Re: Resident Evil Requiem Story DLC Confirmed, Bonus Mode in May

BearsEatBeets

Strange to do this now when the 30th anniversary is only a couple of weeks a way.
Maybe they will give full details on the mode then. The story expansion being further along and them showing it would be great also but if it's not so be it.

Despite having it platinumed I've left it installed ready for anything new.

Re: Resident Evil Requiem Surpasses an Astonishing 5 Million Sales in Its First Week

BearsEatBeets

A lot of talk of length of the game, it really depends on your playstyle. On my first playthrough I like to explore everything I can and generally try to pick up every item. I found myself studying the map when playing as Grace planning out carefully what routes to take to get to things.
As Leon when he gets to Raccoon City, I really took my time walking around taking in the atmosphere, again making sure I covered every inch.
By the end my 'playtime' was 17 and a half hours.

My second run doing no healing and not thinking about files/collectibles was just over 8.

I still plan a couple more runs to attempt the platinum so I will easily get about 40ish hours of entertainment out of it before I put it down.

Great addition to the series. Not quite my favourite but up with the best.

Re: Shuttered Dev Bluepoint Wanted to Remake Bloodborne, FromSoftware Blocked It

BearsEatBeets

Fair enough it sounds like Bluepoint possibly lacked the creative leads to pull off an original game like they seemed to want to do, but when that fails and they start pitching remakes again I still don't understand why they couldn't have been handed the newly announced GoW remakes which they have greenlit. It either frees up Santa Monica to concentrate on other stuff or helps them get them done quicker.

Re: Here's Your First Look at the God of War TV Show

The problem with such realistic yet fantastical graphics in the game is that trying to replicate it in real life always looks a bit...off. Still, it depends how it all holds together in motion.

It's a shame the 'Avatar' method is so costly. That kind of approach would work better for this kind of thing.

@Oram77 @trev666 I just had a quick go of it and did the save transfer it offered. Playing my last save just before the epilogue popped one trophy for walking 50km 😄
By quickly doing the epilogue I got the trophies for completing the game as well as all quests.

So no actual auto-pop but if you have saves at certain points you could probably get many quicker.

I'm going to replay anyway but might test if any of my saves help get some of the more awkward trophies out of the way first.

Re: God of War Trilogy Remake Announced for PS5

I posted this on the poll page

I wouldn't be surprised if the GoW Trilogy Remake is being handled by Bluepoint working with Santa Monica. They already helped with Ragnarok and were working with the IP for years after on the live service game that got cancelled last year.

Plus they are dab hands at remakes.

EDIT: Also it would make for perfect project to come up with at short notice after cancelling the other game.

Re: Highguard (PS5) - Jack of All Trades PS5 Shooter Is Fine

BearsEatBeets

@honda Not in any way dismissing your opinion of the game but I'm just fascinated by the effort you have gone to for a game you found so uninspired and boring. You carried on playing for over 20 hours? Surely you have played enough rounds in a hour or two to know if you liked it or not?
Then went to the effort of creating an account on a site just for this game.

Fair play for giving it a chance, I just can't imagine devoting that much time and effort for something I disliked.

Re: Crimson Desert Deep Dive Tries to Prove Its Crazy Potential Is Reality

BearsEatBeets

I love a good open world to explore and this one does look visually impressive and vast.
I'm not sure the combat looks to my taste, a bit over the top with all the powers and effects going off. Plus I'm not big on lots of long boss fights.

I feel like it's trying to do too many different systems and styles though.

Also, the videos are still lots of edited together clips. I'd like to see a full 15 minutes of unedited footage of doing a side-quest or something.

It would be handy if they do demo.

Re: PS Plus Essential Game for February 2026 Leaked

BearsEatBeets

I let my sub expire at the end of November planning on resubbing with a Black Friday sale. Of course they never offered a sale on the essential tier so I left it for now.
None of the monthly games since have made me ponder for a second about rejoining.
