Honestly don’t know what you guys are smoking - I think DLSS 5 looks fantastic. Not just this image but many others I’ve seen just look so much more realistic. There may be a couple of edge cases early on where the original artistic intent is altered a bit, but that won’t be the case once devs are creating with it in mind. I’ve not heard anything but praise from the devs using it so far.

@Quintumply I can’t say I’ve ever read a gameplay guide ever, but I do take a glance at trophy guides before starting a game, just in case there are any missable ones. I don’t really like replaying games. Have you ever considered doing trophy guides as part of the game guide? These are developer given challenges, so I don’t really consider a game finished if I don’t have all the trophies (not that I finish most sets as I tend to get distracted by the next game I want to play a lot of the time).

Never understood why people would want to remove incomplete trophies. Is it to get an artificially high completion percentages? For me trophies are all about providing extra challenges, which are enjoyable even if you don’t do all of them, and also providing a nice historic record to look through and remember the game better.

My trophy completion percentage is only 40.39, so I definitely wouldn’t consider myself a trophy hunter to be fair, but I just never understood this need to remove an honest log. I have a lot of games where I only have one trophy and then decided the game was rubbish, and that’s a valuable reminder also.

Also, this does mean we have wallpapers now doesn’t it? It removes all those annoying widgets so you just see the images you take. And now it even rotates through your images…

This is actually what I wanted from the hub. I had to take all my game screenshots with the focus shifted to one side because you could only remove so many widgets. And I have so many shots from beautiful games like Claire Obscur and Stella Blade that I’d like to have on rotation if I leave my console idle. Good job.

That’s good, but it would be better if they patch out their post release censorship. Performance was fine…eventually.

Well, I just rage quit Clair Obscur because after 90 minutes of fighting Osquio, it turns out it all comes down to a single QTE that relies on timing for a move you’ve never f-ing encountered before. Might have to take a break to avoid having to replaster some walls. Going to go read a book to calm down.

Makes complete sense to port VR games like this into 2D. It will be inferior of course, but will open up a wider market.

Great. Any proper game in VR is immediately of interest to me. Would prefer if it wasn’t yet another horror game and something more lighthearted though.

I tend to check psprices before buying most games, so I figure I’ve got a good chance of spotting a discrepancy. I wouldn’t pay more than someone else if spotted:

There is no contradictory information. There are self serving rumours that have now been shown to be wrong, and accurate information from a platform itself. I’m quite happy about this actually, the longer it takes to release new tech the more we’ll get out of the existing machines where we haven’t yet scratched the surface of their capabilities.

£1.60 a month. For a game. Thats great. Add in the ability to stream all my games to my Portal, and its an unmissable deal.

I think some people have real trouble understanding how the Premium subscription is broken down, and feel / imagine they are paying a third of the cost per band or something. It’s £1.60 max price people! The price of an admittedly overpriced chocolate bar per month. Stop your complaining and gain some perspective.

£1000 is pretty ridiculous. Certainly not mass market. At that point, I would just make it £1500, but give “free” Gamepass for 12 years and a credit scheme to pay for it. Then make it upgradable with parts manufactured by MS themselves.
I don’t see PC players moving to this box unless it’s upgradable, certainly that price.

I’m always puzzled by this sentiment. Seems to be just a way of hiding a puritanical streak. I mean, we don’t hear people say, “why have music in a game when it’s not as good as a concert”, “why ask for good cinematics when you can just go to the cinema”, “why ask for a good story when books are so much better”, etc, etc.

Having other means of “getting your rocks off” (not that I think for a second people are doing that!) doesn’t mean you can’t also have sexualised content in a video game. Especially not when the world and narrative makes it suitable.

Hopefully they can keep them without fear of criticism. Society has gone to crap but not that much, surely.

A competing “console”/box is going to have steam. Thus Sony can’t release all their games there.

What a shame. This was a definite buy for me as long as it was shaping up as it looked to be.

Shame, I love a good roguelike with a nice progression system. Still, if it’s castlevania then it should stay castlevania-like

Sure. An option to have a difficulty mode with assists disabled, for example, would be great, and would really improve the trophy campaign if you needed this mode for the platinum.

Surely once it reaches a true critical mass we have to start getting the right to return/trade/sell? Until this happens digital will always be a rip off, and I’ll continue to wait until a game is £25 or bellow before buying it.

I just learnt that there is a bloody invincibility mode available from the start, and it doesn’t even lock off trophy challenges. Can anyone confirm? This would be annoying (and yes, I know I can theoretically ignore it, before anyone makes that comment).

Not sure I’d trust my connection long enough for a bullet hell game, and I love my portal.

Looks like a game I’d happily spend that kind of money on, but also a game where I can wait for a sale, which it inevitably will get after a couple of months…

Phenomenal kit that’s the highlight of the generation. So many games that make it worth the outlay. Will be incredibly sad if there’s no PSVR3. Will likely go PC at that point.

Put it in VR and I’m in. Afraid I just can’t go back now.

Exactly. Rinse and repeat with randoms is not my style, but the gunplay and visuals look good so I’d certainly try it if there was proper single player narrative and progression involved.

That’s the thing, the games are shorter yes, but so much cheaper. Much better bang for your buck over most flat games.

Slightly helpful I guess. Much, much better would be to show its lowest ever price.

So much better than its flat screen sequel. VR elevates the game to something majestic. And yes, a very fun platinum.

She doesn’t know anything about gaming or the gaming community. Don’t expect social media messaging from her to make sense for now.

Couldn’t resist Clair Obscur an any longer. Such a great game! I thought it might be overhyped, but not a bit of it.

The hope is that these are kids who, otherwise, would never have gotten into any games, and when they grow up they get into proper gaming, thus increasing the gaming player base.
It may be a faint hope, but time will tell if this social hangout rubbish is a good or bad thing for the existence of the real gaming industry.

Lots of reasons “to keep your PSVR2” but, given this site’s ever incomplete list of upcoming releases, it’s clear they just don’t bother finding out about them.

Ps premium is £80.39 for a year. I’d probably pay up to a hundred before I consider dropping it. Just looking at what I’ve payed, plus the ability to stream everything to the Portal, it’s decent value.

Hopefully Sony looks to get more money from existing gamers by releasing more great games rather than more live service stuff, but I doubt it.

And this is why the PS5 extreme throughput advantage hasn’t yet been put to good use despite its huge potential to reduce the amount that needs to be rendered at once.

These games should always be in VR now; superior to the original tech, whereas this is inferior.

Definitely retain them. I’ve got so many games to play I can quite easily just skip these remakes out of principle if they start treating me with such disrespect.

If it’s not worth the money to port it for a small user base then they won’t…

Sorry, but no. Playing though a campaign story with someone, such as I’m currently doing with Split Fiction which I’m playing with the wife, is completely different to just having access to a challenge mode. Regardless of whether this is from the start or after finishing the game. If this was not clear at time of purchase then they should refund.

I do like the films. Hopefully this isn’t like John wick 2, where he seems to have an 8bit moveset, and just rolls on the ground 90% of the action run time doing the same thing over and over.

Great. I can’t remember where I got, but I played it a good couple of dozen hours. Great game, god awful combat. I do remember the menus being laggy, hopefully this helps.

I loved the original. Played it so much in the arcades and then refined my runs on PS1. It can’t work with a reticule though. The only tech that can do this game justice and better the original is VR, and Sony sadly don’t seem interested.

Good, but no VR sadly. Wasn’t expecting John Wick, could be cool. And the jrpg looked good. Getting excited for Saros as well, I like me a roguelike.

Also really happy about having the good GoW back! Hope it isn’t re-imagined for modern “sensibilities”

Still planing to pick this up at some point when on heavy sale. Hopefully they would have fixed some of the bugs if they haven’t already.

How can they massacre one of the greatest gaming franchises of all time? Shame on them.

Neva looks great. Had enough of Spider-Man after platting the first, then getting about 90mims into MM. Can’t really play racers outside of.VR anymore, I’ve been spoiled.

Catch up? Left behind? I’m confused, is this going to be some type of live service focused game?

Got split fiction to play with the wife. We’ll see how she likes it.
