E3 2019: Final Fantasy VII Remake Trailer Shows Tifa for the First Time, Sephiroth Speaks

They did a great job with Tifa. Everything about this looks great. I take back my pessimism. This will be my new favorite FF game.

@Ralizah I think we were all right to be pessimistic, especially given Square's track record this gen. But this really does look outstanding. I can barely believe how well it's supposedly turned out.

@ShogunRok If FF7R's end product ends up being as thrilling and polished as this E3 presentation was, then I'm fully willing to forgive them their mishandling of the franchise since XIII. This looks... just incredible. This is the Square-Enix I've been missing. Although I do have to wonder if we'll end up getting all of the games on PS4, given the sheer scope of this project.

It seems like most Japanese devs really don't give a damn what the easily offended types in the West think. Which is why they're getting so much hate and are being targeted specifically by Sony California lately. Good on SE, all the character designs and the set pieces will look great. The problem is, how will it play? I'm guessing very meh but will wait until I get a chance to play the game myself before passing judgement.

Look, I’ve never been a fan of any FF game, ever, and I ain’t afraid to admit that. But I really like this trailer. I don’t know, I might just have to check this out when it’s released, it hooked me in.

The trailer was good but this whole "game" for parts is too embarrassing. On March, April we will complete it and then what? We will have to wait for 2025 that it may has been concluded? It's pathetic. And what about the price? It will be 60euros now and other 60 and other 60 ... ?

When they announced they were remaking my favourite game ever, I was both absolutely delighted and terrified. I've felt nothing but pessimism about it ever since – until this trailer. For the first time now, I'm genuinely excited. It looks phenomenal!

@Bliquid Final Fantasy 7 is my best RPG of all time ! After this, is Xenoblade Chronicles 1 on Wii and then maybe Chrono Trigger. The MAIN reason that I bought PS4 was this game when it was announced many years ago so I would love to play it then. Now, the hype is gone and I don't like this kind of treatment to be in many parts / episodes. Sure, it is looking incredibly good with great visuals / graphics etc but it will be a like a half game.

I only know the general story of the game because well, everyone seems to love it, and I saw it played on some GDQ I think, but yeah I'm excited to finally getting to experience this gem in the best way possible!
I do feel pretty sad I don't get any nostalgia feeling for seeing characters like you guys do...but hey I know Cloud and Sephiroth ahah

Yeah, that does look pretty good, I have to admit. I’m sure I’ll be there day one.
I don’t care for Sephiroth’s voice though. I’d like something more menacing sounding.
