@zebric21 Probably not. Remember the chip shortage will affect the PS4, as well. Sony won't be devoting scarce resources to producing a last-gen console.

@JB_Whiting I really get your frustration as a fellow DS fan, but it's because DS3 ran things into the ground (IMO) that they'll need to reboot. A remake/reimagining of 1 (I'm assuming that's what it is, anyway) followed by a new DS2 and DS3 that make more sense and go in a more horror-themed direction could be really good.

@Icey664 You wouldn't want to waste your money. I'd wait a year, then just pretend each DLC are new shorter AC games.

Christ. The Covid 19/new generation 2 year release-lull is really driving gamers mad, isn't it? If gamers don't have enough games to play, go for a walk or read a book or something, don't do ridiculous crap like this. I hate this console war crap. We should want all the VG companies to be at their best, not their worst. In 10-15 years time, we'll all just be jumping between the PS/Xbox/Nintiendo game streaming services, anyway. .

@HunkyJunk I guess we'll see. This'll definitely be in the 'interested but wait for reviews before getting too excited' category for me. Then again, most games not called 'Resident Evil', 'Red Dead' or 'Deus Ex' are in that category

Yeah, Sony's definitely in arrogant SONY/PS3 or MS/Xbox One mode. They switch like bloody clockwork, don't they?
I'll get the PS4 version of GOT: Gold Edition (on sale) as I never played it at launch, but once I've cleared my PS4 backlog, I'm going to be very much on the fence about whether I get an XSX + GamePass or a PS5. I'll have to see where both companies are in a year or so's time. £70 a game vs £10-ish a month for unlimited games is bloody ridiculous. If MS get Game Pass streaming working on my crummy laptop, I won't need any consoles at all! Sony need to think things through.

'New mechanics inspired by later entries'? Oooh, not sure about that. DS3's mechanics were part of what made it such a poor horror game.

@mucc A SH walking simulator could be really good. When people think of SH, do they really think of the combat?

@Icey664 Sadly that won't happen until the install base it much bigger. I'm guessing late 2022.

@2cents TBH, I'm surprised the season pass doesn't include a remaster of FC2. That seemed to be the trend.

@Blacksmith1985 I agree. (Luckily, 9th gen version is free for 8th gen owners). I'm not touching CP 2077 until the fully patched PS5 version with all free and paid DLC is available.

@Xenomorph_79 Even when they were going to do it, you still had the option to redownload games you'd already bought. If the servers were fully deactivated, physical gamers wouldn't be much better off, as you wouldn't be able to download any patches or DLC

I almost wish these DLC were standalone (without the need for the main game) for people who might want a more compact AC experience.

@Marquez I'm working on clearing my PS4 and Steam backlog until the 'days of play' sale, when I check my wishlist. RE8 and ME Trilogy are pretty hard to resist, though...

So is EA Play essentially Game Pass but for EA games?

I will never understand why we all agree that gunning down civilians in GTA left right and centre is just fine, but shooting animals is some weird controversy. It's bizarre to me. Obviously you need limits, somewhere, (e.g. child characters in games) but animals? Especially ones that are attacking you? What's the problem?

@TraCuz- Why? None of this debacle (and yes, I agree it's a debacle) affects games released on PS5/PC right now and in the future. That said, maybe a PS5 boycott IS a good idea, a nasty sudden drop in profit might give Sony a kick up the arse to get PS1, 2 and 3 emulation working on PS5. It's definitely possible if they're willing to spend the time and money.

It's selling ok, but nowhere near enough for Sony to spend much time and money on courting Japanese gamers. They abandoned (or are abandoning) console gaming, not the other way around.

@kingtoten This is the first game, it's just an improved edition of it. It's gotten very good reviews, too.

@ShiningStar I agree with you on the TV dramas. I hate this trend of weekly releases made to keep people subscribed for longer. I just wait until the whole thing is released and watch one or two episodes a day! That's the best way for me, as I don't like watching two series (or playing two games) at once.

@RBMango This 100%. Sony are approaching 2005 era Sony with how arrogant and wrong-headed they seem to be acting. Calling them out and withholding custom are good for the company, because it'll force them to make better, more pro-consumer decisions.

@Shstrick I'm pretty sure Joe Casual Public love GamePass, too. Hardcore Sony fans will buy PS5s (when they can bloody find them) and £70 games just fine, but when JC Public see GP's offering and price, it'll seem like a no-brainer to them. Again, it's good as it'll force Sony to make interesting, pro-consumer decisions.

@Rob_230 I'm guessing people are getting rubbed the wrong way by how bad the PS5's games' values seem compared to Game Pass. This massive upheaval in game consumption, kind of makes Sony look like a rip-off merchant even though they're doing what was seen as normal, a year ago. It's good really, though. When publishers feel the heat and have their backs against the wall, that's when we get their best efforts.

@RogerRoger To be fair, that game was released on a newer engine and looked noticeably better than LIS1 and BTS. I guess they didn't feel that it needed a remaster

@Playstation I will never understand this logic. If shooting humans left right and centre is fine in games, why are people so squeamish about shooting animals? Especially animals that are basically mythical to all intents and purposes. (i.e. They probably won't have feathers etc.) If this really is the reason we never get dinosaur games, then this is the one 'anti-snowflake' thing, I'll get behind.

I'm really looking forward to this. I've held off buying the game until all the DLC is out. Does it run OK on OG PS4, without making it sound like it's going to take off?

@Tigerhoodman Short answer: Yes, they're awesome (OK ME3's ending is...not perfect,but still play it) Long answer: Yes and why on Earth would not playing the originals mean you can't play the remasters?! The whole point of stuff like this is to introduce new people.

I just assumed it was an Xbox One exclusive, and that's why I stopped hearing things about it

@Amin1998 For what it's worth, you can switch the tank controls to regular analog controls with sprint always on, on the Origins collection. That's what I do. You're stuck with the fixed camera, sadly.

Remember, you'll get the Hitman 2 levels on H3 for free, and the H1 levels as well, if you own that (or you can essentially download them as DLC).
