Re: The Witcher Dev Still Wants to Release Ciri's Whole Trilogy Within Six Years

BearsEatBeets

@ShogunRok I'm imagining that this trilogy will definitely feel like three chapters to one big story and will all play very similar. Plus that the 'pre-production' for parts 2 & 3 are kind of baked into the 6 or 7 years it will take for the first game to complete.
Plus the studio is bigger than it was.

While I'm arguing the case for how it could be believable to do, I wouldn't be remotely shocked if they don't achieve it of course.

Re: The Witcher Dev Still Wants to Release Ciri's Whole Trilogy Within Six Years

BearsEatBeets

I don't think it's too absurd to imagine. The six years doesn't start until the first one releases and I imagine the next two will be highly iterative and may be already roughly written/planned out. So that's 3 years per game.
'Hearts of Stone' and 'Blood and Wine' were both out within a year of The Witcher 3. Whilst not full games they were fairly meaty experiences, especially the second.
Not saying they won't end up taking longer but don't think it is an outlandish goal.

Re: Poll: Five Years of PS5 - How Would You Rate Sony's Console?

BearsEatBeets

@LogicStrikesAgain You've summed up pretty much how I would regard it.
A big part is the gen not remotely being over yet and we tend to forget how many of the great PS4 games came near the end of that generation. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of this generations best games are coming in the next couple of years.

Re: Don't Expect Intergalactic PS5 to Launch Until at Least 2027

BearsEatBeets

Maybe Grub, Moriarty etc should all place a large bet on it if they are so sure on their 'superior' insider information. Can't we just enjoy a reveal when a studio is ready to do so without all this need to show you know stuff?

Anyway. I look forward to seeing some gameplay whenever it is ready to be shown, Naughty Dog have never disappointed for me.

Re: GTA 6 Delayed Again, Pushed Back to November 2026

BearsEatBeets

That puts it exactly on schedule with RDR2. Announced, delayed to following spring and then delayed again to make it a year after initial plan.
I'm not convinced like many that it will get delayed another whole year after that, but time will tell.

If insomniac weren't planning to have Wolverine done by October they are probably going to be pushing for that now.

Re: If You've Never Played Fortnite, This Is the Season to Try on PS5, PS4

BearsEatBeets

I've tried it in the past. My brother has a ridiculous amount of hours in it and we did a few hours of duos. I can see why some people enjoy it but doing the same thing over and over for hours on end just gets very tedious very quickly for me.
The novelty of this could possibly make me give it another quick go but that's all it would probably be.

Re: Poll: Did You Buy a PS1 at Launch?

BearsEatBeets

I have no distinct memory of when I purchased the PS1 (or PS2). So I either got them later on and formed no lasting memory of the purchase or my brother got them, hence why I just remember having and playing one.
I clearly remember buying 3, 4(+Pro) and 5 on launch.

I'm pretty sure it's not me getting old and my memory being shot as I still remember my Dad taking me to Toy R' Us to buy my Sega Master System which was long before.

Re: 007 First Light Brings James Bond to PS5 on 27th March

I've never been much of a Hitman fan but I think this looks different enough to possibly be good.
I do think that they need to do a bit of work with the fluidity of switching between their melee animations. It's clearly more advanced than what they have done before but the speed changes just seem a bit odd at the moment. Enough time to tweak and improve though.

Re: Hell Is Us (PS5) - One of the Best Mystery Experiences on PS5

BearsEatBeets

I tried the demo for a couple of hours and stopped when I moved in the vehicle to a second area but never felt compelled to go back and play more/finish the demo.
I can't say I enjoyed the combat. I possibly didn't give it enough time to gel but I found the R1 timing thing to recover some health gimmicky.
I like the idea of following directions/clues instead of map markers but found it quite superficial in the demo. The first two examples were following wind chimes on trees and another with signs on trees. When the areas were fairly linear anyway. This may very well be just easing you into it early though to give you the idea of it.
Overall I thought it was fine but didn't leave me wanting to play more. Possibly playing a bit longer it might have hooked me more but maybe it's just not for me. I appreciate them doing the demo though, it generally shows confidence in your game to do one.

Re: Resident Evil Requiem PS5 Turns Up the Intensity in New Trailer

BearsEatBeets

@pharos_haven Exactly. I'm certainly hooked. It would be great if it has a compelling story, as much as I love most of the series the stories have always been kind of a cheesy mess.

@Scottyy yes it would be good if they redid all those old ones to have all the games in this modern style. Maybe if they keep doing well they will continue to work through them.

Re: Sony Veterans Notice Their Purchased PS3 Avatars Have Gone Missing

BearsEatBeets

This happened to me about a decade ago (or more). When I got my PS4 I gave my PS3 to my brother. A little while later I switched to a Witcher avatar I got for free on PS4 but decided shortly after I wanted to switch to my more unique PS3 one. I wasn't able to find it on my PS4 and had to get my brother to log in as me back on the PS3 to find the purchase and switch it back. I've kept it ever since.
So I think this might have always been the case if the avatar was purchased on a PS3.

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on Ghost of Yotei?

BearsEatBeets

Looks like some well thought out improvements over the original. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm fascinated that anytime there are multiple questions on a post, fewer people answer each extra question. Do people get disinterested that quickly?
