Re: Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection's PS5 Trophies Are a Complete Bust

BoldAndBrash

@NEStalgia
Like so many comments here already, you're talking about the extreme examples of people. People go all the way in literary every aspect of gaming. Speedrunning, online, etc.
I do like that trophies exist and go for platinums for games I really like. Adds more reason to play a game that you would've otherwise put down.

What I don't get just as much as the extreme trophy hunters are people who always how to btch and whine about trophies when the topic comes up

Re: Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection's PS5 Trophies Are a Complete Bust

@naruball
You... Are a doozy aren't you...?

You've completely dodged the topic once again. You respond to a discussion and completely ignore what's being said. What the OP said was the topic I replied to. You've now made 2 completely irrelevant comments that have nothing to do with what's being said and then you nope out while ignoring the facts and acting like you're the innocent child that's being done wrong. Boohoo

Re: Xbox Boss 'Trusts' PlayStation Not to Damage Gaming Industry, Cautions Against Tech Giants

BoldAndBrash

This is beyond depressing and a typical soulless monopoly acquisition, but if it doesn't escalate further there may be hope for the industry.

MS never had that many exclusives. Sony has been delivering for 5 generations in a row. Consistently. Quantity and quality.
Even with Acivision, which was always a degenerate greedy company in the first place, they're still not gonna overpower Sony in terms of exclusives.

Doesn't diminish how big this is tho

Re: Round Up: Rainbow Six Extraction Early Reviews Offer Lukewarm Praise to Co-Op Spin-Off

@Northern_munkey
Yeah I'm not a fan either.
I'd be down for Sony panic buying Ubisoft and the proceeding to finally do justice to all these Ubisoft games that never ever meet their potential.
Sony needs a shooter now that COD is gone. They need Respawn Entertainment or something.
Rainbow Six is popular as well, but it plays like a Ubi game. Sony could potentially fix that.
Curious what will happen though

Re: Poll: Would You Still Buy PlayStation Consoles Without Activision Blizzard Games?

BoldAndBrash

Both Activision and Bathesda have run themselves into the ground with uninventive unfinished copy/ paste games and greedy practises.
Sony's exclusive lineup has been worthwhile for a 5th generation in a row and enough to sell a console on.

Call of Duty isn't gonna do anything for me anymore. The superior Apex is free and the original Infinity Ward is at EA.
Even Spider-Man is free (as in out of their claws), as much as I want that franchise to be improved, Activision was absolutely running that IP to the ground for a decade. Fallout and ES games had always been outdated and never interested me.

I was rooting for MS for having Flight Sim and Forza Horizon which I really wanted. Couple more games and I'd even buy an xbox I said. Not this way. Not gonna support any monopoly

Think I'll be fine with multiplat and Sony games

Re: Sony's Own First-Party Studios Championed PC Ports

BoldAndBrash

@lolwhatno
Lmao no why. We had a friendly conversation the other and having a discussion here. Why would I talk down on you?

RDR2 did indeed have amazing graphics, but that's Rockstar magic. What makes their games good for me is the gameplay, world interaction, good quests, great physics, sounds, voice acting, script, etc. Immersion is the better word maybe.
Lots of openworld games nowadays have amazing settings, but I don't want to spend a second in there. It's time consuming for the sake of it, clunky gameplay, empty, bad AI interaction, bad combat, etc.

All I'm saying is that those would me 10 times better if they'd be more polished, but no, the trend is that they're released frequently in those kinda states

Re: Sony's Own First-Party Studios Championed PC Ports

BoldAndBrash

@lolwhatno
Maybe I worded it incorrectly, but AAA games used to do what I mentioned. Arkham games, GTA IV (maybe V), RDR1/2, Shadow of the Colossus are good examples, but that's pretty much where it stops unfortunately. You had smaller games like Skate 2 and 3, but those were incredibly flushed out as well. Great world interaction, great gameplay, physics, etc. Amazing feeling to them.

@stinkyx Ex-freaking-actly.

Re: Harry Potter Game Hogwarts Legacy Allegedly in Trouble on PS5, PS4

BoldAndBrash

A game takes its time as it should and suddenly all hell breaks loose. Good it's delayed.
I had a feeling this wasn't gonna be a surface level game like most games nowadays and I'll keep that faith for this one.
People forget WB released Arkham Knight. I find that game more of an achievement than Horizon and infinitely more of achievement than Spider-Man. There, I said it lol.
Impressive and flushed out games is what WB does, even if I didn't like the Mordor games

Re: Sony's Own First-Party Studios Championed PC Ports

BoldAndBrash

At least that's the case...
I'm not all on board with what Sony's been doing since the PS4 gen and sometimes it feels like they're doing what's best short term, but what do I know.
All I want is cutting edge games that don't put frames and graphics as the top priority, but gameplay and world interaction. All I'm seeing is a decline in that in general

Re: PUBG: Battlegrounds Is Now Available for Free on PS4

BoldAndBrash

@lolwhatno
Lol, it is faster paced for sure and more emphasis on manoeuvring through the world, but if you've got an open mind, you'll enjoy it. I've got friends who were COD fans and they couldn't get passed the BR with different playable personality characters, but that's its charm imo.
Hope you'll have fun! I need to hop back in again, only played single player games for like a year now...

Re: PUBG: Battlegrounds Is Now Available for Free on PS4

BoldAndBrash

@Haruki_NLI
It was already overdue when it finally released on PS4. Wonder if it's even worth it now.
More than enough BR games that actually have good and smooth gameplay and game design like Apex and even Fortnite looks more and more fun to the point that I'll have to commit a blasphemy and install it again

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Dev Team Adds Miles Morales Novel Writer

BoldAndBrash

@danlk1ng
Common sense. Thank you

@Jacko11
I'll just state that the most fun games always have a learning curve. They're easy and fun to pick up, but a challenge to master. This will lead you to actually become good at the game.

Pull of crazier manoeuvres that you wouldn't have been able to do when playing for the first time. In SM there's literally no difference between endgame and the start of it. No momentum building, no risk, no reward, no physics. Swinging, wallrunning are autopilot and pulling of crazy stunts like you could on hardware 3 generations ago, forget it. Takes zero skill. That is a fact.

All I ask is for them to make it more exciting. Falling 10 blocks in Minecraft is more exciting for crying out loud. How's that possible

Re: Dying Light 2 Takes 500 Hours to 'Fully Complete', Official Twitter Has to Clarify

BoldAndBrash

@Flaming_Kaiser
I'd be fine with the length if these games were actually playable nowadays.
They lack in so many aspects compared to even PS2 games. Less interaction with the world, less quality exploring/ easter eggs, variety of stuff to do, less/ almost no physics, clunky gameplay that takes has no learning curve and play like literally anything else.

Although, 500 hours would be way too much for even good games with well built worlds and gameplay like RDR2, GTA and I wish I had other games to mention, but that's the painful reality of gaming today.

Too many typical Ubisoft filler games that are mindless fluff of quantity with zero quality. Spending that many hours in these games is torture and will leave me feeling like I'm wasting my time. Literally ruins the hobby for me

Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Dev Team Adds Miles Morales Novel Writer

BoldAndBrash

That's nice and all, but if the swinging isn't improved and still physicsless while a game like FREAKING Fortnite can make swinging mechanics work with at least some physics and momentum then I'm just not gonna put down 60 bucks for it.

Sorry to say, but it was just toothless. The main mechanic of the game, toothless. Boring after a few hours. Can literally hold your phone in one hand, controller in the other and swing through deadly heights through NYC without any risk. Absolutely mental. Yes, this remains the hill I'll die on. It can be better and it needs to be better

Re: Game of the Year: Stuart's Top 5 PS5, PS4 Games of 2021

BoldAndBrash

The thumbnail with the mountains looked like a KKK gathering for a sec there lol...

Interesting top 5 though! Gotta check them out. Didn't even know Binding of Isaac got DLC content.
Edit: Wait, so I've got Binding of Isaac through Plus years ago, but now I need the 2 DLC's that came after before I can buy the new DLC?
That seems weird and a bit too expensive right now. Should I wait on some collection deal?

Re: Hot Wheels Unleashed Passes 1 Million Units Sold

BoldAndBrash

@Alfieburns
There's a bit of a learning curve and compared to literally almost every game that spoonfeeds you their gameplay these days, this one can hold your attention.
I do a couple of races a day and it's honestly pretty fun. Games like these I don't play in long sessions anyway, but it exceeded my expectations

Re: GRID Legends May Be Your Best Bet for Arcade Racing on PS5, PS4 Next Year

BoldAndBrash

All these racers just come and go and just keeps getting painfully obvious (as if it wasn't) how much of an utterly stupid move it was for Sony to let go Evolution.
These games just don't even come close to Motorstorm or Driveclub. There's always something that just feels off

@PlayNation5
That would've been the smart thing to do. Sony had an immensely talented studio for just that, but they let them go of course.

Re: Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok Costs $40, Not Included in the Season Pass

BoldAndBrash

@ShogunRok
But that's exactly what they want though. They make these games deliberately fluff and drawn out, with bad game design and incredibly empty worlds.
Their actual point is for people to spend as much time as possible in their games. Their entire game design is built around that. Is this really what we want though? Is this something that should even be praised nowadays? So many other, better choices. Why would wasting your time on clunky Ubi games be worthwhile or even praiseworthy.
