I'd love a series of sonic collections like they did on GameCube.
So origins being 8 and 16 bit (need to add sonic spinball) and 32 bit (sonic 3d, R and fighters)
Then an advance era (Advance 1-3 and battle, throw in rush and rush adventure for good luck)
Then finally a Dreamcast/ GameCube era (SA 1&2, heroes, shadow and maybe even shuffle for fun)

Most of these were only purchasable on the 3ds which has now closed the eShop, so great they are being made available again.
I also understood that for most games the gamegear version was considered better? Could be wrong though.
Finally - and it's probably a matter of money/time. Only a handful were on Master system, so then you end up with two sets of emulation to develop. Would be nice to have the full set but this is better than nothing

I am excited. The first game was criminally underplayed. It was a great game with interesting mechanics

If Astro Bot doesn't get a port I will riot/be mildy frustrated.
I never got the first PSVR but really wanted to play that, especially after the PS5 game was sooo fun

Yeah if those figures are correct the publisher really missed the mark.
Plus it's only been out one month. They need to keep drumming up hype and making sure people buy it over time. Especially given global inflation right now
I wonder if anyone knows on average how much of a games lifetime sales happen in the first month though?

I think Phantasia is a must have. It pains me it's not available on anything and hasn't for years!

I would love to see some of the older games pre-symponia, but the PS3 games were also great and it's a shame they are not accessible...

It really feels like Sony are trying to go the Nintendo route and holding the price of first party games for as long as possible now. The latest games, even last of us 2 Don't see discounts as quickly, or often or as deep as they used to be.

Think it's more likely going to be the retro route. Would be amazing if they can somehow unlock your existing PS3 purchases. They might get stuck behind licencing issues

I would love this. It would ease my fears of not being backwards compatible somewhat if it had this killer app!

It's funny how people keep saying Sony don't have a game pass equivalent, but ps Now is basically that but more old games, no new first party games.
It's actually pretty great and I noticed a lot of the games on gamepass also end up on psNow

I don't currently own a VR, but plan to get the next gen one. Hoping for backwards compatibility!

Think about Nintendo. They rarely discount their first party games and if you're lucky enough it's only 30% off.
I can see platform holders trying to keep the value on their exclusives while they can. I do find it crazy (but also love it) that games go down in price so quickly.

Nice guide.
I was always a big fan of Umbrella Chronicles, I think it gets a bad rap. Definitely better than RE6.
Dark side chronicles I thought was crap. Canara was way too jerky - it was impossible to aim

I am actually one of the crazy people who bought a polymega - but this is mainly for the Saturn games.

It's a great idea to build and/or sell the emulator. Then you can also sell the games digitally, but if you have the disk you are great. Plus it opens up publishers being able to release limited runs again. Imagine squenix releasing ff7 again on PS1!

Bit disappointed but not a surprise.

If we can't download from there need to work out if there's a way to back everything up on a hard drive...

Makes me wonder what the lifetime sales are of the other games? It explains why they don't put much effort into porting anything else

I only ever use my phone to use the internet so everything is taken from there.
But generally I find them just not that easy to navigate. I think you guys have an article template and are building it into that. For me it needs a bit more bespoke like the IGN wiki template (when it works) or how gamefaqs works when it's a html base (so contents and navigation in drop downs etc)

This is my go to site for PlayStation news, and more recently reviews as well. I also like the round ups you do.

Frankly you and Nintendo life are my go to websites. So pleased purexbox got relaunched too.

He's probably shot himself in the foot here. I think a lot of companies will have policies on resell. They can't stop influencers doing it but they'll think twice about sending him free things in the future

I hope Sony are learning from Microsoft and trying to fix some of them! I doubt it but there's some first party games on there so there's no excuse!

I love the idea but I feel like it will be too much effort and eventually dropped... Needs people to use it a lot!

It also means Microsoft can stop production of the current gen entirely and get much better pricing on parts for the new gen and turn a profit quicker.

Yeah like others here I loved the 2008 reboot. Tried sands of time but just couldn't get into it...

Haha, to be fair I agree. My problem is there are so many 8-9/10 games that there's just not time for "good" games.
For me unfortunately a 6/10 isn't worth the time 😞

I read a few people saying this is as bad as Anthem. I played that beta too but not the main game, my feeling is that gameplay wise - yes this is just as bad. But a lot more thought has gone into the story and that feels a lot more interesting.
Based on the beta alone anthem was 6/10 for me, this is 7/10

This was bound to happen. As people have already pointed out games have been at $60 for nearly 10 years now.
Just think about how wages have changed in the last 10 years alone. Plus all the additional costs of development that weren't there before, new console to work around etc etc.
I think generally we undervalue games (myself included) - especially if you compare to films.

I'm a huge fan of the series so also really excited for this game, but I get very overwhelmed with how many great games are out there that I want to play and a delay means more time to make it great and more time for me to catch up.

Kinda pleased. Only just got to Tales of Berseria... Which is great. But wanted a bit of a break before the next one.

Also more time for my backlog is always good

I hope for a 4th but I hope they approach it differently.
The third game needed to be a call back and be super nostalgic but 4 needs to bring the game to the 21st century and modernise things - and offer some way of catching up on 1-3 to keep the story open to new people

More and more I'm starting to think it's a company's responsibility (as well as a good business decision) to make their back catalogue available. Think what Capcom have done with the RE series by making them available on every console ever. Makes things so much more accessible.

This is great news. I think they released too many games before. It was just too hard to keep up. Less releases/more variety in game play is the way forward
