@johncalmc Yes, this exactly. 'This is the game that will make you like roguelikes!'
No, it's not. It plays smoothly, but I'm still not drawn to the concept and the repetition. After entering the chambers for the eight time, I was done with it. I'm not a rejection junkie.
I can't believe how much more original, creative and mindblowing genious a game like It Takes Two is, but Hades keeps scoring higher in year lists. Oh well.
It's a good chuckle, laugh, and surprise from the first moment on. But it gets better and better. The worlds more beautiful, the ideas more brilliant.
And then there's a world that absolutely WOWED me like nothing else has in gaming over the last few years. Me and my online partner played through it with open mouth.
I don't know. It looks unmistakenbly like a Gran Turismo game and the colors of the cars and trees do look great, but there's something about it that doesn't quite work (for me).
The on-roof reflections on the Mazda feel a bit cel-shaded, and the building you cross around the finish line looks more that of any old arcade racer than something real. Maybe it's an uncanny-valley thing. It starts to look so real that the non-real looking things pop up immediately.
Loving this on Game Pass... but the performance is just very janky sometimes - especially snowy environments can drop down way below 30 frames per second.
The descriptions and names of the cars are fantastic however.
Yeah, quite a nice game. It's nothing groundbreaking and doesn't have climaxes like in Journey, Abzu or Rime, but it's still something I'm willing to finish on Game Pass.
The multiplayer mode truly adds playtime and value to this already wonderful adaptation of Tetris.
One moment, I was at the top 2% of the world in online multiplayer. That will be quite a challenge with crossplay and so many (VR) players. Let's goooo!
I don't have a PS5 or Xbox Series X yet. I thought I would definitely get a PS5 as my next-gen, but I'm very much in doubt now. Game Pass is an incredible service.
If I can get more friends to get an Xbox, so it would be the first choice multiplayer platform for coop gaming, the PS5 won't stand a chance.
Friends, however, are on PlayStation. If I can get my hands on a PS5 sometime... that may still be an option as well.
Finally picked up God of War. And it's great. Production values are through the roof, I really like the interaction between Kratos and Atreus, and the fights and environments are beautifully crafted.
Still - it doesn't really feel different from other triple-AAA games...
This will be free-to-play right? Then again, I doubt if it will attract a bigger audience than Rocket Arena. Everything about this looks forced. Not an art style any artist would like to make, but must because of the EA board room.
Shame to read it has an open world. To me, the best Lego games are the ones that bring in more focus in the overworld. The compact level-select world of Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is still by far my favourite; the LotR and Hobbit-parts just drag on too much.

Re: Game of the Year: Push Square Readers' Top 10 PS5, PS4 Games of 2021
More of you need to find a great partner to play It Takes Two with. It's such a magical ride!

Re: Game of the Year: #7 - It Takes Two
A true GOTY.

A triumph for creativity.
Re: Push Square's PlayStation Quiz of the Year 2021
9/25 and that's with some lucky guesses and some questions I knew. It all makes sense, as this was a real Xbox year for me.
Re: Game of the Year: #8 - Knockout City
Knockout City? In the top 10? Was the year really this bad?
Re: PS Plus Blocks Free Mortal Shell PS5 Upgrade
Imagine how attractive Sony's 'Game Pass alternative' will look after so many months of mediocre PS Plus games.
Re: Gran Turismo 7 Dazzles with Unedited Deep Forest Raceway PS5 Gameplay

Re: Acclaimed Co-Op Shooter Deep Rock Galactic Digs Down to PS5, PS4 in January
Played this on Xbox via Game Pass, and can say it's not very suitable if you're even remotely claustrophobic. It's so dark and small.
Re: Hands On: Kid A Mnesia: Exhibition Is a Truly Haunting Tribute to Everything Radiohead
It's not in VR, but it surely will be better when putting the VR-goggles on so you have this cinema-vibe, I think?
Oh, it's not for PS4.
Re: Upcoming PS5, PS4 Games for December 2021 and January 2022
@Gladio Agreed. It seems that this entire Q3 Q4 2021 is all about Xbox with Halo and Forza.
Re: Rumour: PS Plus November 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Leaked Ahead of Reveal
First Class Trouble sounds legit fun with a group of friends!
Re: Mini Review: Art of Rally (PS5) - Proof You Don't Need to Reinvent the Wheel
Loving this on Game Pass... but the performance is just very janky sometimes - especially snowy environments can drop down way below 30 frames per second.

Re: Riders Republic to Add BMXs, Rocket Powered Skis, and Seasonal Events
Well that wasn't COOLEST BADDEST MOST AWESOMEST RIDERS cringy at all.
Re: Kena: Bridge of Spirits (PS5) - A Gorgeous Adventure with an Old-School Approach
@Jayofmaya That's awesome. I found Scaler surprisingly good, even though it got a little repetitive. Good luck with Blinx though... oof.
Re: Kena: Bridge of Spirits (PS5) - A Gorgeous Adventure with an Old-School Approach
@Jayofmaya Oooh yes, Legend of Kay and Kena seem to have a comparable vibe going indeed!
Re: WipEout Rush Is a New Entry in Sony's Iconic Series for Smartphones in 2022
Card-based... euh... how does this even play?
Ah forget it. Zero interest.
Re: Tinykin Is a Pikmin-Inspired Puzzle Platformer Coming to PS5, PS4 Next Year
This looks like a proper original game with lots of room for the players creativity. Ace!
Re: Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania's Next Guest Character Is Someone You 'Won't Believe'
Mario!
That would be a surprise huh?
Or Astrobot!
Re: Hades (PS5) - Who Knew Escaping Hell Would Be So Heavenly?
Picked this up after all those glowing reviews stating this is a roguelike for people who don't like roguelikes.
But no matter how well it plays... it's still a roguelike. Not my cup of tea.
Re: Upcoming PS5, PS4 Games for August and September 2021
Just have the feeling Deathloop may get some 9's in reviews.
Re: Mini Review: Omno (PS4) - A Lovingly Crafted Adventure That Journey Fans Won't Want to Miss
Yeah, quite a nice game. It's nothing groundbreaking and doesn't have climaxes like in Journey, Abzu or Rime, but it's still something I'm willing to finish on Game Pass.
Re: Mini Review: The Procession to Calvary (PS4) - Absurd Point and Click Adventure Is Funny and Brilliantly Unique
Oh, this looks amazing. Let's check the price...
Re: Aliens: Fireteam Seemingly Out 24th August, Priced at $40
Urgh this looks SO generic it isn't even fun anymore.
Re: Tetris Effect Connects with PS4, PSVR in July for Free

Re: Poll: What Was Your Favourite PS5, PS4 Game at E3 2021?
I noticed I picked three games that will be included in Game Pass from day one...
I think Trek to Yomi is my fourth choice.
Basically then, not a very good E3 for Sony at all.
Re: Reaction: Xbox Game Pass Is the Thorn in PS5's Side

Re: Hands On: Knockout City Could Be Your New Favourite Multiplayer Game on PS4
@LordSteev Same! It looks soooo meh.
Re: New Necromunda: Hired Gun Trailer Details a Man's Best Friend
Already looks more fun than Outriders.
Re: Chess Knights: Shinobi Is a Stealth Puzzle Spin on the Classic Board Game
This may not be bad... but I feel that concepts like this work better as a phone game with simplified visuals and a topdown view.
Re: The First Days of Play Community Challenge Is Active Right Now
Am I still on time for stage 1, or did I already miss the backdrop? Ah well...
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 376
Finally picked up God of War. And it's great. Production values are through the roof, I really like the interaction between Kratos and Atreus, and the fights and environments are beautifully crafted.
Still - it doesn't really feel different from other triple-AAA games...
Re: Mini Review: Call of the Sea (PS5) - A Pretty But Predictable Puzzler
Wow, this score feels waaay to low for me. The story that unfolds, the beautiful landscapes. I loved every second of it and completed it 100% on Xbox.
Re: Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Gameplay Trailer Looks Simply Sublime
Ok, that looks brilliant. Never got into these games longer than three hours each - but still.
Re: Here's Some More Early Gameplay Footage of Hot Wheels Unleashed
I've watched two gameplay videos and it already seems like too much of the same.
Re: Mini Review: Narita Boy (PS4) - 80s Soaked Action Adventure Is a Digital Delight
Nice, looking forward to play this... on, indeed, Game Pass.
Re: PS5's Deathloop Gets Gorgeous Game Informer Cover
This will be one of the games of the year, says my feeling.
Re: Best PS5, PS4 Game Deals on PS Store This Week (3rd March to 9th March)
Talos is a decent puzzle game, but beware: it can stutter or crash seemingly at any point in the game.
Re: Hands On: Co-Op Puzzle Adventure It Takes Two Offers Outrageous Variety
This really looks like a great game. One of the most anticipated releases of the year for me.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Games for March 2021?
I'll be trying all of these games - great selection.
Re: Knockout City Brings Dodgeball to the Streets on PS4

Re: Soapbox: We Were Here, the Free PS4 Game No One Will Play with Me
This is a brilliant little column and applies to all my Xbox online sessions.
Online coop somehow works better with multiple players than with just one in my experience.
Re: RIDE 4 (PS5) - A Motorcycle Crash Felt from the Inside of the DualSense
Incredible how games in this utterly bad series just keep coming. Must sell like hot cakes then.
Re: You Can No Longer Play Battleborn As Take-Two Shuts Down Online Servers
It wasn't really Gearbox answer to, right, as Battleborn and Overwatch released at the same time?
Re: PS Plus February 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
In before Destruction Allstars only receives 6-7 out of tens. And its online community dries after a month.
Control is full of glitches, unfortunately, although it does at least look pretty cool for office environments-only.
Re: Hands On: Balan Wonderworld Is an Unusual PS5, PS4 Platformer That Doesn't Style It Out
Dream-like quality? It looks a little Built-in-Dreams-like quality...
Re: New PS Store Sale Sends Retro PS4 Games to the Bargain Bin
I recommend Crash Nitro Racing for everyone loving splitscreen gaming. It's a blast.
Re: Poll: Do You Have a PS5?
Sony needs to step up the production and also distribution. I'd love to buy a PS5 from Sony directly, tied to my PSN account for example.
Re: Cyber Shadow (PS5) - A Stylish, Challenging Action Platformer
Not what I would call stylish, but really seems to scratch that retro-itch then.
Re: LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Features 300 Playable Characters, Open Ended Design
Shame to read it has an open world. To me, the best Lego games are the ones that bring in more focus in the overworld. The compact level-select world of Lego Pirates of the Caribbean is still by far my favourite; the LotR and Hobbit-parts just drag on too much.
Re: The Evolution of Agent 47's Face Makes for Nightmare Fuel
The Hitman 2 face is anyone is someone you could actually trust - that's the scary part.
