One Player Just Unlocked PlayStation's Impossible Platinum Trophy 1

One of the most difficult Platinum Trophies in PlayStation history has finally officially been unlocked.

This weekend, Japanese player Tqvry unlocked the final trinket in Team Ninja’s PS Vita port of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

For those who don’t know, the game requires you to complete a series of gruelling co-op missions on Turbo speed to unlock its final Dynamic Duo gong.

The problem? The game doesn’t support online play, so you’re forced to work alongside a braindead AI. And despite the speed increases, the PS Vita port chugs at 30fps, instead of its originally intended 60fps.

To prove his accomplishment, Tqvry streamed his nine hour gaming session which culminated in the all-important Trophy unlocking. He’s the only person in the world with proof of doing it legitimately.

This is now being acknowledged as the pinnacle feat in Trophy hunting. While there are plenty of extremely challenging Platinums, it’s anticipated Tqvry will end up the only person in the world with this gong – although we suppose others may now be encouraged to replicate his feat.

Either way, we’re impressed. One for the next edition of Going Platinum, Stephen Tailby?
