That looks quite cool. Now, if only UbiSoft stopped putting guards on rooftops... which diminish the entire advantage and the sense of a logical world.
It hits the right notes and sweeps up the gameplay on screen. If it means developers can put money in other aspects of a game, or less deep-pocketed developers can work on a more ambitious game easier, well… wouldn’t you?
Just finished Stray last week and really liked it. Just like the equally great Kena: Bridge of Spirits I probably wouldn’t have played it without PS Plus Extra. Love how many games these services just make you try.
It's the same sale all over again. Try filtering out on price, lowest price first. You'll see the biggest trophy hunting-shovelware on sale for less than a dollar... just like any sale. Still, there are some nice ones out there.
It’s my first FF and at first I thought I really liked the cinematic battles, but 7 hours in the game they start to bore me. They’re either too automatic with the help of some timely rings, or too tiring with too much button mashing.
I picked up some other hack & slashers in the meantime, and even the very easy entry Ravenlok battles feel more interactive…
As much as I want to love it, I’m at a 7/10 for now.
Wait, was this out already? Seriously missed that.
Maybe Sony needs to put more effort into promoting indies on the PS Store, rather than only boosting the games you already know.
It's not just competition from big games though. There's tons of indies you can play for 'free' on PS Plus Extra and Game Pass, and even way more great narrative indie games are on sale about every month on both stores, going as low as 2-5 dollars!
It's just stupid to buy a new game at 20-70 dollars when there's so much ultra-cheap gems yet to play.
Bramble already discounted! It's tempting, but you know, when a new game gets discounted within a month, I have the feeling I can have it around $8 in a year.
And with my current backlog... there's no need now.
Good review... though... I don't agree on the visuals part. After spending hours and hours on previous GT's and knowing which visual style to expect, I can't get over the feeling the environments look utterly stale, lifeless, and ugly.
Maybe it all fades when you're behind the wheel and you're busy racing, but wow, it doesn't look good outside of the replay mode.
'That's not to say new people can't play – of course they can – but like hell are they going to understand what's going on, especially with the earliest campaign content entirely removed with no indication it's ever going to come back.'
This is the problem I have with Destiny 2 for two years already. It's nothing BUT a grind fest for new players, facing you up to waaaaay too high level enemies.
Only finding the right mission - or something you can actually get into - from the planet select screen is a drag already.

Re: Over 1,000 PS5, PS4 Games You May Have Missed Going Cheap
If you’re up for great psychological stories: Sea of Solitude and Minute of Islands are both around $2,50 and well worth playing.
Re: Over 1,000 PS5, PS4 Games You May Have Missed Going Cheap
Good games under and around $1, between all the crap:
Re: Another Grimdark, Warhammer 40,000 Co-Op Shooter Announced for PS5
Quite a fun game, but for some reason it didn't get me as hooked as Warhammer Vermintide.
Re: Forget Yasuke, Assassin's Creed Shadows' Naoe Has Parkour Tricks and a Grappling Hook
That looks quite cool. Now, if only UbiSoft stopped putting guards on rooftops... which diminish the entire advantage and the sense of a logical world.
Re: 15 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Announced for August 2024
Wanted to try out Cult of the Lamb, nice.
Perhaps I might try The Witcher with PS5 visuals too... perhaps.
Re: Big Budget, Free-to-Play Looter Shooter The First Descendant Finally Drops in July on PS5
This trailer is class. Amazing production.
Re: TopSpin 2K25 Is Being Slaughtered for Its Always Online Requirement, Even When Playing Solo
I think the always online part is overdrawn. The missing of online doubles or, I don’t know, PLAYING WITH FRIENDS however…
Re: 13 New Games Land on PS Plus Extra, Premium Next Week
Well, that's nothing for me. Although Resident Evil 3 could be great, of course.
Re: Upcoming Sea of Stars Update Adds Local Co-Op in a New Mode
That's great! Hope I can pick this up with my completed-the-story-not-the-extras save!
Re: Almost 2,000 PS5, PS4 Games Going Cheap in Bumper New Year PS Store Sale
Some interesting ones I stumbled upon:
Re: PS Plus Extra Game Teardown Is Out Now on PS5
I truly hoped this would be a coop game. Shame.
Re: 14 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Coming Next Week
Oof, nothing for me here. That said, I still got plenty on my hands. Currently into Disco Elysium and The Forgotten City. Both very intriguing.
Re: Audio Experts Are in Love with PS5's New Pulse Explore Earbuds
So, just one audio expert then.
Re: Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Update Available Now, Here Are All the Patch Notes
Because of the reviews of this game, I picked up Miles Morales from PS Plus Extra. It really baffles me just how polished the game is. Just wow.
Re: The Finals Opted for AI Voices Because 'It Gets Us Far Enough in Terms of Quality'
It hits the right notes and sweeps up the gameplay on screen. If it means developers can put money in other aspects of a game, or less deep-pocketed developers can work on a more ambitious game easier, well… wouldn’t you?
Re: Despite Being on PS Plus Extra, Sea of Stars Tops 100k Sales in One Day
Great to see it rewarded. It's such a great game.
The Hades of 2023.
Re: PS Plus Drives Down PS Store Prices on Over 2,000 PS5, PS4 Games
And... Disco Elysium for €13,99!
The timing amidst Sea of Stars, Starfield and Baldur's Gate 3 is insane... still bought it to play it later.
Re: Sea of Stars (PS5) - PS Plus Extra's Retro-Inspired RPG Is the Whole Package
Fired this up yesterday and three hours just flew by.
Absolutely love the compact combat, the soundtrack and the visuals. If it continues this strong, it's a GOTY contender for me.
Re: Mini Review: Trine 5: A Clockwork Conspiracy (PS5) - A Well Rounded, Fresh But Familiar Puzzle Platformer
I've started up the first game, the second one and the third Trine at some point, but I feel they all suffer from clunky, floaty physics.
Re: Tren Sends Media Molecule's Dreams Out in Style
Just played this after this article and...
Wow! Can't remember when I played with such a smile on my face. It's fun and SOOOO creative.
Re: Round Up: Baldur's Gate 3 Reviews Suggest It's One of the Best RPGs Ever Made
@GeneJacket I've never heard this before, but this seems like the best possible way coop is implemented.
Man, after Diablo IV and Final Fantasy XVI, I could totally get into a third game this year of which I thought: 'This isn't anything for me.'
Re: The Remnant 2 PS5 Platinum Trophy Seems Fairly Achievable
Man, I hope this arrives on PS Plus Extra someday, so I can convince friends to give this a chance to. Would love to play this in coop.

Re: Atlas Fallen 'Behind the Sand' Gameplay Offers Glimpses of an Expansive Fantasy World
Could be a big surprise this year. Like Remnant II and the new Lords of the Fallen.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Final Fantasy 16?
Yes, and while I love the visuals, the story and the acting, the fights are SO button bashy my arm went sore after a while.
I can't be the only one, right?
Re: Guerrilla Collective, Sponsored by PlayStation, Showcases Indie Games in June
Nice! Long live the indies!
Re: Marathon Channelling Mirror's Edge, WipEout, Formula One with Striking Art Style
I get it, Bungie = hype.
However, remember the last games that wanted to succeed with bright and fluorescent colours? Brink? Lawbreakers? Riders Republic?
All great successes...

Re: After Us (PS5) - Big Swings and Some Big Misses in This Artsy Platformer
That's a shame - but it still has my interest. Picking this up on an upcoming sale.
Re: Mini Review: Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun (PS5) - Rock Solid Shooter Gets Bogged Down in Design
This is the harshest review I'm seeing on this, what seems like a little gem like Prodeus.
That said though, I'd really like to see online coop in games like this.
Re: Next Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Patch Is Out Today, Focuses on Bug Fixes
@Flaming_Kaiser Not great? I think the hypehatetrain is greatly overrated. I love this game, 41 hours in.
Re: Rhythm Game Drums Rock Crashes PSVR2 Launch Lineup
You know, there are YouTube videos that show the game. Maybe a good addition to such a short article.
Re: Jaw Dropping Kayak Sim Targeting PSVR2 Launch Day
This looks fantastic. Drop the resolution, let me control it with two thumbsticks and release it for the original PSVR as well! o/
Re: Sniper Elite 5 (PS5) - Deeply Replayable Sandbox Shooter Is a Real French Fancy
Not a single mention of the coop mode? It's by far the most interesting thing about it!
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Games for May 2022?
Curse of the Dead Gods is actually REALLY good.
It's not Hades, but it's REALLY good.
Re: Babylon's Fall (PS5) - This Limp, Confusing Service Game Has Nothing Going for It
So I get this is the blandest game ever. But hey, microtransactions in a $50 game, where's that in the Gran Turismo 7 review?
Re: Gran Turismo 7 (PS5) - The Real Driving Simulator Makes Its Grand Return

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Is Getting Review Bombed on PS5, PS4 for No Reason
Metacritic, do yourself a favor, just close the user review section already. It's not reviews anymore, it's just blatant trolling.
Re: Eye-Popping Elden Ring Gameplay Explores Castle Mourne
Eye-popping? Those grey areas look like something from the PS3 era! I guess these visuals will have their moments...
Re: Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Is So PS2 It Hurts
Inb4 actual 7/10's because it's actually really guilty-pleasure enjoyable.
Re: Random: Fall Guys Is Now Available in Monopoly Form
I was going to comment 'Yeah but then again every franchise in the world has a Monopoly version'.
The Knockout-obstacles look like fun additions though.
Re: Poll: What's the Best Uncharted Game?
Game 1 and 3. The ones with less repetition and more story.
4 is way too long for my taste. Quantity over quality.
Re: Horizon Call of the Mountain Is Your First Glimpse of PS5's Next-Gen PlayStation VR2
Well, Guerilla is talking about an adventure... so it may be longer than an on-rail thing looking at big feet.
Re: PS5's New PSVR Headset Officially Named PlayStation VR2, Full Specs Revealed
So, just as many cables?
I want to and should finish the brilliant Astrobot on the PSVR, but I never get to it, because it's just too much hassle every time.
