Sony is really back into the swing of things as yet another digital sale hits the PlayStation Store today. The theming for this line-up of discounts is Critics Choice, which means we've got some discounts for the latest and greatest PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 games. All these deals will be live through until midnight on 17th February 2021. Both EU and US users can take advantage of these deals right now. So, without further ado, let's take a look at what we've got.
For PS5 games, we've got Immortals Fenyx Rising coming in at £35.99/$35.99, Madden NFL 21 is £29.99/$29.99, and the Champions Edition of FIFA 21 is discounted to £22.39/$19.99. There's also the Gold Edition of Assassin's Creed Valhalla for £67.99/$66.99 and Watch Dogs Legion down to £35.99/$29.99. The Pathless is reduced to £23.99/$31.99 and Dead by Daylight is £12.49/$14.99. It is mostly the usual line-up of PS5 titles that have been discounted in the past, unfortunately. Let's hope more are included soon.
Over on the PS4 side of things, the awesome Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has its price lowered to £44.99/$44.99, DOOM Eternal is just £18.14/$19.79, and Resident Evil 3 comes in at £16.49/$19.79. We've also got Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 for £29.99/$29.99, EA Sports UFC 4 down to £29.99/$29.99, and Red Dead Redemption 2 is £27.49/$29.99. Ghost of Tsushima comes in at £39.04/$40.19, Mafia: Definitive Edition is £26.24/$29.99, and Shady Part of Me gets a speedy reduction to £9.59/$11.99.
If you can't find anything you like in this new sale, don't forget that the Remasters and Retro sale is still live for another week. Have you spotted a good deal? Share your digital haul in the comments below.

Another one? Amazing but I unfortunately cannot this time. I already bought Metro Redux and Metro Exodus Gold Edition, both of them on sale on PSN, just this past weekend. Excited to try this series i have heard great things about.
PSN sales can be marvelous for every type of gamer. If I had not bought the games mentioned above, i would of bought Tony Hawk's Pro Skater I + II to relive adolescent memories. I hope someone finds something in this sale.
More people should jump on Tony Hawk 1&2, it’s absolutely brilliant and the challenge system provides hundreds of hours worth of fun.
@Eadgar I played the Metro Trilogy last year and would highly recommend it, Exodus in particular is seriously great stuff.
Immortals is a really fun time, and it’s worth that price.
@nessisonett Thanks for reassuring me i bought great games. I am looking forward to my playthrough of them. I might start this weekend if I can finish Horizon Zero Dawn by then but I doubt it.
Nice to see at least a couple of new additions such as Afterparty finally getting its first sale being a late 2019 title & Soldner X2.
@LiamCroft I did see this recent tweet by WayForward which seems to backup the rumoured "invite only" curated nature of psn sales & how its inconsistently locking out some indies from sales whilst others have enjoyed multiple opportunities. 🤔
https://twitter.com/WayForward/status/1356409012774785025
Games like the Shantae series,or Cursed Castilla & Super Hydorah by Abylight have gone years without sales,& others like River City Girls, Castle Crashers Remastered,Battle Princess Madelyn etc.,have never seen a a psn discount! 😕
Another sale that Pyre isn't part of..been waiting a long time for that one. Still, a pretty good list of games here.
Wow this legit just saved me $10. Was gonna buy the Resident Evil 2/3 bundle for $30 tonight but I’ll just wait to get 3 tomorrow for $20 instead. I’ve beaten 2 many times so I didn’t want to re-buy it.
Edit: so for the US this is where the sale link takes you. It shows all the games but not the sale prices.

Wouldn't call modernwarfare awesome tbh lol even at £44.99 still not worth the price...also I wonder which game on this list or following sale ends up free on +...
I am really hoping for TLOU II.
Unfortunately, with it being impossible to buy physical games in store currently, many people may see these prices as actually being good value.
The Pathless for 23.99 seems like a pretty good deal. Definitely getting on Afterparty though. Been waiting ages for that to go on sale
@thefourfoldroot they are
@Wormold
Me too, though I did get Doom Eternal Deluxe Edition for only €32.99 that's a €67 saving on its normal price!
@Wormold I played the demo this week and was pleasantly surprised by it. Wish I'd bought that instead of Assassin's (which I've barely touched really, had a wander around my local area and a few towns/cities I know but have no incentive to go back to it). But with Hitman, God of War update, the latest PS+ games and all the season pass additions to Civ, i really can't justify spending money lol
@naruball
? If you don’t count the inherent resale value of physical, and wish to have all your games collect dust until you become dust yourself, then sure. Otherwise, no, net cost for physical is around a quarter of these prices.
Spelunky 2 for £12 though..tempting
Its a testament to the quality of Modern Warfare and how many play it that the price remains so high.
£44.99 is hardly a sale when it can be purchased on eBay for £30. But it is truly a return to form for the franchise from both a Campaign and Multiplayer standpoint.
Unlike Black Ops Cold War which is just...deep sigh
@Wormold I got it for £26 off Ebay with a voucher. I haven't played it yet tho, I'm still getting through Valhalla
what time does this go live then?
@thefourfoldroot a lot of us just have no interest in physical games any more.
in my case I would never give up the convenience of not having to swap around discs anymore, especially with the speed that PS5 loads and swaps between gsmes. I couldn't care less about trade-in. I bought a PS5 digital because I haven't used a disc for years.
And yet, whenever there's an article on here for digital sales, you can guarantee a physical zealot will pop up in the comments to tell everyone like me that they're wrong, that the sales are crap, that they'll never give up discs, blah blah blah.
@thefourfoldroot hahaha. Good one.
Something tells me you didn't make the debate team if that's all you can come up with.
Hmm, Immortals or AC Valhalla? Gonna wander around the Badlands in my Shion Coyote and ponder this.
In fact, I'm just going to put all such physical peasants on instanr ignore and thus avoid having to read any more of the tired old arguments they whine out!
Done!
@naruball
And you clearly didn’t make the debate team if your instinct is to mock rather than argue a point.
Fact remains, compared to ownership of physical games, digital is far more expensive. If you have any point to the contrary feel free to mention it.
@ShiningStar
Where did I say you were wrong? I simply stated an incontrovertible fact that digital is more expensive than physical. I didn’t say that extra expense had to mean more to you than the convenience of not having to swap discs. By implying the current digital rights are not a problem, the only people you are hurting are digital buyers like yourself.
@nessisonett I agree Metro is great. I love the slower pace of the games compared to other shooters. Every move you make has to be considerate, managing your ammo, healthpacks, chosing what gear to craft and update. So many options to consider, especially on higher difficulty. You can't just go in guns blazing.
Only downside is the godawfull voice acting. I tried switching to russian but it was still terrible lol
Just bought immortals thanks
@Rob_230 Afterparty,yep a longtime coming! Like Blazing Chrome,will be all over this given the wait!
Much like when Timespinner & Chasm got their first sales, the fomo was strong with buying them too!...At least they both seem to be on the invite list for the sales now,seen them a couple of times! Just wish there were a few other MIA ones! :-/
@Eadgar Don't know whether you've got a PS5 but just so you know that there's a free next-gen upgrade coming for Exodus which I'm holding out for.
I really should be picking up Tony hawk's in this sale, but given the amount of games I've bought since Xmas, I just can't justify it.
I've recently picked up
Control
Wreckfest
Avengers
FIFA 21
Dead rising
Flashback
Doom
Nier Automata
Death stranding
Street of rage 4
The forest
And that's on top of an already massive backlog.
@The-Grezzly-Bear Good choice with Flashback. It's got it's faults, but for it's time it was quite special.
@The-Grezzly-Bear the forest is always up in most downloaded on store is that a glitch or is the game popular may give it another go on ps5
@PossibLeigh yeah, I remember playing it a little when I was a kid, on the Sega mega drive. I never completed it, but it stuck in my mind.
@The-Grezzly-Bear Me too. Find memories. The last levels are right basts, if I remember correctly.
I just can't this time. I got a PS5 having missed the PS4 generation entirely (also kept it in the box until Christmas, which was quite an impressive feat all by itself). Between the various PS4 games I've already bought on the cheap, the PS Plus collection and the 10 or so PS Plus games that have been claimable in the last couple of months, there's zero chance I'm going to play anything if I cave to a sale price right now, and there's every chance it'd just end up on PS Plus by the time I get around to it
The only exception is Jedi Fallen order, but my plans for that title are more to binge it while taking advantage of >£1 for a month of EA Play, rather than to buy it at around £20 in the sale
I got RE3 myself from it as i've yet to play it.
@JustATomato yeah Immortals is very popular with Fortnite gamers
Tempted by Doom Eternal but think Civ 6 at around a tenner plus a bag of chips is just too good to miss, May scratch an itch I haven't had for a while. But again no good for backloggery!
I also didn't make the debate team - too busy focussed on video games (not really. I went to a poor people school. We didn't have one, why debate when a slap would suffice)
@Jslade bro you've been saying this for months. Just buy it lmao. If it's truly something you want. Pay the 19.99
@ObserverGamez lol this is literally the first time I've ever commented about Pyre, but okay.
@Jslade whoa take it easy tiger, we're just talking business.
