Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Games for January 2021?

Greedfall was just unleashed on Xbox Game Pass as well. I expected something good, but the acting and movement is just... terrible. Deinstalled it after fifteen minutes.

As I don't have a PS5, Tomb Raider is my highlight this month. It's a good month, although Game Pass offers so much more value for money, that I now see PS Plus as an online subscription rather than a game-giveaway. This perspective helps quite a bit preventing a disappointment.

Re: Soapbox: I Can't Keep Up with Service Games

This is all too familiair for me. I see myself running toward compact games I can actually relax in for a few hours. Games I finished this year are Tetris Effect, Call of the Sea, Tell Me Why and Sea of Solitude: compact experiences, in the last three cases with limited freedom and still great feeling gameplay.

And it occurs in online coop with friends too. I'd rather have a couple of games of Killing Floor 2 and Warhammer Vermintide - which just feel finished after some time, but you can tweak difficulty levels - than Borderlands 3 or Destiny 2, which only seems to be out to get you to play as long as possible. Without too much focus.

Same for adventures. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End already felt too long for me, and I enjoyed the first limited island of Assassin's Creed Odyssey more than the gigantic open world that followed.

Whether it's via subscription models, lootboxes or making the biggest possible open world - please gamemakers, just limit the space and make the core mechanics as engaging as possible.

Re: Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 (PS5) - Everything's Falling into Place

Is it still possible to just remove the Puyo Puyo part from multiplayer games and just enjoy the best multiplayer Tetris on PS4?

Furthermore: are the differences between the characters actually explained somewhere? I still don't know which characters apply which skills in the previous Puro Puyo Tetris, and that's after 100+ hours of multiplayer...

Re: Hands On: The New PS App Is a Humongous Upgrade

It looks and feels awesome, but there are some major downsides as well, in my book.

  • There's no friend feed anymore. I loved seeing which trophies friends got. I would love to see it added on the News tab.
  • It's more sale-oriented now. You won't see user reviews anymore in the Store.
  • It isn't possible to directly compare your trophies to a friend (if you're looking for that, I suggest the YaPSNapp or PS Trophies app).
  • The 'download to console' button doesn't know which games I already have installed, it appears.

Things can be subject to change, of course. One week later, I LOVE Sony's new approach to parties. I think it's incredibly handy to always have a group chat with players nearby.
