Horror specialist Bloober Team has announced Layers of Fear 3, a new entry in its original series that began in 2016.
In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the studio revealed the game via a couple of videos. There's this moody promo which unveils the title at the end:
And a longer video, in which Bloober Team discusses Layers of Fear overall before dropping the above announcement.
There's little other information available right now; we don't know when to expect this new game, and Bloober hasn't even revealed platforms yet. Given the previous two games launched on PlayStation, we expect the third game will follow suit.
Bloober Team has come a long way since the original Layers of Fear, having made a name for itself with the Silent Hill 2 remake, which was very warmly received. It also launched Cronos: The New Dawn last year, which did reasonably well by critics but seemed to fly under the radar for most.
We know it's also working on a remake of the first Silent Hill, which makes sense given how well the previous remake did.
It's all systems go, then. What are your expectations for Layers of Fear 3? Are you excited about the game? Tell us in the comments section below.

I liked The Medium that they made as well
Let Bloober cook!!!
Cronos: The New Dawn was the best game I played last year (and I played a lot of games!). It was simply fantastic. I cannot recommend it highly enough...
Cronos was fantastic; the atmosphere, the combat, the art direction. Winner! Less excited for this, though… I still need to play the original games, but the walking sim horror stuff just doesn’t interest me as much…
Completely skipped my mind there was even a Layers of Fear 2! I'm currently playing through the re-release of the first one.
They will never make me hate you, Bloober Team. Let them cook!
I don’t really have any interest in this unless it’s radically different from the first two games.
It's a little funny that the Silent Hill remakes are brought up but not the Layers of Fear remake they did. I hate that I care about this but it's gonna bother me going from the remake to Layers of Fear 3.
