Mass Effect Legendary Edition Arrives in May, 4K Trailer Shows the Remaster in Action

Oh boy, doesn’t look bad at all for a remaster. I actually like the original game the most so I wouldn’t be too upset if the gameplay was untouched.

This is definitely not their "Spring" launch window since May is definitely summer. I hope it actually hits that date and doesn't get delayed to fall.

Day 0 purchase for me if there is such a thing....

@nessisonett The first one gets a little too much heat from people imo.

They’ve got to change the forts ones gameplay. It’s sheer so badly and wasn’t even that great in the first place when it comes to combat. Heck, the paragon/renegade wasn’t handled that well either. 3 could also use some adjustments to make you choices mean more. Not like where some are entirety disregarded almost.

Crazy that the remaster is finally happening.

Anyways, ME2 was my favorite out of the trilogy despite it running really bad on the PS3.

I rarely buy day 1 but considering this has all the dlc and enhancements out the gate, im platinuming this.

Can't wait to jump back into the Normandy. Still a bit hesitant with biowares recent track record. So I may wait for reviews or at least more in depth gameplay previews

Reading the feature article on Eurogamer, it looks like they're adding in everything I hope they would; making this a day one purchase for me. These include:

• full 4k resolution
• 60fps (on PS4 Pro and above)
• updated textures and shaders (with added depth of field)
• expanded character creator
• drastically reduced loading times
• ME1 has the most extensive reworking, including major graphics and gameplay mechanics overhaul, to bring it more in line with 2 & 3.
• new UI and HUD design
• you can play all three titles from one single game launcher
• tweaked the XP system to make it more rewarding (hitting the level cap no longer requires new game plus)
• improved enemy AI

It is certainly not the lazy port I was worried about!

Day one buy, followed by 3 months of sweet memories relived. Plus all of the dlc will be new to me. Hell yes.

Im actually pretty excited for this. Even though I've only played the first. I've owned two and three for years, but the rumors of the remasters made me wait and now I'm glad I did.

Never played ME so this is really interesting after all I've heard about it, I'll pre-order this digitally.

How nice of them to release it on my birthday. I've never played ME1 so I'm looking forward to that.

I am so excited for this, also as a side note. I know it won't happen but I would love to have Aria T'Loak and Jack as Party Members in Mass Effect 3. Jack looks so awesome in that game and Aria is amazing. I know it won't happen but it's just a hope.

Time to book a week of hol for this one (and then have it delayed). Cannot wait to play this through again. I've just pre-ordered the Legendary Cache.

@LordSteev there's some utterly fantastic DLC too. Lair of The Shadow Broker for ME2 and The Citadel for ME3 which in my opinion is the best single player DLC ever released for any game. Ever. It's that good, you're in for a treat

Im waiting if all the content is on a disc and how it runs looks really nice though im a little more cautious lately. I never played the games so i have no special feelings towards it. Its a pity i know what the ending is YouTube you know.

It might be available elsewhere shortly but I didn't want to miss out. The delivery to UK is a biggy and will have to add tax/customs later but it's worth it to me.

Getting this immediately, but it sucks there's no multiplayer in ME3. That was probably my favorite part of that game lol.

I find it crazy that bigger games like this are ignoring next, or rather current, gen.

I really love mass effect, but this is just a cash cow. "Updated" old gen graphics. Basically the same but sharper.

I've played through these so many times, not worth it for me.

I’m not convinced this is more than a barebones port at the end of the day. A sizzle reel trailer like this doesnt give me much faith and I didn’t see that great of a visual enhancement over the originals, having played them recently.

I’ll reserve final judgment until I see extended uninterrupted gameplay. It looks higher resolution and I’m sure it’s 60fps, but I’m not seeing the additional enhancements so far.

Still, it will probably be the definitive way to play this trilogy moving forward.

Day one if the port is good, man bioware is really great back then in the xbox / xbox 360 era, I miss that bioware.

I already bought this trilogy twice (original, bundle sale) so not going to buy it again. Plus the ending was absolute garbage. I might be interested in playing through again and seeing how many crew members I can kill off.

Looks excellent, they improved everything I was hoping for so day one. I wish there was a native PS5 version but I'll buy it regardless.

I hope it sells well so next they can do remaster of dragon age origins

Astrological Spring is, more or less (adjusted for solstice), April, May, June; Summer is July, August, September; Fall is October, November, December; Winter is January, February, March.

I wasn't interested in these games when they first came out but i probably will get this!

Apparently all thought all 3 games have all got upgrades, a lot of the changes are in the first game to bring its systems into line with the 2nd & 3rd's more refined ways

@BearsEatBeets ooh it does look great - however I've just read on the Bioware store page that it doesn't ACTUALLY INCLUDE THE GAME !!?? What the hell ? It comes with a special steel book case but no game inside. I've honestly heard it all now - I'm truly baffled 🤷

no gameplay shown... nice. will this be another disaster remaster or did they actually put any effort into it? who knows at this point but i wouldn't expect this to be a bluepoint quality remaster in the slightest.

Yes! It looks great, I am so excited. Was hoping for March but May 14 is right after my birthday so I can live with the association to one of my favorite game franchises of all time.

@KingPev It is a little odd but Rockstar did the same thing with RDR 2 where the Collectors edition of physical goods didn't come with the game (I got that one too). It's more like a set of tie-in items than an edition of the game and as long as they are open and upfront about that I don't mind.

This sounds weird but I really hope they give us the option to keep the standard Shepherds face and just give him/her different hair. Always wanted that

That's awesome man! Maybe 4 months instead of 3. Either way, it's going to feel like a little slice of heaven being able to string all of it together in one huge, cohesive story. Who knows? Maybe by the time the credits roll PS5's will be freely available. Can't think of a better time-sink while I'm waiting!

@Feena great pic of Nei. Phantasy Star II is the first RPG I've ever played and holds a special place in my heart.

ME2 is one of my favorite games of all time. In its day, it was beyond groundbreaking and was absolutely spectacular. It still holds up really well. I've still never played the first one because I'm a Sony gamer and have been holding out for this, which I felt was always inevitable (though I expected it to happen years ago!). However, I'm a little down that they sound like they didn't completely scrap the gameplay from one to bring it in line with the other ones.

One of my favorite trilogies, even 3, which was my least favorite, is still a great game. Not sure I'll get this day one but I'll definitely buy it at some point.

@jmac1686 Well that sounds like an exaggeration. My eyes work fine, and I did say I could see a resolution and framerate enhancement. Would you care to point out to me any additional enhancements I may have missed out on in the video?

Hi there fellow gamers.
And just like that, may became my most anticipated month of this year.
Being able to relive all the great action and story sequences of my favourite trilogy and going down on an amazing memory lane trip.
It is going to be the 7th time I play the entire trilogy.........
Scratch that, make that 8, since I´ll be playing the all thing again as soon as I see the final credits roll 😁
Guess I´ll only have a month to "master" Guilty Gear Strive new gameplay mechanics and 14 days to play and finish Returnal.
Oh well. Good problems to have 😜
