@Ken_Kaniff right this entire gen so far I’ve only played demon souls remake, returnal, CO33, and soon death stranding 2 for games that aren’t available on the PS4. Worst generation for new games ever.

Sammy, I like your articles way more when it’s things like your last RE article. This glazing, softening, or normalizing of higher prices isn’t it. There’s literally no way making the fleecing of people who love a hobby sound positive or something that should be accepted. Even if the robbery starts at basic components that Sony doesn’t even make. They’re all raising prices so their bonuses don’t get hit. The more people justifying this trash the more it will keep happening.

@LeeBB_Art I’m a 20 or below game buyer these days. I was going to get saros day 1. But this news soured my interest in supporting Sony in that way. I’ll just buy physical games second hand rather than put money in Sonys pockets.

Funny thing is dev times will continue to get longer as well. So we’ll be lucky if some first party studios even release 1 game in the ps6 lifespan.

@EK42 Right there with you. It's a bummer. But fortunately I'm at a point in life where gaming is becoming more difficult to find time for anyway. If I drop it completely nothing will really be lost. Besides I have a backlog that will keep me busy for years at the rate I complete games. After that it's time to read more books. lol. But Im over giving scummy companies my money if I can help it.

@Rich33 sure. You don’t think those guys could stand to loose a little of their golden parachute to mitigate these issues? The answer is a resounding no. They’ll pump prices and rake more profits in. Until people start speaking with their wallets nothing will change. Which is why it won’t change.

What the f is happening…. It’s supposed to get cheaper not more expensive as the gen goes on. Sony just L after L after L this gen. At least they learned and course corrected during the ps3 era. This bungling is mind blowing. This will more than likely be my last console at this rate.

@Ed_Zeppelin same. I play one epic a year. Even then it’s hard. I’ve stalled out on death stranding, even though I love that game. As someone with a very demanding job it’s hard to find the motivation to put into a game I know I won’t be able to finish in 3 months.

There’s a very simple solution here, first things first cut management salary and bonuses they haven’t earned what they’re making, guaranteed. Then make games with a clear vision and execute ala Godzilla minus one. If you plan before executing, rather than executing and making adjustments of the fly all the time… guess what? You’ll save A LOT of money in dev costs.

Once all the dlc dropped and the game is fully patched I’ll be there day 1. I kid a little. I’ll buy release day 1 to support the dev. But I’ll wait until the game is in its final form before I play it. Returnal is my game of the generation so far. There’s little to no doubt this will be up there as well!

@BleedingDreamer you’ve seen these comment boards before. You know, just like when a studio closes they’ll all come out talking about how chasing gaas success is bad. All Sony has to do is drop a wolverine trailer and everyone moves on. You can see it in the marathon comments. No one is willing to speak with their wallets. They’ll keep pumping the bad business practices with their hard earned money.

Not much of a fighter guy. But I do love guilty gear. They very rarely disappoint.
