, mechanical, or immersive perspective," is what we wrote in our Battlefield 6 PS5 review in progress.
