@somnambulance I’m only 4-5 hours in so I am also hoping to see some differences between it and Shadows. Gameplay is terrific, just feels too samey to other stuff at the moment.

@somnambulance I concur. Having played GoT, Rise of the Ronin and AC Shadows, it feels VERY familiar.

The combat feels very good. The opening was quite slow. The character models are not great a lot of the time. The thing when you buy a map is terrible. The story hasn’t really pulled me in so far because it feels like a game we’ve played many times before. Not saying this is bad by any stretch, just not anything special to me so far (4 hours in).

There are obviously similarities between all their games but the article is too simplistic. More concerning to me is the constant sequels. We had a LOT of new IP in the PS4 era and now are just getting sequels.

@LogicStrikesAgain To me the first game had pretty terrible gameplay and terrific story. The second one had better gameplay, and a well written story that I just didn’t care for.

I just don’t think it’s a good 3rd person shooter. Your reply characterizes it better.

I don’t know this game is a 6 but you have the first an 8. This one is better.

@LogicStrikesAgain If I recall correctly, devs have said Sony doesn’t allow them to put their games on sale and they have to be “invited” to do.

Having DS2 early access limited to digital deluxe only also is not a good look. That says to me they are pushing ppl to digital.

Not having third party offers for digital games on PS really does suck. This is a valid point they should be arguing.

@themightyant They stopped producing PS4 in Japan in early 2021 but continued later in the west. Finally ceased distribution in 2025 in Japan. The only way they can sell PS6 for less than $700 is if the Pro sees a price cut and the PS5 went the other way this gen.

@themightyant Unless we see a price drop on the PS5 Pro, they will 100% not sell the PS6 for less than the PS5 Pro is selling at the time. The optics alone of that would horrific.

And yes, I fully expect the PS6 to be $700.

Will it have worse parts? Will Sony take a massive hit on it financially? There isn’t much logic here. The PS5 was $100 more than the PS4 Pro.

@LogicStrikesAgain As far as I know, people don’t have their worth tied up in a streaming service like they do consoles. Many many cases of confirmation bias.

@LogicStrikesAgain I think the issue for me is that PS+ Extra rarely has games that I want to play so the value is bad for me. GP was brutal for a period of time but the value has been ridiculous the last year or so. Really just comes down to what you like to play I think.

At the end of the day it’s going to come down to what makes them the most money. If it is putting them on PC, they will.

Considering there are very few games from it I’m be interested in playing, it wasn’t the banger this article suggests for me. It’s a highly subjective thing, is it not?

“Way to Canadian it up IO, such boring predictable tropes, and Bond looks like a dork”.

“It looks like IO is trying to beat Amazon to the punch on who can make the cringiest adaptation of Bond… I’m getting the Uncharted movie vibes from this, down to the Tom Holland-esque miscast. Yikes“.

Pretty interesting to see the stark opinion difference between this site and Pure Xbox on this game.

@theSpectre There will be one more Xbox but if they end up going publisher they’re going to make an absolute killing.

@SMJ Assassins Creed is the only game where I’ve noticed a substantial difference. In general I’d say I am mildly disappointed in it.

The last several years, Sony has not done a state of play just before a new game launches, right? I fully expect them to ride DS2 until launch and then perhaps do something after. The only caveat is if they wanted to try and take away the spotlight from Nintendo/MS during this show period.

@ChrisDeku Comparing sales of a 20 year old well known franchise that is fully multiplatform to a brand new exclusive IP is crazy work.
