I really thought we'd left this discourse behind years ago. Refering to story driven games as not a real game isn't clever.

When have we heard this before? I'm sure this and the Horizon Multiplayer game(s?) will do well enough. What happened to Fair games, or whatever it was called?

Yeah, if these port were selling millions on PC, it'd arguably be worth the expense and controversy from console fans. For these tiny numbers, what's the point? Especially as releasing day-and-date is out of the question.

@MrPeanutbutterz It definitely has a similar feel to TLOU, but 'poor knock off' seems extremely unfair to me. I enjoyed it more than TLOU in some cases.

@WILLBACRIMP This is the first I've heard of it. I always get confused when these games get crazily over hyped out of nowhere

@Hyena_socks I'm not the most perceptive person ever, what examples of poor actions in the TV show stood out for you? Do you mean main characters or minor ones?

Presumably the Venom stuff will be folded into that?

This is why I scoff when people say 'physical is best because it isn't reliant on servers'. Yes it is.

TBH, if those Sony pc games aren't selling enough to a) offset porting costs and b) offset any 'damage' to the PS brand/exclusivity then they shouldn't bother.

I get that Sony are probably freaking out over the memory price hike, the fact that fewer and fewer people are playing video games instead of smartphone stuff and that an increasing percentage of that video game time is taken up by live services. But how does shutting BP games help?! You'd think a relatively cheap remake studio would be a reliable pillar to keep doing what it does best in the background.

@Boxmonkey We've basically got only Marathon, Fair games and that Horizon game left, now. TBH, I can't imagine all them succeeding.

It's sold pretty well and probably didn't cost much to make. Debatable if they'll manage the same thing twice though.

If a FC series must exist, those two creatives are a great choice.

This has been said 10 billion times, but Obsidian should release a FO game between TOW 2 and (presumably) TOW 3

I didn't care more it at all. It was sort of dull and meandering and bloated in that way that OW games frequently can be.

@Robocod I think the cross gen period will be at least 4 years. Especially if the portable version of the PS6 is similar to a PS5 in power.

So Nintendo have a hybrid version and portable-only version, and Sony will have a hybrid version and a console-only version?

Oh God, I'm bracing for the usual 'It'll certainly cost at least $800, and that's not a problem as everyone buys a new iPhone each year!' comments. IMO, it'll cost $100 more then the PS5 does, now.

Honestly, what would be the problem in sony games coming to pc/Switch2/Xbox after about 3 years?

I think it's fine. Xbox did the 3rd party thing because they were doing badly, not the other way round! I'm a PS fan and I wouldn't mind if Sony released their first party games to Xbox and Switch 2 after say 3 years.

@Northern_munkey Yes. I add everything I want on my wishlist. Wait for a big sale and but the 4 most heavily discounted things on there. Rinse and repeat.

Marathon, Fairgames and that Horizon MMO are the only holdouts left, right?

Wouldn't a better compromise just have been for dialogue choices to slightly change the PC's personality and relationships rather than change major story beats?

The other thing I want to add, is will first party PS4 games ever look dated to the casual gamer? I don't think so. GTA 5 dates from 2014, and looks much closer to games now than a 2004 game would look to 2014. As so on ever 20 years etc.

The absolute key is Sony (or many publishers) not wanting to show games too early. Why do people want to know about something they won't see for 2+ years, anyway? We know about Ghost of Yotei and DS2 already. The most information we'll get now before late this year is more info about those two games.
