Average. Which is a shame. But they didn’t fix the ridiculous level scaling, which is a devastating blow to the quality of the late game. Didn’t even fix the issue of quest rewards scaling. It just removes all sense of consistency and presence in the game, and all sense of progression for your character. It’s the one thing I wanted fixed above all else, far more than some shiny graphics, and they completely neglected it.
@Godot25
Then I’d expect you to understand lol. For me long games on subscription just makes no sense. I’ve already been stung by a couple of games leaving the service mid play. Then I begrudge buying them as it feels somewhat manipulative, and they already have the price tag of free in my head. I keep saying it, but I do think I’ll likely let my sub lapse. I plan on playing KC2, CE, and Pirate Yakuza as my next three games, and think they’ll take me over 6 months to completely finish them all.
@Godot25 You sound young or blessed. I get maybe an hour a day to play, some days I can’t at all. As a result long RPGs literally can take me months to finish. That’s about £25 of PSN time. Which is more than I’d pay by buying it and trading it after.
“So just to be clear the missables are: Prologue: Lumiere Music Record gotten by defeating the mime before going to the docks Spend a ticket for an ancient key from the blue dress lady before talking to your sister and making your speech (for a journal entry later on) Act 1-3 Nevron quest (always follow their orders, like killing him, do it) Maelle Level 7 (Act 2) dont lie to her Grosse Tete Whack (unrespawnable lvl 65 enemy) (Monocos skill very late game in the Coastal Cave) but just to be safe keep Monoco in your party if theres an enemy with a skill you can take”
Continuing public service announcement that this “list” is simply not researched by Pushsquare, who seemingly know nothing about the VR release schedule. We’ve all tried so many times to give them a real list and have just given up as we are repeatedly ignored. Pushsquare, for some reason, simply don’t want you to know about all the great games releasing on PSVR2.
I hate playing longer games like this on a subscription service. Not only do you have to worry about it leaving before you are finished, but you are also burning away your subscription days on just the one game. If a game takes a few months to get through you might as well just buy it at that point.
@Jaz007 In general, if any story is written specifically with sexual relationships, removing them damages the story, as it would be damaged by removing any other aspect of character interaction. Although someone above said this had kids being sexualised which makes me think the game should never see the light of day in any incarnation.
Wouldn’t pay that for my most anticipated games. Certainly not digitally where you are restricted from being able to get any value back once finished. So would I pay it for what is often a years old port at this point? You’re joking right?
@Lowdefal
All it shows is that there will always be people who won’t research enough to find out content has been stolen from them, and so buy anyway. And of course patches are often released afterwards on PC, because it’s often the only way not to risk a games release due to archaic, puritanical, rules.
Square are never happy with sales numbers and the CO sales numbers will not convince them, especially when up against Oblivion which sold way more (albeit with other reasons contributing). For what it’s worth though, I would love FF to go back to turn based, especially if rumours of a FF9 remake are true.
@Michael2008ish It’s not that bad now maybe. Get 15/20hrs in and immersion is completely broken, you wish you had not finished quests as rewards scale with level, and you wonder what the point of those last 15hrs were as you are no stronger than before, relatively.
The enemy scaling has always been terrible, as has been agreed since the original release.
Working on the completionism for LaD Ishin. Just a little left to tidy up for the plat.
Had planned to play Oblivion Remaster until I learnt they, incredibly, hadn’t fixed the level scaling.
Would have been one extra here if they had bothered to fix the ridiculously broken enemy scaling. Probably the most complained about aspect of the original, with the easiest fix, and they buggered it.
The enemy scaling and (to a lesser extent) quest reward item scaling really killed much of my enthusiasm. They somewhat fixed the character levelling system but left the rest unchanged as far as I can tell. Shame. Might pick it up when on deep discount.
Modders have already fixed this on PC of course, but without official mod support we console players are left with a bit of a missed opportunity.
Unfortunately the enemy and enemy equipment scaling is still in place, as is loot scaling. So no, although tempted, I likely won’t place it. Why they couldn’t just go back to the Morrowind system baffles me.
But has the levelling been fixed? If not it’s a pointless excuse of a game.
Edit: looks like there is a new levelling system! Eagerly awaiting details 😁
Edit 2: Seems they are going an oblivion / Skyrim hybrid root, meaning there is still enemy scaling unfortunately. Losing hope, but will still await details with anticipation.
@PlatinumMikey I didn’t care about that either. I’m referring to the levelling system that actively discouraged you from levelling the skills you wanted to focus on for your build, and the enemy scaling that both completely broke immersion and made levelling pointless.
Could do with more cult of the lamb. Had to stop with the original though because of the ridiculous number of crashes, so maybe better play testing is in order.
Strange the ps+ version doesn’t qualify for the upgrade. I mean, I understand what they say, but surely £10 from many millions of ps+ owners Is better than full price from people who have wanted to play the game but never got around to it, even though it was on ps+, or those who bought it previously and have played it as much as they wanted? I just don’t see the market there for a full price release when not much has changed, but do see the market for a £10 upgrade path. Maybe £15 with the new mode.
Going back to the seal grind in Ishin. Been a couple of years. By far the worst trophy campaign of all the (usually excellent) Yakuza examples. Their remade systems really screwed things up. Still, I won’t let this be the only one I haven’t finished, and still got some fun things to do too.
@Deljo
Maybe a bit of confirmation bias on your side? If you really care that much you can actually read all of my past comments on here and see that what you feel is demonstrably not the case. So the question actually becomes one of why does an occasional comment praising VR games create such an oversized impression with you? I take it you simply have a very different opinion. And that’s fine. This is a place for opinions after all.
For what it’s worth, I do play a decent percentage of games in VR these days, so it does seem natural for me to post on VR and other gaming articles sometimes. If VR doesn’t enter your life you can just ignore those comments.
@Lysterao Surely they know when the licenses will expire, in which case they should let us know before purchase. If anything it will help them sell copies with the whole FOMO thing.
@DanteDevilHunter
I’d still prefer to get it physically so it’s a fraction of the cost. A slight increase in convenience isn’t worth paying 10 times as much. If they ever let us trade / sell our digital games then it would be different, but as of now digital gaming is wastefully expensive unless you buy in a deep discount
I wish I could enjoy this game. Especially after all the great reviews led me to buy it digitally for more than I would normally buy a non tradable game. Unfortunately the constant feeling that I’m missing things - well, the knowledge that I am in some instances - just leads me to not.

Milking it a bit. Should have been a trilogy.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for May 2025?
Well, Balatro makes it objectively a good month. I have it though so not too happy because they other two games are not my thing.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 579
Still going for the Ishin plat. Lots of little bits to do, minigames and equipment smithing mainly.
Re: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Trophy Guide: All Trophies and How to Get the Platinum
From what I’ve read there are missable trophies:
“So just to be clear the missables are:
Prologue:
Lumiere Music Record gotten by defeating the mime before going to the docks
Spend a ticket for an ancient key from the blue dress lady before talking to your sister and making your speech (for a journal entry later on)
Act 1-3
Nevron quest (always follow their orders, like killing him, do it)
Maelle Level 7 (Act 2) dont lie to her
Grosse Tete Whack (unrespawnable lvl 65 enemy) (Monocos skill very late game in the Coastal Cave) but just to be safe keep Monoco in your party if theres an enemy with a skill you can take”

Underage? Oh, I must have missed that part! Yes, In which case it may have been a poor word choice, apologies.
I don’t know the game, but surely they can’t have lewd behaviour with kids?! Even back in the 90s that wouldn’t have been allowed!
Are you sure you aren’t mistaken? Do you know their ages?

Pointless to release the censored version of a game readily available unmolested.

Completely remove the enemy scaling. Increase the difficulty of enemies in some areas.

Useful for when the music balance is off. Will probably try it.
