Re: Sifu Trophy Data Shows Second Level Is Destroying Most Players

@Nightcrawler71
If the game is actually fun to learn and very rewarding, I'm all for it.
Just like Furi for instance. Incredible game and getting better fits it perfectly, especially here. Protagonist gets stronger and stronger, player gets better and better.

Some games just do it for the difficulty gimmick tho (The Surge and other Soulslikes for instance) This one isn't

@Col_McCafferty
Casuals actually have a PS console to play mainstream/ blockbuster games on (nothing wrong with that, but I've seen lots of those types of gamers who play stuff like GOW/ Horizon).

And then you have lots PC nerds with a humongous rig that only play Counter strike, because fRaMerAte and feeling superior

Re: Rumour: New, Smaller Assassin's Creed Game Will Focus on Stealth in Late 2022 or 2023

@naruball
Sure I can pick up, turn my brain off and enjoy games as well.
But with the potential that AC has, I don't think it's too much to ask for better combat, better world interaction/ immersion, better game design, etc.
It would benefit literally everyone and they'll sell more as their games would become a must buy.

Their games are always not-there-yet and going the extra mile could make them amazing. They've got 3 different teams working on 3 different AC games (I think) so why not? The wait wouldn't be that painful. Instead I'm just not even bothering anymore, which is a shame

@naruball @Flaming_Kaiser

I love me some long games, but not games that are padded with filler. There are literally microtransactions in the game to speed up the leveling process... If that doesn't tell you something I don't know what will.

These games are designed to be time sinks. The problem is that the gameplay just doesn't support it.

If the world was actually immersive with interactive NPC's, alive villages, various things to do, good horse gameplay that doesn't feel onrails, an actually interesting story and combat that feels brutal where you can feel the impact like in the Batman games instead of slashing and dashing away as if it's a MOBA.
I could play the rhythmic Batman combat for days (and did so for the platinums), but I'm done with AC after the first clunky fight

@ShogunRok
The formula isn't the problem. The garbage games are.

They could have an amazing openworld game where they actually implement stealth properly. Instead having huge worlds filled with a bunch of nothing, they could make it a smaller openworld with lots of areas where you can play like an actual freaking... assassin... Wow.

Ubisoft is so garbage that they can't even take the criticism properly. Either way, this news sounds at least better than the textbook anime filler episodes they've been releasing aka every AC after AC2

Re: Get a Horizon Forbidden West Outfit in Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut

BoldAndBrash

@themcnoisy @AdamNovice
Because BOTW is creative and the world is literally your playground in an amazingly fun way.

I'm a huge Sont nut and samurai fan, but left disappointed with Tsushima. It's arcady as hell, feels like a Ubisoft checklist game where you do the same thing everywhere. The script was mediocre, the immersion wasn't there (arcady games never feel immersive to me, RDR2 on the other hand, WOW), pretty lame interactions with people, animals and collectibles (always the same thing), feels scripted, stiff and on rails. You never feel like you have the freedom to do whatever you want.
The openworld just serves as a filler between A and B. There's nothing interesting to do in-between.
The wind mechanic gets annoying as well and breaks the immersion. Everything felt like a gimmick in this game. That's just my opinion though.

Horizon, however, is pretty stellar, besides its awkward storytelling and some scripted dino's (like the towers ones and the flying ones that always fly the same area like a Bathesda game).

BOTW is amazing. The fact that Eurogamer are morons, doesn't mean that BOTW is bad or worse than the above. It's for damn sure better than the scripted Tsushima game for me

@art_of_the_kill
With the way right to repair is going, it seems like we're going straight to an era where literally nothing is your possession anymore.
It needs a chip, its own software updates, its own licensed repairs, it has its own expiration date and you the consumer are shhht out of luck

Re: Fighting Game Jump Force Being Delisted from PS Store Today

BoldAndBrash

These Bandai Namco anime games are so annoying. Just make a quality game already instead of this half@ssed crap they always put out.
Who doesn't wanna buy an anime mixup fighting game? I sure as hell would, but I also sure as hell won't buy a crappy game and I'm not the only one apparently as they're pulling the plug, as expected.
They always do this and expect a different result. Something something insanity.

Seven Deadly Sins game looks quality. Bandai should take note

Re: Sony Is Spending Over $1 Billion to Ensure Bungie Employees Don't Leave

BoldAndBrash

@shafedog247
Short term money...
And no I did not know businesses are out to make money. Completely flew past me.
Also, how do you think Sony got to this point? By only having multiplatform games? Do you think PS3 eventually won even after the rough start because of its multiplats?
It's all exclusives, track record, lineup, history, etc.

"Why do I need a PS5 if it'll come to PC eventually anyway? I'll wait and play it on ***** laptop that can't even handle it"
That's ruining a reputation if you ask me. Have you seen the GOW mods?
That's the reason why care companies don't want their cars to be in some games where they're damageable. It's a bad look

Re: Sony: Everyone's Excited for PlayStation Studios and Bungie to Share Ideas

BoldAndBrash

@get2sammyb
Isn't this a bit of damage controlling?
I'm the biggest Sony Pony there is, but still... This is ridiculous.

I had many season passes going for Apex and Rocket League. I was only playing online at that time, it felt like a job trying to keep up with these pass challenges. I ditched them all eventually and stopped playing online. If the new Fortnite update with the swinging came out then, I'd have a Fortnite pass as well.

I ALSO absolutely LOVE Factions. When that comes in I'll be on its season pass as well for sure.
Too much to keep up with. I know these aren't a must, but still.

These games are developed to keep you hooked. The more you play, the more they earn. Even singleplayer games like Assassin's Creed have become this disgusting slog of time wasting filler.

PS5 is the first gen I'm not excited about. Nothing feels special anymore. Nothing impresses (except for literally ONLY God of War, RDR2, TLOU2 and maybe Horizon).
It's all about getting it out quick and moving on to the next cash cow.

With the amount of sandbox games out there, there are VERY few with Amazon interactive worlds you can mess around with. That should tell you something.

There's no Skate 2 or 3, GTA IV/ V, Spider-Man 2 PS2 (amazing wallrunning and physics with insanely fun learning curve).

Just put out this shallow game, put some nice graphics and fRamErAte on it and it'll sell like hotcakes. That's all you need to do nowadays.

Re: Ghostwire: Tokyo Puts the Capital on Edge in PS5 Gameplay Showcase

BoldAndBrash

Oh, yeah....
This is gonna be a BUY.

Edit: on second thought...
The spells need a bit more punch when shooting. The bodies disappearing as if it's a PS2 game feels incredibly cheap (wasn't this a memory problem? Why is this still a thing?), the grappling hook feels lame.
Grappling hooks are weird. Amazing mechanic to have in games, but devs rarely use it as a mechanic. Lots of games have it, but none actually incorporate it through gameplay or physics. It's just insta travel.
Still a buy tho

You can see his live service vision all over this site.
Closing Japan Studio. PS games going to PC. Killzone gone, Days Gone sequel gone. The reason Evolution Studios was gone, was because they were forced to make a completely different game than what they had been making and forced to make it work with all this online social garbage it had.
Driveclub was absolutely STELLAR. I still go back to it when I'm not satisfied with new racers coming out.

PS was always about its lineup and building trust with its fans, because of its track record. First time I'm not hyped about a new console. Their first party games have yet to prove PS5's true power. Horizon won't be it either. It's crossgen, sorry

Re: Dying Light 2 (PS5) - Good Sequel Hurt by Expectation

BoldAndBrash

@BritneyfR_ee
They're selling games while hiring the worst and cheapest writers, so why wouldn't they? The worst part is that people defend these lackluster games.
The difference with this and AC though, is that it actually does make up in gameplay and world building. Enjoyed the first one. Will get this on sale

Re: Dying Light 2 (PS5) - Good Sequel Hurt by Expectation

BoldAndBrash

Am I the only one who thinks this decision-making gimmick is overrated beyond belief?
Story sucked in part 1, but that's not what made it fun to play. Honestly I have skipped every cutscene in Just Cause 3, 4. They are garbage.

I get these games for the world and gameplay, which they do well.
Is it disappointing? Sure as hell, but if the story sucks already, who cares about decisions lol?

Gives me an excuse to waste less time and skip cutscenes without feeling like I missed something.

Re: The Witcher Is Getting a New Single-Player Gwent Game in 2022

BoldAndBrash

Man I never play the side stuff like these in big RPG's, but loved Gwent and always play a round when I'm playing through the game.

@weR1youR2Podcast

The 2 expansions have become my favourite part actually. Especially Blood and Wine. Absolutely love the setting and the story and that bizarre optional part that is actually missable (so make sure you experience it).

Re: Hyper Scape, Ubisoft's Battle Royale Flop, Is Being Switched Off

BoldAndBrash

@ATaco
As annoying as it is, they could turn it around.

These publishers are greedy and incompetent beyond belief, but with higher ups that care about quality (aka returning costumers and long-term gains) these studios could actually produce quality.

Instead Ubisoft just rehashes the same garbage and poops it out while it's not even finished
