Tarsier Studios has announced Reanimal will include a Friend's Pass with every purchase of the game, meaning that the owner can invite anyone to play with them, even if they don't have a copy themselves.
Just like in It Takes Two and Split Fiction, you can invite a friend to play in co-op with you, and only one copy of the title will be needed. If Reanimal handles the offer the same as Hazelight Studios, then the person without the game will need to download the specific Friend's Pass version of the game for free. Through that, they can begin co-op play with the main owner.

Reanimal launches for PS5 on 13th February 2026, and Tarsier Studios says the Friend's Pass option will be available as soon as possible — it can't guarantee it'll be there at release. Again, if it's handled as the same as in It Takes Two and Split Fiction, then the only drawback to playing the game this way is that the friend won't be able to earn Trophies.
The spiritual successor to Little Nightmares, you control a brother and sister trying to rescue their friends on an island. You can play Reanimal in single player, or in local or online co-op.

Good to have this but I feel like this is meant to be played alone in the dark.
I really enjoyed the demo to the point that I quit playing it to save it for release. I love the friends pass idea, but for my co-op buddy and I that means I would have to own it (I cannot go without those digital trinkets!). We found out the hard way with Split Fiction when he kept shouting trophy and I had nothing on my end.
