The PlayStation Plus games lineup for March 2021 has been confirmed, and in our humble opinion, it's yet another great month for subscribers. Sony's seemingly been going all-out with PS Plus since the launch of the PS5, and it doesn't look like it'll be slowing down anytime soon: March's offerings include intriguing puzzler Maquette on the current-gen system, accompanied by role-playing blockbuster Final Fantasy VII Remake and hardcore looter shooter Remnant: From the Ashes on PS4. PSVR adventure Farpoint is also up for grabs next month.
But what do you think of March's PS Plus selection? Is it another big win for Sony, or does it fall short of previous months, in your opinion? Vote in our polls, and then give us your honest thoughts in the comments section below.

Too funny, I had held out playing FF VII remake even though I was a big fan of the original. Just bought it for $30 a couple of weeks ago and finished it last night. Figures.
I’ll be honest, as someone who bought FF7 Remake twice, it’s hard to be two excited for that, but I can’t wait to play Maquette. So not the best month for me, but an excellent month overall.
I'm super hyped for FF7 Remake, really liked the demo, but held off buying it for some weird reason.
Remnant: From the Ashes is my most anticipated due to getting FFVII Remake at launch and already playing/loving it to death. Looks like a fun co-op game to sink a few hours into.
Only not a great month for me just because I already own Final Fantasy 7 Remake. It would be a brilliant month for anyone who doesn’t own it!
I'm more on the meeh side of things. I aready own Final fantasy 7 remake and Remnant from the ashes
I was about to buy FF7 so this was perfect timing for me. Being behind on my releases after a year out of gaming’s proving pretty advantageous lately
@PeakUnagi I bought Remnant during a sale recently as I was eager to try it out (and most reviews said it was quite fun), but it left me very underwhelmed : bad graphics and animation, cumbersome combat and shooting, bland artistic design and repetitive gameplay... I guess it just wasn't for me...
A bit miffed that we can't upgrade FFVII tbh. I'd be fine with even a £10-15 upgrade option, but think that might be the first time I don't redeem a PS Plus game. If I ever want to play it, can't see any reason playing the PS4 version if a PS5 version is out there. And the PS4 one is at full price £10 cheaper than the PS5 one and comes with a free upgrade. I can also see it being priced cheaper at sales as well.
Already played ff7r so Remnant is probably the game il try first. That or Maquette. Saw a trailer for it and it looks interesting
@tselliot basically the same for me. I bought it on Black Friday since it was on a good sale. I just started playing it about 2 weeks ago and now I’m on chapter 14. I’m happy it’s free for everyone though.
Already got FFVIIR and the rest don't really appeal to me. I'm not fussed though as I only pay for Plus for my daily dose of Red Dead Online. The free games are just a bonus.
Already have FFVII and Farpoint, can't say I'm bothered about the others and I probably won't be renewing plus anyway as I don't really use it
Not interested in any of them, personally.
I've been playing online more recently with the lockdown, and with a couple of mates I've been bouncing between BF4, Division 1 & 2, Ghost of Tsushima, Breakpoint, and more recently DayZ.
With that in mind, I might pick up Remnant if the other guys are interested as it's 3-player co-op... otherwise, there's nothing there for me.
I'm quite happy with Maquette. No clue about Remnant as I've never heard of it and it apparently slipped under this site's radar. Already have Farpoint physical (with the gun no less). Will skip FFVIIR because I see no point when it can't upgrade to the PS5 version.
I've always been happiest when brand-new games are on Plus, so Maquette alone is enough to make me content honestly.
@Olmaz Oh really. That's unfortunate. Same though I heard nothing but good things but I guess I'll just have to wait and see until it comes out. Appreciate the heads up
@tselliot @Waffles12415 Upside: if you ever lapse on your PS Plus subs, the copy you bought outright will still work and is yours to do with as you please (assuming you bought the physical edition, that is).
Final Fantasy VII Remake and Farpoint are great games. Shame I already own them, but still a great month if you don’t.
I’ll give Maquette a try but not really my type of game.
Nearly bought ff7 for £30 at Xmas, held off and bought FIFA 21 instead. Then the price went up to £60, and I wrote it off. So now I'm very happy I waited.
For me FF7 is a right winner, but I've done the plat, so no use for me really until the ps5 version comes out (which this won't upgrade to) so Marquette is next! Looks quite cool from the trailer, so I'd say a very good month for people.
@tselliot Hate when that happens. I've had it happen to me 3 different times. Lol.
@xRetrox Same.
I don’t have PS Plus, but I’m happy with what I’ve got!
NINJA APPROVED
Would be super excited about FF VII, but now that a PS5 version is coming out, will wait for that instead. Been wanting to get it, but wanted to clear out some of my backlog first (even though I can't stop buying other games, funny how that works).
I mean, no matter my degree of interest in FFVIIR, getting a JRPG is always one heck of a month on PS+. Tenfold moreso since PS3 and Vita exclusion.
Final Fantasy VIII remake and Marquette. Win win. Already played Farpoint, it's....ok. Not interested in the other game. Overall it's a very good month of PS+
Incredible month. I played FF7 remake and got the plat then sold it, I’ve been wanting to go back to it.
I’m actually really looking forward to Maquette and Remnant. Might try Far Point.
I’m really happy so many more people will get to play FF7 Remake.
Already own FFVII Remake, and don't care about the others, so not a great month for me.
@Wormold Nah, way I understand it is once you "purchase" it on Plus, your account is locked out of being able to outright buy the PS4 version, same with all Plus games. So if in the future the PS4 version is on a decent sale, which you can also upgrade to the PS5 version for free, you will be locked out of taking advantage of the offer. It's a bit of a sneaky one.
@tselliot This happens to me every time I buy a movie. Almost every movie I have bought has ended up on Netflix or Hulu within a month of two of buying it. It happens to the best of us. Haha!
Yes extremely happy.i havent play final fantasy 7 remake before.i beat remnant from the ashes last year.amazing game.remnant from the ashes and nioh are the best souls like games i ever play. Great month.word up son
Great month.
Don’t own any but fancy trying them all.
Word up to your mother.
STOCKSY APPROVED
Mostly happy. Would be very if I didn’t already have FF7R or if this version would give me the update so I could sell mine.
Still happy to have farpoint, although I’ll have to wait until I can get the aim controller to play it. Marquette also looks good.
Don't own any one.
Farpoint - don't have VR
Remnant - looking forward
Maquette - don't have ps5 yet, but add
FF7R - looking forward even if hugely disappointed by demo (combat system is sooo chaotic)
I’ll gladly take FFVIIR as I never bought it. I’m also really curious about Maquette, since I loved The Witness and it reminds of that game.
Always been hesitant to drop $$$ on Remnant, as it sounds like a winner, but the graphics and gunplay look a bit dated.. Excited to try it out for free!
I do not own FF7R And I do not go in for borrowed Games ie PS+...........I am however happy because the Price for FF7R Will plummet may even become a Playstation hit for £15.99...........However I will probably wait for a -50% taking it to £7.99 only then will i take the bite 🕍
I CBA’d buying the remake and opted for OG on Switch which I still haven’t played yet (I’ve never played a proper FF games [only Tactics Advance]) so I’m pretty happy with this!
@Wormold @DrClayman
There was an update, a couple of years ago if I recall correctly, that corrected the issue of not being able to buy a PS Plus game you owned through the service, if and when your subscription to said service ended. It basically allowed you to purchase the game, finally correcting that flaw that was associated with PS Plus.
There was even an article about it here on Push Square. So you can lay your fears to rest of this is a worrying issue for you.
Anyone with VR just a heads up. I own Farpoint already and it make me very nauseous. Especially the coop, Its very intense.
@Stuffgamer1 Remnant is like Dark Souls but with guns, I loved it , levels are procedurally generated.
Hard to believe anyone could be disappointed with that selection, even if you have these games its a great selection for the community .
i'm worried, first we have a psl exclusive dlc, then the game comes out on ps plus, i hope i can see part 2 on playstation 4
Would be very happy to have PS5 version of FFVII. But I will get PS4 version instead. Just knowing that a better version of the game exists out there will prevent me from enjoying what I get from PS+. So, there's nothing for me to be happy about
Even though I already own FF7 Remake, but it gives me joy to see PS gives out excellent selection of games for its PS+ subscribers.
Its a really awesome month for those that don't have the games. I hope Maquette is good as that's the only one I don't have; it will be nice to be able to download these instead of swapping discs now. BTW Remnant is great. Its one of the better "Souls-Like" games out there. It has well-designed guns, abilities, and awesome boss encounters.
fantastic month for me really looking forward to both FF and remnant....
Great month for PS Plus looking forward to playing Maquette and FF-7 remake.
I can't say I'm particularly looking forward to any of them, but none of them scream that I won't like them, so 4 new games to try can't be much worse than a reasonably good month.
I already had FF7R so only remnant and far point are new to me seems ok but it’s worth mentioning that the ps plus version of FF7R doesn’t get the ps5 upgrade version confirmed by Sony you have to buy the game which I did at launch so I guess I’m happy for once I brought it rather then get through ps plus.
@DrClayman there might well be a £10-£15 upgrade option for FF7 remake. Nothing I've seen has absolutely ruled this out, the only thing I'm certain of is that simply claiming the game on PS plus, doesn't get you the PS5 version. We won't know if there's a (relatively) cheap, PS plus to PS5 upgrade until the game is actually out, because that would count as an add on and it's not the sort of thing that would be on the store pre-launch (similar to how the Yuffie DLC will be available to PS4 game owners with the upgrade, but that isn't showing ok the store at the moment either)
I'm not saying there definitely will be a cheap upgrade option (I couldn't possibly tell you that), but you'd be mad to pass up the game on PS plus if you want it anyway
Unless there’s a cheap upgrade option for FF, it just makes me not want to touch it. They actually found a way to ruin a great month.
It's a great month - more than makes up for last month, where I'd bought Control in the black Friday sale specifically because of the PS5 upgrade.
We do seem to be a bit of a salty bunch though - all this sentiment of "Sony isn't giving me the free upgrade of this fantastic game, so the fantastic game is ruined". The lowest price that FF7R had ever gone down to so far, isn't much lower than the price I paid for a year's PS Plus (£37.50 in the black Friday sale on Amazon). And we're getting it as part of PS plus. that's an amazing deal, even if you're not getting the free PS5 upgrade that "real" owners didn't even know they were buying at the time..
As nice as it is, that FF7 is for free. I'm absolutely hot for the PS5 version. So I won't touch it until it comes out in June. So I would have wished for something else
I own none of the games and I couldn't be happier!
@danlk1ng it's worth keeping in mind, though, that Square Enix did offer upgrade options for FFXV, so it wouldn't be the first time. Unlike Persona 5 Royal, for which it was clear there wouldn't be such an option ever available.
@viktorcode that's an... interesting way to live your life. I mean, considering that so many ps games eventually get PC ports, I guess that means you'll never enjoy another ps game again, since one day there will be a superior version released on PC. And even then, a better PC can play it even better.
Might as well give up on gaming altogether. Just to be on the safe side.
Maquette never heard about that game now I have and it looks like fun. Remnant from Ashes i dont have that one either and love too try that too. Somehow the least exciting is FF7R i own that one already i rather see smaller games come too Plus because most big games i buy on release.
Already have FF7R physically and don't know much about the other 2 but still a great month.
Control last month was a perfect game for plus, I probably never would have bought it but I enjoyed it (especially the maze), hopefully this will do the same for others.
I may go back to FF7R for the platinum, it came out at a busy time; RE3 remake, Doom Eternal and TLOU2, so didnt give it as much time as I usually would have. Yuffie is my favourite character too so excited for the DLC.
A bit off topic but as my personal favourite I still wish SE had put more effort into the FF8 remaster, it is much better originally on Stream with mods. I also find it strange they have left 6 alone considering how well regarded it is
It’s a brilliant month and I’ve always wanted to play FFVII but after watching the recent State of Play, I’m really not sure if it’s my cup of tea. Visually, it’s a feast but the dialogue and the voice acting is just bad/annoying. I’ve never understood the appeal of FF to be honest. I wish I did.
@Channel42 I would buy it if they make it with upgraded sprites and a some upgraded graphics i dont even need it too be 3D.
@naruball Not exactly. I have PlayStation 5, not PlayStation 4. So, having a free game but with sub par experience I can get on my platform, does it worth my time? For me the answer is no. The question becomes would I buy FF VII, or skip it.
I don't care about versions on other platforms.
@Flaming_Kaiser I always expected them to remake it after the 3, 4, 5 DS games but the scope is a different level I suppose. A 2D upgrade faithful to the style with quality of life improvements I would enjoy, anything with Celes I won't complain
I already own FF so can't get excited about that, but if I didn't own it? Then I'd want the PS5 version so still wouldn't be excited about it lol.
Farpoint I'd play but I don't have PSVR.
Now I don’t have to open my collectors edition of FFVII. A perfect surprise.
Stil can't believe FFVIIR will be available for PSPlus. Amazing month for me!
@Channel42 Cant agree more the story is brilliant. A Vanillaware 2D treatment with the original story im all in. Its less expensive then going full 3D and I'm sure there are enough fans that want too play FF6 again. You know what i want a new Valkyrie Profile. 😁
Its not a bad month, I am a bit bummed that the FF7 remake doesn't get the ps5 update. I do understand it why they wouldn't but it looks bad considering the last 2 months offered ps4 games with the ps5 version as well (Maneater, Control) sure there not as big as FF but I feel by offering the ps5 version as well your able to bring in more people and use that as bait to potentially attract more people to buy the next one .
I think some people are going to Accidently screw themselves out of their free 7Remake upgrade by redeeming and trading in, but I'm glad I put off buying it and can enjoy it for free.
I not too bothered as I have loads of games to play. Although I am looking forward to playing ff7r on ps5 . Own disk version but because yuffie edition only available on ps5. Probably sonys strategy to push up sales ; hopefully more people get to buy a ps5. I'm loving my ps5. I'm hoping they add folders and options to search the game library .
I'd be happy if I hadn't already played FFVIIR.
It’s so great to have a 4th story about the PS Plus games. 🙄
@Otherbarry Maneater was only the PS5 version. What you may be thinking of is they refunded everyone who bought it shortly before it was announced as a PS+ game (giving some people the PS4 version for free).
Best Month Ever. Very interested in all titles. I will platinum FF7Remake. I'm buzzing
From what I saw of my friend streaming FF7R, it was largely a cutscene-heavy walking/running simulator more than anything, so I'm not interested. The others don't appeal to me at all.
Not really my type of games but I can admit its a fantastic selection. Glad folks will enjoy it.
Yea I also got Farpoint at launch and its great for people who didn't play it.
I'll be trying all of these games - great selection.
It's mostly Maquette for me but there's no denying that it's a very strong month overall, so "mostly happy"
To be honest, the I know that people like the ps plus games but I know alot of people who feel disappointed with the ps plus games on PS4 since December when the december ps plus was a decent line up of games. I'm just saying that some of the ps plus games are a bit crap and to the others I need to try but it's just a genre that doesn't appeal to me. Playstation need to do different genres of games and better quality of games to appeal to everyone not to the one audience. In my opinion they need to bring out more games like fall guys, just cause 4 and even final fantasy which are big name games which the majority of people like and enjoy; we don't want to see games like hollow knight which you can buy for about £5 to £10. I'm not saying that the games are pointless and fully crap but they just need more big title games.
@tselliot Well for what it's worth, you don't get the free PS5 upgrade with the PS+ version, so at least you can get that. And you need the PS5 version for the Yuffie DLC too.
Already played FF but to have it included is cracking. Might try remnant
10% said “crap selection” 😂😂
Absolute clowns 🤡
the selection is ok this time , I'm actually looking forward to Maquette, it seems to have some interesting ideas.
@Jacko11 there are people that think because they own the games it’s bad. I own ff but can see the immense value in it being on there. My only gripe with the lack of free upgrade is because if I have it digitally as well I don’t have to get up and swap disks
Good thing I held off on FF7Remake at launch. My mind is ready.
@DrClayman I’d like to think they’d incorporate an upgrade fee, rather than just saying “Nah, mate”. Some more money is better than no more, after all.
@Milktastrophe I do belive your right. I thought it was both the ps4 and ps5 version of the game . Thank you for the correction.
PS plus has been good to me this year, thankfully so as there isn't much to play on PS5.
I enjoyed and got the platinum on Man-eater.
My girlfriend got the platinum for Concrete Genie.
I'm playing Control and absolutely loving it, had I known it was this good I would have gladly paid 60 bucks for it. Probably the most use I've had from ps plus in a long time
@TrueAssassin86x same here. it is definitely one of the best selections they've offered though so I can't complain
I've already played Final Fantasy VII Remake so I can't say I care about any of this.
@Danloaded Maquette is the kind of game i would have never found out about if it were not for plus. That why i live these indies in Plus the big titles are the one i will buy anyway.
@PeakUnagi Remnant is a blast in co-op. Even though the game is challenging at times, my friends and I had a blast playing it in co-op.
@gusglez I'm curious to try it soon. I'll just end up in games with a lot of randoms but I'm still looking forward to playing. I enjoy a good challenge 👌
ff7 remake has been on my list of games but it is far down the list, good to not have to buy it
So happy that I never got a chance to play the FF7 remake yet. Saved me some money as this was going to be a definite purchase!
