@NEStalgia I have no need to own games as I RARELY replay something so that's why I find GamePass to be great for me. I can play it and move on for $18 if I got a month of it, I use the rewards and pay $0 so it's even better. I've used the Ubisoft+ $18/month thing to "rent" games as well. I fully grasp what you're saying. In this case the buy/trade for the disc was my most efficient option.

I am keeping my Pro membership at least until the PS5 Pro comes out so I can extra bonus trade on my PS5 to reduce the cost of the Pro.

@NEStalgia For example with Stellar Blade, I got the disc for $68 because of my $5 monthly GameStop thing. I traded it in and got back $40 in store credit due to some promo. So I paid $28 to play it and had $40 towards next game, hard to beat that.

Pretty awful month for me, to be fair though, rarely do they put something on that I want to play. Will be downgrading to Essential when mine is up.

Alan Wake 2 does look excellent. It’s definitely close to HB2 but so far I think HB2 is better but that’s just my eyes.

So far after two hours, the sound and graphics are phenomenal. I don’t think anything else looks this good. The gameplay was meh to me at the start but as I keep going I’m enjoying it more. I would say I like this a little more than the first.

The fanboys are out in the comments I see. If this was a time PS exclusive like the first, the white knighting here would be insane. Console wars rot brains and this is coming from a Sony first gamer.

I do not like the comments about them viewing play time as more important than game sales. This seems like a bad road to go down. It’s worked so well for MS.

@Savage_Joe I really really like Halo the game but the show is just awful. They couldn’t just stick to the game content but needed to add in romance, bureaucracy and other stupid stuff. As my wife mentioned when we tried to watch it, “I expected this to be him just shooting bad guys and heavy action”. Me too, me too….

I definitely was thinking this was just good old hack and slash and not strategic combat. Not sure how I feel about this.

@DaniPooo Sorry for the confusion. I just meant maybe what I set my sharpness at normally is higher. I also obviously play on game mode.

@DaniPooo So weird, I have the exact same TV, sitting almost exact same distance away and don’t notice the “blurry mess”. Maybe I have the sharpness higher?

@REALAIS I’m only 6 hours in but have no complaints as well.

I haven’t played a whole lot yet but the issues DF brings up don’t seem apparent to me. So I will be content to remain ignorant of them and enjoy the game.

Been playing some Halo (unstable packet loss seems to be OK for me now) and Forspoken.

I tried to get into Helldivers 2 but it’s just not for me.

@UltimateOtaku91 Did they confirm 11M of that is from gold? The article says Phil noted a small number are core. I wouldn’t consider 33% small.

I’ve played 4 missions so far and am unimpressed. It didn’t look like a good game to me but I wanted to try it. Should have stuck with my gut. I voted 6 because the shooting does feel good.

Toxic? Like my very first game when things were glitched and couldn’t call reinforcements and the guy told us we F’n suck? I don’t think toxic is limited to PvP.

I cannot say I enjoyed the hard play through of part one. Since that time my desire to spend extra time doing difficult/time consuming trophies is basically dead. I will be content to enjoy my normal playthrough.

Fingers crossed for English voice over. I cannot get into subtitle games.

@DeathlySW No worries at all! I enjoyed Tales of Arise quite a bit and thought this looked like a clone is why I was initially interested. I’ve got FF7 part 2 in a month so I shall impatiently wait.

@DeathlySW thanks for info. I didn’t enjoy the demo much outside of some combat and these details are probably the nail in the coffin.

@themightyant They get to do minimal work for more profit on a game they already sold, that’s for sure milking it for more money. They’re really good at this and yes it’s good business for them. I don’t understand why it’s not OK for people to voice their opinion that they are sick of these. I guess people should just be silent when they’re not in agreement.

@themightyant No one said you had to buy them. It’s just getting old that they put out so many. It’s just not just bad optics, it’s just bad period IMO. It’s obviously just a way for them to milk more money from fans.

@themightyant Or people are just tired of Sony putting out 3,652,383 remasters/remakes. It’s like 1/3 of their first party catalogue this gen, maybe more.

Played through the “story” part of the demo and one of the quests.

Combat feels pretty good but I was not a fan of the camera at all. As others have mentioned, it feels a little childish and I still don’t know if you just get dropped into locations for story stuff or if there is a full map to explore. I couldn’t find a map anywhere during the demo.

Unfortunately this game is likely a pass for me now.

@KundaliniRising333 I played it months ago and had some frame rate drops but I wouldn’t even call it an unpolished mess months ago. It seems to be in a pretty good state now.

@Cloud39472 No worries, it’s a fair question. Historically I have not gotten games on release day when ordering online. I have never once had your experience of getting them early.

Between that and what I said before, I’ve just moved to digital which I greatly prefer now due to game sharing with friends (linking console and can both play at same time) and convenience.

“Insiders” have said that any Marvel IP licenses after 2022 has to be multiplatform. Wolverine likely tbr lays exclusive if true.

@rjejr I also find it odd that some are automatic and others are not. I think, but not 100% sure, that the automatic ones are the ones that don’t give you coins. They force you to start ones that actually give you value.

@fuzzymonkeyfunk It annoys me as well because it’s usually after the game releases that they put it in the games to buy for points. They’re obviously doing it on purpose, I just don’t like the tactic.
