@Ravix I’m glad you enjoyed it so much but it’s pretty hard to deny the cult like following From has. I played other souls games and aside from an open world it’s more or less the same to me. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I’m sad that I didn’t find Elden Ring as amazing as some people. It was fine to me, minus the last boss. I think From has developed such a cult following that it helps with this stuff. I think it also blinds critics and fans to obvious issues with the game, technically and graphically it wasn’t spectacular.

Square is almost a pseudo Sony dev at this point anyway.

Forspoken, FF16, FF7 Part 2 all Sony exclusives for at least a decent amount of time. Those have to be SE biggest games of 2023.

I could be wrong, but it makes a lot of sense that paperwork is being written up/signed for a Sony but when the Activision thing is done. They would shift that money buying exclusivity to gaining profits on the game sales.

@doctommaso I used mimics tear as well but I find any boss that one hits you to be absolutely awful design. Just my opinion. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Completed it, final boss is just terrible design. Game was 8/10 for me, the lack of narrative and literally no direction were not my thing so likely why I don’t view it as a masterpiece like some do.

@Jaz007 The narrative of Elden Ring was my biggest issue with the game. I felt like it was completely non existent, similar to how I felt with Bloodborne.

It absolutely was weak in 2022.

@Titntin I’m not sure why it even exists. It’s clear that it’s not something MS even pays attention to, their focus is GamePass.

@Sam_ATLUS Glad you’re enjoying it. I don’t remember thinking it dropped off in the second half. I thought that it came together story wise in that half.

@RubyCarbuncle Twitter has been absolutely garbage for years, hence why I got off it about 3 years ago. The comments on pretty much every post show you how horrible people are, and that hasn’t changed.

It wouldn’t take much for me to go all digital, all Sony would have to do is have prices equivalent to physical discs….

@Sam_ATLUS I was pleasantly surprised with the game and would put it on the 8-8.5 range. I’m a big fan of RPG and JRPG for what it’s worth.

Any opinions on what a good price for Sonic would be? Not really a Sonic fan but the hype has me intrigued.

@northern_munkey Boring to me as in I just smashed buttons for several hours. The stories didn’t leave any impact on me at all as I hardly recall them.

@rjejr I disagree completely. I found the first games super boring. The last two have been masterpieces.

@Max_the_German The story is not nearly as good as the first game. The main character is overly angsty and borderline annoying in the second game as well.

Combat, exploration and graphics are still top notch.

@Digit2021 I think it will all come down to who plays Kratos. If that doesn’t work, the show is dead.

@Digit2021 If I’m following, your main complaint is that it didn’t follow the book exactly? If so, that’s an understandable reason. I would prefer that in basically all cases but sadly it never happens.

The Perrin being married part was what stuck out the most to me.

I full expect them to give up before they get to the last book. No way they stick with this for a decade.

@Snake_V5 Making one console streamlines production, which will lower manufacturing costs.

They will also mass produce the drive which will be cheap.

People will buy the console without getting the disc drive. Some of these people who previously would have bought physical games will no longer do that.

Sony saves money in the manufacturing process and also will make more money on digital sales compared to physical sales.

@Snake_V5 I think the premise here is that because the console will have no disc drive, is that more people will end up not buying a drive and thus will be buying digital.

I’m 100% sure that people will get the console and not get the drive.

Can someone explain why it would not work? The “works flawlessly” part seems odd. It’s like it was expected to not be good.

The demo pretty much solidified what my impressions were from the videos we’ve seen. Cringy dialogue, gigantic bland open world and flashy combat.

If they would have mapped spells to L1/2+face buttons or R1/2 it would be significantly better. Bringing up the wheel slows things down and feels dated.

I specifically remember reviews complaining about “another gruff white guy”. I actually thought PS was one of them but quick glance at the linked review says otherwise.

@jrt87 Sunk the franchise??? That’s a wild take. An 88 from critics and 8.0 from users seems to refute that. I thought Aloy was annoying in the game but it was still good.

I think Pedro Pascal is real bad, so I’m very skeptical of that. Aesthetic wise it looks good.

I also really hate when people like Lebron, speak endlessly on racism against black people, yet turn a blind eye to the atrocities committed in China against Uighur. Why would he do that you may ask? Because he makes a lot of money off them.

If you’re a person who buys games when they come out, PS+ isn’t going to give you much value.

@Dezzy70 They’ve got three Witcher games in the works and has promised to do this so I’m not too bothered by it. It’s not TLoU remake or that level to me.

Without a doubt, people voted Stray as GoTY as a joke. That game was MAYBE a 6/10. Some peoples kids….

2.5 hours into GoW and it’s easily the best game I’ve played all year. Elden Ring is not even close to me.

I liked Elden Ring the best of the From games but I can’t see how it will be even close to GoWR.
