To reflect the spirit of the season, Dovetail is doing railway fans a solid and giving away a free route in Train Sim World 6.
It’s picked one of the more unique ones, too: while there’s a lot to love about the dev’s latest simulation, we admit we don’t always have anything particularly interesting to say.
But when it comes to the Spirit of Steam, which runs from Liverpool to Crewe, we actually did write up a piece on this one, because it was the first steam engine DLC added to the series. (At the time, Train Sim World 2, to be precise.)
This pack takes place in the 1950s and, as you’d expect with a steam powered locomotive, the gameplay is pretty different. It takes some getting used to, but it’s a good challenge, and of course you can use the rolling stock on different routes if you really want to.
In fact, if you already claimed the Free Starter Pack available when Train Sim World 6 first launched, then you’ll be able to add this route to your collection for free as well. That’s a lot of content for no cost.
