Re: PS3 Emulation Allegedly in Production for PS5

GamingVeteran

@Deadlyblack They didn't shoot themselves in the foot. Sony actually takes risks on things with each console, when they made The Cell processor it was way ahead of its time. They only got rid of it with PS4 to save on production/development costs. There is a reason that to this day its so hard to emulate, its a strong complicated processor.

Re: Sony Establishes PlayStation PC Label to Spearhead Porting Push

GamingVeteran

@AhmadSumadi "Yet Series X is the fastest selling XBOX console" Is it though?. I mean Xbox One's lifetime sales was only like 50 million units, after that they started to hide their sales numbers. I wouldn't trust Microsoft numbers. And yes once games start appearing on PC at launch there is literally no need for a console if you have a gaming pc.

Re: Returnal Update 2.0 Finally Lets You Suspend Your Run

GamingVeteran

@MatthewJP The complainers like the ones pushing this are the ones ruining gaming, and ruining the visions of developers. Cant play a game for 1 hour?, it doesn't take all day to play it. My comment gets removed from mods, but its ok to crap all over devs all day on here, makes sense I guess.

Re: Cosplay as Ellie and Abby in Sackboy: A Big Adventure This Week

GamingVeteran

@ThroughTheIris56 In what way exactly?. And how is Ellie any different in this scenario?. They are both plain looking skins of female characters. You like most people, are just being a sad Sack(boy) that a character in a video game died, due to a perfectly written story. It happened a while ago, get over it already.

Re: GTA Online Weekly Update: 16th September, 2021

GamingVeteran

@stefan771 I'm pretty sure it is, when you keep giving them money for online microtransactions they start to get complacent, and don't need another game. New trailer after trailer, nothing but the same game.

Fun Fact: GTA V has now spanned 3 console generations.

Re: Sony Will Make You Pay Extra to Upgrade Horizon Forbidden West from PS4 to PS5

GamingVeteran

@Gamakazil Then enlighten us, what is the issues with the game then? Because you and everyone else only say the same ONE thing. You probably don't even know why you hate it. And that is sad.

Sony will be just fine. I'm sure they don't care about this little site who's users apparently don't buy any games.

The entire "downgrade" arguments are probably due to the fact PS5's are being manufactured slowly due to shortages of materials. So to try to make money, they downgrade which is easy to do, in order to still make game sales. Seems simple to me.

Re: Talking Point: Did Sony Lie About PS5?

GamingVeteran

The easiest answer as to why games are being announced for PS4 that previous said PS5 exclusive, might have something to do with PS5's being in short supply. The microchip shortage has put a massive delay in production and there is no real sign of them speeding up.

Re: Biomutant (PS4) - The Classic Case of What Could Have Been

GamingVeteran

@The_New_Butler I know the history but this crash was exaggerated and pretty much only affected the US console market (outside NA you barely felt it).

The same story could be said about the early 90's when it got over saturated with consoles and games which then had the weak ones die off. There was like 10 different consoles around then too. After 80% of those failed only a few remained and gaming was better off for it. Its the same cycle, the only difference was arcades were already on the way out and PC's base was already established so the drop on the chart wasn't as noticeable.

Re: Biomutant (PS4) - The Classic Case of What Could Have Been

GamingVeteran

@The_New_Butler Sure not all games are E.T., but still groundbreaking for that time none the less and most were on the same level, you are just nit picking to make a point. But gaming almost didn't survive? lmao, not sure what universe you have been living in, its been in a constant up rise.
If you played Gauntlet then, you would know how far beyond that was to other games at that time, it had drop in or out co op. You can't seem to separate gaming generations anymore.

Re: Biomutant (PS4) - The Classic Case of What Could Have Been

GamingVeteran

@The_New_Butler Sorry but no, see the problem you are having is you are comparing those games to todays games. The games back then were ground breaking for that era. Color reskinning enemy pixels was a simple way to add variety to enemies while saving space on a already tiny file restriction. And none of those games you mention you could beat in 2 hours back then.

Re: Biomutant (PS4) - The Classic Case of What Could Have Been

GamingVeteran

@KundaliniRising333 Everything you said is false. Without reviews of random people you don't know, the game industry would be completely fine. The fact companies use people as testers is because gamers have become more and more use to mediocrity. The 80's and 90's were just fine without 4000 reviews for a game.

Re: Returnal Team Out to Prove It's More Than Just the 'Resogun Studio'

GamingVeteran

@Loftimus Seriously, enough talking about record profits like you have any clue how much these companies spend. It's called the game industry for a reason. These are businesses that intend to make money, and to use some of those profits for future projects.
These things cost money to make, publishers and developers have to pay employees and other contractors too. When companies make a huge yearly profit do you think all their items should go on sale forever? no that's not how business works.
Why do "gamers" like yourself think that everything should be free for you?. You cry and moan non stop on every article about game prices as if playing a game is a standard of living, when gaming is a recreational hobby not a necessity of life. If you can't afford it, you might need to think about your priorities and maybe give gaming a rest.

Re: Hands On: Why You Should Be Hyped for Returnal, the Next Great PS5 Exclusive

GamingVeteran

@BrintaPap "What kind of elite do you think you are for saying that people should stop gaming" Nothing elitist about it, I'm just getting sick and tired of hearing about pricing in every single article being posted. You all are acting like game prices are taking actual food off your table, and if it is there's a simple solution, stop gaming and eat.

But a helpful tip to everyone that's been around since PS3 days

Make a US account
Buy US PSN cards online
Buy your games on US PSN Store
Enjoy 20 dollars off your games

Your welcome.

Re: Hands On: Why You Should Be Hyped for Returnal, the Next Great PS5 Exclusive

GamingVeteran

Everyone is ok paying 1000's for phones every other year, and almost 1000 for a console, but 70 dollar games!!! OMG!!!BOYCOTT!!.....Stop whining about the price of games, its unbelievable to me that nobody wants to support developers anymore. At the same time those are the ones crying and moaning that games come out sloppy and buggy. A lot of you need to just stop gaming.

Re: Days Gone Director on Skipped Sequel: 'If You Love a Game, Buy It at F***ing Full Price'

GamingVeteran

The reason a lot of games are releasing as "buggy messes" as a lot of you put it, is because a lot of gamers want things cheap or free. Developers have less resources to work with, which makes them cut corners in development. Cutting corners means "buggy messes", so I agree with him when he says buy games at full price. @Carl-G who posted above me, YES that is bad. You can't afford $70 games but can afford $1000 console and $1000 phones every other year. Support game developers or get bad games from now on.

Re: Sony Planning PS Now in India as PS5 Software Struggles

GamingVeteran

@Medic_Alert Nothing you said justifies lowering prices, nothing. Nobody is apologizing for companies. In your mind, the gaming industry having a record number of users/buyers that they should lower prices? Like what is your reasoning behind that. These companies are businesses, they make money, reinvest money, repeat. And if you have been gaming as long as you said, then you would know that prices in the 90's were the same now and higher in some cases.

Re: Sony Planning PS Now in India as PS5 Software Struggles

GamingVeteran

@Medic_Alert Sorry you are wrong. It's not an excuse that development costs on video games rival movie productions now. Maybe you don't understand how inflation works. Hell I'm old enough to remember a lot of SNES games being $70, this price increase should have happened a long time ago. The other things you mention (DLC, microtransactions etc.) are optional things you don't need to buy, so mentioning them is pointless. And predatory tactics...seriously? That is a parent problem, kids should be learning reasoning skills in school instead of gaming all day.

Re: Sony Planning PS Now in India as PS5 Software Struggles

GamingVeteran

Why does everyone think Sony started the whole $70 dollar games thing? Wasn't it Take-Two that first brought it out announcing it with NBA 2k. It's called development costs and inflation people, get use to it. Besides, I thought you all wanted to support your favorite developers? or is that gone now too? Being negative towards everything seems to be the new norm lately.

Re: Poll: Is PlayStation Losing Ground to Xbox?

GamingVeteran

More Playstation doom and gloom articles every day on PushSquare, this is getting real tired. Everyone complaining about 70 dollar games I don't get it. When did everyone suddenly stop wanting to support the developers of video games by buying them?
