Believe it or not, we're now in the final month of 2021 and looking ahead to the new year. Pretty much all of this year's major games for PlayStation 5 and PS4 are out, and it seems as though things will be quietening down in December and January. That's not to say there's nothing to look forward to, though — as always, there are plenty of exciting titles on the horizon. Let's have a look, shall we?

Chorus - 3rd December
Chorus, or CHORVS if you wanna get serious about it, was announced during an Xbox event last year, but is indeed making its way to PS5 and PS4 too. This is a "true evolution of the space-combat shooter", with gameplay mostly putting you in the cockpit of a nimble (and sentient) space fighter taking down the baddies in colourful, bombastic shootouts. It also leans into its story, with protagonist Nara on a quest to exact revenge on a dangerous cult. Not many are talking about this game, but it could be a sleeper hit.
Among Us - 21st December
What more is there to say about Among Us? InnerSloth's social deduction game exploded in popularity and has been slowly coming to other platforms since, with PS5 and PS4 finally getting a slice of the pie this month. In addition to the digital version, you can pick up various physical releases, complete with all sorts of retail exclusive goodies. Stop acting sus and join the fun, why don't you?
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction - 20th January
Ubisoft is taking its Rainbow Six series in a new direction with Extraction, a co-op focused experience for up to three players. Your team enters a hazardous zone infested with a dangerous alien goo, and it's your job to get rid of it. With multiple Operators to play, dozens of guns to master, and a constantly changing threat, this will be an intense, strategic experience.

Well, I'm quite excited about Chorus, but also quite nervous at the seeming media blackout. Anybody else got an eye on this one?
Eh.. its all about February really isn't it?
@nofriendo
Not heard about a media blackout but seen a couple if good vids on https://www.reddit.com/r/ChorusVideoGame/
Heavenly Bodies & Wired West for sure. Blood Hunt got pushed back…
They’re trying to charge $30 for Among Us, lol!
The only good thing from this is that another year is ending and next year will probably be a banger in gaming!
Got my eyes on Chorus and Solar Ash.
I'm excited for Chorus but haven't seen much on it for a while. Releases soon so I'm hoping for another trailer before release.
It'll be fun to play a narrative-focused space-combat game. Not exactly a common genre out there.
Oh and Weird West too! That looks sick! Plus there's also the physical special "Sunset" edition of Yuoni out on Dec.2nd 😁
@Dark_One_ That 8-minute gameplay preview has resuscitated my enthusiasm. Piloting the ship looks like loads of fun. It seems the perfect blend of Starlink's arcade-y fun and Everspace's darker atmosphere. Thanks for the lead!
Did I missed release, or where is that American Maniac Circus (or how the hell it was named)?
@nofriendo
no problem, looks pretty good to me too
Hahaha when Aaron’s video is better than the entire list of releases for December and January. Good stuff mate 👌
solar ash and weird west I'm definitely interested in, will definitely be picking up weird west, the rest, meh, that among us cover art is awful 🤷scratch that, 12 minutes and the vr zombie shooter look interesting enough. Some nice art in asterix, that metroidvania game and witchwood but they don't much interest me.
You’ve missed Rugby 22. Just saying.
I only play kids games.
@LazyLombax laughable.
@RichB77 Rugby 22... what's that one all about?
Chorus is definitely on my list for December:)
Eternal Cylinder looks very interesting. ACE Team always makes some very weird and enjoyable games.
Amazon have Among Us at December 14TH.
Gutted that there's still no PS4 release in sight for Circuit Superstars.
Heard of Chorus for the first time last night. Looked at a few trailers. Pre-ordered right away! Looks like a badass arcade space shooter, right up my alley!
@Anti-Matter you just know these kinda titles are the ones that'll for some unknown reason be worth bare ££££ in the future 😂 better get collecting!
Is anyone in the entire world going to buy Who Wants to be a Millionaire on PS5? Surely absolutely nobody is asking for that
Oh and Chorus looks interesting, will wait for reviews, and Solar Ash has been one of my most anticipated games since I first got wind of it so excited for that!
Well, that was depressing
My God, Rainbow Six...how they butchered my boy
The first three games are probably my all time favorite games and I've been gaming on various platforms since 1993.
Fortunately for my wallet, its looking like a quiet couple of months for me - nothing here that I want to buy...
That's OK as 2022 is looking exciting and I have a LOT of games in my backlog to play before Horizon: Forbidden West that I have pre-ordered releases.
Also just picked up R&C:Rift Apart, Far Cry 6 & Guardians of the Galaxy from BF Sales & Ebay (all brand new) so along with whatever Games come with PS+ and Game Pass Ultimate (which includes Games with Gold) over the next few months, I have plenty of options.
@nofriendo Yeah me.
Like you though, it's a bit concerning that details on this are very sparse.
Not surprised, but Cogen: Sword of Rewind is not listed for January 2022, which is by far my most anticipated game right now. Despite the fact that it has a playable demo out right now and looks to be a very good game, literally no one is talking about it right now. And I just can’t understand it.
I think the link for Train Sim World 2 could do with fixing, that version is going to be a little difficult to pop into the drive lol
I can't help but think that Sony is missing a big "hollidays game".
@Gladio Agree. Nintendo’s racked them up this year and Xbox has Halo and Forza. Sony doesn’t have a big title for the holidays that isn’t multiplatform. It’s strange. Sony’s had excellent exclusives this year, but it’s baffling that they didn’t save any AAA exclusive for the end of year.
@Gladio Agreed. It seems that this entire Q3 Q4 2021 is all about Xbox with Halo and Forza.
A Hat in Time physical is a great game if you haven't played already.
Chorus for me.
Space shooters have been neglected for years.
Sad holiday season for gaming imo
Has no one kinda twigged that Heavenly Bodies will be a December PS Plus Game????
Released on the 7th an no pre-order available on PS store.
@LazyLombax I'm hoping that's just the physical price, digital should be alot more reasonable ($10-$15 maybe?)
They won't list the digital price sadly until release day.
@hoffa007 They have it listed as the 21st because that's when the UK gets Among Us.
The US is still scheduled to release the game on the 14th.
Hard pass for me on both months, I need to be saving my money for buying Christmas gifts for my family anyways.
@KidBoruto ah OK well many outlets like Amazon and Game are displaying the 14th so not sure why those release dates would display that if it is the 21st.
@hoffa007 This should explain the situation better...
