It did do enough different for a new IP, but it was swollen with the same bloat that other games suffered from. The tracking Boozer missions were horrendous,Ghosts of Tsushima had these awful follow footprints borefests too. The hives, hordes and bike riding made carried the game, and were generally quite refreshing in the stale "open world" scene. I couldn't give a s*** about the story, but there was a real thrill of walking into a mine and a horde appearing.
I planned on getting the platinum trophy for Far Cry 6, but it was such a hollow experience that I finished the campaign and uninstalled the game. As much fun as the DLC may be, I just can't be arsed. I always praised the series for being unadulterated fun, but F6 is a huge step back.
@Col_McCafferty It's a valid criticsm, after over a decade of large open world games, the variety in things to do that are unique has reached a roadblock. I've seen people being told they shouldn't play so many games so it doesn't ruin a genre through repetitiveness, which is just silly, it's on the developers to do something different and mix it up, Sucker Punch in my opinion didn't. Plenty of games mix things up in their retrospective genres.
6, in a over saturated open world market, other than the setting it was incredibly formulaic once you strip it down. It was very pretty but also felt very empty.
Making the bare bones Mercenaries in Village more like the raid mode in Revelations 1 & 2 would have been better, I know this is PvP but I don't think it will hold a huge player base.
Stealth and Parkour is dev language for you've already played this game but this is with a Gollum skin. It will not sell well unfortunately, this isn't the 2000s, can't just ride on the name alone unless you are going to bring a whole new game style to the table which this won't.
I almost bought the Olympics game and I'm very relieved I didn't, just played a few events on PS Now, and it's really subpar, mechanically no further forward from sports games in the Dreamcast and GameCube era.
That's all well and good but can it sustain interest? Ghosts of Tsushima and Horizon looked fantastic but after playing them after playing every other big open world game, they still suffered from laborious fetch quests and kill x amounts of this, and were a chore for me to complete.
Loved the first game, felt very unique in a sea of very over saturated genres and settings. My only concern is how are they going to build on the formulae without treading too much old ground?
@ScottyG Yeah anyone go watch Maxiq on YouTube play BF5, top ranked player who is full of complete BS and should be the face of Cronus Zen.Most players do play legit so I can still enjoy the BF games but to die to obvious cheaters does make me question why I play just to get my blood pressure up.
I think 3 is too harsh, especially seeing Knockout City getting a 9 which is insane. The problem is comparing it to Doom, I honestly don't feel it tries to emulate it too much, the ammo and pickups fly out of the enemies I guess. But I can't say I disagree for being harsh for the technical problems, the frame rate drop is frustrating, and the guns should have more bite especially for a run and gun game of this style. Not a bad effort for a small dev team, but could definitely need some more time to work out the performance issues.
I never owned it, but played it quite a bit on my friends PS2, great co-op experience. They could maybe justify a higher price if it were a remaster or included online, but they are going to need to wait for sales to see the money coming in.
I just hope they fix the net code, BF5 was atrocious for it's damage calculator, empty a magazine into someone's back and they turn around and one shot you. It was dodgy in the other games, but absolutely ridiculous in 5.
Whilst I did enjoy Days Gone, the mission structure got tired fast, especially the painfully dull 'track this person' scenarios. My worry for the sequel was it was going to follow that path, but we'll never know.
I found this game way too repetitive in comparison to other multiplayer games, also if your team mates weren't as experienced as the other team and/or they were playing as friends it was all just completely one sided.
It's good that it's simple and controls fine, but it get tedious fast, and if your team isn't as coordinated as the other then it's a complete landslide. Bump, fall, pick up ball, pick up ball, bump, fall etc
I got an invite, and just played a few rounds, will not be continuing. Very bare bones, much like Rocket Arena every match plays out the same, and has no substance.
They are difficult but not quite as hard as some of the Sekiro and Souls hardest bosses, there are different difficulties though, they are more 'arcadey' in style, yes 3 isn't as good, but 1 and 2 are classics of the era. If anyone has PS Plus 2&3 are on there.
If I was to rate the game on if only completing the main storyline and a few side sections, then I'd rate it higher than as the complete thing. Looks fantastic but if you go all over the map do the side quests it's quite shallow, they copied the open world formulae to the letter, but did nothing to make it stand out (graphics aside) from the pack when coming out towards the end of the PS4s life. So yes do I think it's a very good game, but the missions are incredibly repetitive and more style over substance.
I own all three, so nothing for me. But it's a good bunch. Maneater certainly drags towards the end but it was good simple fun, and a refreshing setting from person with gun and sword go here kill 5x of this. Greedfall showed that Spiders has improved as a developer.
I completely agree about the characters, they all felt very odd and off tone, which contributed to the story dragging in my opinion, that and the track something or somebody sections.
I went into CEX the other week and the PS4 games on average were more expensive than digital,I reckon the pandemic had forced them to not go as low as usual. And the prices in GAME second hand were beyond a joke, even for GAME I don't remember them being that high.
I've gone digital heavy this last year on PS4, mainly because I'm still trying to get back to China, and need to keep packing down.

@ShaiHulud It actually wasn't or isn't, unless they've added it today, wasn't on it the last few days.
Re: Gran Turismo 7 (PS5) - The Real Driving Simulator Makes Its Grand Return
Glad to hear, the last GT was a bit of a pain for just wanting to jump on an play, with cumbersome car requirements getting in the way.
Re: PS Now Subscribers Score Four New PS4 Games in March 2022
Shadow Warrior 3 isn't showing up on PS Now, same for everyone else?

Plague Tale is great fun, a little too long but not many single player games like it around, much better than the review on this site makes out.
The wrestling game is trash, wrestling games decades old did much better jobs than this.
CoD , I will give a try, I played one of the black ops games and the multiplayer was atrocious in comparison after playing the Battlefield games.

The last BloodRayne game (just called BloodRayne??) was pretty dire, which is why nobody probably talks about it , hopefully this is better.

Can't seem to find this on the store, only the pre-order.

Watching people play this on PC have been some of the funniest gaming videos as of late, definitely going to pick this up on console.

I've held of buying a Vita because they are still too pricey in my opinion, all things considered. Not going to bother any time soon.

Looks good, I've not been keen on many of the art styles used in some trpgs, but this looks alright and has good pace to the turns.

Looks like it has the same depth as Rocket Arena, which isn't much at all. I also can't wait for this art style to die.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Grand Theft Auto V Is the Week's Best-Selling Physical PlayStation Game
Do they track the sales in places like CEX? Because surely the majority of people buy physicalll copies there.

@Wormold And a big chunk of their 1st party games are ports to save on development costs.
Re: PS Now January 2021 Update Adds BioShock Remasters, The Crew 2, Frostpunk, More
Not impressed. I'd give the sim games ago, but you need a telescope to read the text in RTS games unless you sit right in front of the screen.

Most of these games don't show up if you try and filter them by price which is annoying, you have to manually search or scroll through the list.
