Man, Capcom's multiplayer spin-off just can't catch a break, can it? Resident Evil Re:Verse, the multiplayer companion piece to Resident Evil Village, was due to launch sometime this month, although we never did get a full release date. Now, the publisher has decided to push back the launch even further: it's now expected to arrive in 2022.

As stated in the above tweet, the team has delayed the game in order to "deliver a smooth gameplay experience", and will announce a new release date in the future. Given the lukewarm reception the title has received up to this point, perhaps a delay isn't such a bad idea. However, it was supposed to arrive alongside Village, so anyone who was looking forward to playing this in May probably isn't too happy.

Anyway, Re:Verse is now off the cards until next year. Were you excited to play it this summer? Tell us in the comments section below.
