Seems like a Gamepass game. Flashy, shallow, short, not worth buying but fleshes out a catalogue.
Shame, because I was/am very interested in the original for the character development / story , but strikes me as a game that didn’t need a sequel.

Good to know. Doesn’t also come with new trophy challenges connected to these activities?

This is all getting absolutely ridiculous. If the disgraceful U.K. government requires these overreaching verifications then at least do it at the platform level rather than providing yet another way for a multitude of companies to profit from skimming our data.

I have no interest in this particular game, but it will become quickly commonplace.

Erm…no, it really isn’t. Nothing is lost on death, difficulty levels (and easy ones)…I mean, it has combat and bosses but that’s it. I don’t think that’s all that’s required to make something a souls like, but I guess there are no comprehensive definitions for these things.

Stella blade this weekend I think. Haven’t had the best time with new games recently. Had a brief foray into Diablo 4 before realising the enemy scaling made the whole thing pointless, then started Cyberpunk only to realise they’d made a post release censorship patch for the nudity, which pissed me off to the point I don’t want play it right now. Might dip into Eiyuden Chronicle as I’m a good way in and really enjoying it. Maybe some Monster Train 2 as there are some things on YouTube I want to listen too and it’s a pretty mindless but fun game.

As you’ve already been told, revenue and profit are two very different things.

They all want to keep people locked into their “platform”, and are likely all getting ready to add their own payment platforms within them too if the short sited courts require Sony et al to allow “competition”.

All it shows is that Microsoft bought some publishers. It’s only Forza that wasn’t originally multiplat.

You are correct my friend, just downloaded Proton VPN to my iPhone for free. Works perfectly.

Will probably have to pay for a VPN to get around this. Until I decide which one, I did find out it is very simple to just google “proxy” and you can bypass the identification requirement of several adult sites (sadly not all). So, as a temporary and inconvenient option I’ll do that rather than take photos of game characters

Damn-it! Started playing Cyberpunk to find out it’s been censored (I watched my mate play some near release so know exactly what’s been done with NPCs and own character). Now I’ve just got pissed off and lost all motivation to play it. They really chickened out. The worst possible game to add censorship to.

To advertise heavily as not being censored, then stealth hit us with massive censorship evident after only hours of play, possibly after the dlc has been purchased, is extremely insulting to me.

One piece of good news, I did find out about this patched in censorship before I purchased the phantom liberty city expansion. Was about to pull the trigger. Managed not to waste £25.

Btw, they didn’t patch out all the bugs. Got soft locked out of progress from the very first mission. Luckily had a save I could revert to. Good to see their priorities.

Not sure where you’re based, but it’s not a new discussion or concern in the US. For a UK based story, maybe not relevant.

I believe, not particularly in the UK but the US, a lot of the lobbying for greater control of the internet is from the conservative right. And given the lack of clarity of what is harmful, there are legitimate fears that this could negatively impact the LGBTQ community. Especially with the current administration. Not sure I’ve heard anything similar regarding this U.K. version of the law though.

It was a hypothetical based on a very specific situation posited by someone else, and mentioned merely as a less bad option than another worse option. The guy I was having a conversation with understood, so maybe you shouldn’t jump in without reading or understanding things fully (I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt that this is the case, and you aren’t just being deliberately provocative for fun).

Then we’ll just agree to disagree. I see nothing wrong with porn, or what you term, promiscuity, as long as it goes along with the education that stops the diseases you mention; and whilst it isn’t good if young boys and girls expect such advance behaviour from young, inexperienced, people, that is also covered under education (not just sexual but moral).
As for being “desensitised”, as you put it…I don’t think opening a persons eyes to possibilities is a bad thing.
But I see we’ll never agree on these things, so I’ll just thank you for a polite and thoughtful debate.

If an 18 year old, or older, was ever in a position to take part in a gangb**g, to use your example, I would much rather he/she encountered the filming of one at 13, and then was taught about consent and safety, rather than never having had such an education and being thrown in the deep end (no pun intended). The only people who would disagree are those who think such things are inherently bad and that the very thought or sight of one might corrupt a person and make them bad.

So, seems you do just want to see an end to porn, ideally, right? Even for adults? Could this be biasing your opinion in some way?

Definitely worth the £20. Or I think it’s free on Gamepass.

If you played the original it’s pretty identical. Some new mechanics in terms of being able to add equipment to units and rooms, but I do miss not being able to merge units.

A much larger choice of clans, including all the original ones, some having some fun mechanics and synergies.

Overall though more of the same great game.

Stopped playing Diablo 4 and deleted it due to the enemy scaling making the whole thing pointless in single player. Might start Cyberpunk if I feel like it. Mainly still on the 3 games that I’ve been working through in the background for a while: Pirate yakuza, Eiyunder Chronicle, and Monster Train 2.

Ok, I’m up for it, as long as there is no requirement to be online with others and you lose nothing (other than the social aspect) from not doing so.

If it has roguelike elements then sure. If you have to keep starting the same story over and over again to see some minor differences, then screw that, I’m not 14 any more.

Well, franchises basically have almost free publicity, I get that, I’ll always get every Yakuza/Like a Dragon game; but sequels can also suffer if the original games were just mediocre, especially if those were hyped or on a sub service.

He seems to argue for playing safe as a dev, but for me the industry is too safe already, with nothing to attract me (that I haven’t seen before). And this game is under that category too.

Plus, yes, far too big a backlog for me, and for kids this is even worse as all their time is taken up with one social game, whether that be Fortnite, FIFA, COD, Roblox, or GTA.

For me the best gaming market is VR. Everything feels fresh, and the games have a reasonable play length to go with a reasonable price. Outside of that I do play smaller Indy games, especially roguelites I can dip in and out of. It just suits my lifestyle better at this point, and its hard to commit to being locked into a game for 100hrs when there are so many others to get through.

What I would like is to revert to the supreme controls of FIFA 14. Past that the benefits of superior skill was nerfed. Manual through balls, lobs etc were just too powerful in the right hands it seemed. Guessing they just had to even everything out as multiplayer online became more and more profitable.

Will get a couple million more when it drops to a more acceptable price for a port of such an old game. I know I’ll be one.

Yep, my reaction exactly. Except I kind of also expected it for an Extra stealth drop.

Eiyuden chronicle, Pirate Yakuza, maybe some Monster Train 2. And maybe some Diablo 4. Too many games on the go at the moment but I’ll see what I feel like.

In gaming these days, strange is always good. There is too much “same old”. Or maybe I’m just getting old.

Still waiting on a decent sale for a few of those games. Hopefully in time…

Really not seeing the offence here. Nobody will mind, including the original devs, unless they have serious developmental problems.

This is a fantastic VR game. Really enjoyed it. Not sure it needs a remaster though.

Even at a ridiculous price it sells. It’ll likely sell triple that eventually, when people don’t feel like they’re being ripped off paying full price for a port of such an old game. I know I’ll likely give it a go.

Extra’s great just for cyberpunk. Premium - well I need it to stream Eijuden Chronicle to the Portal, so it is what it is.

I’m always tempted, but I was stung by getting a previous one which had extremely restrictive timing requirements if you wanted to 100% the game. I’ve heard that’s not the case anymore but there are so many I never bothered researching it.

Ok. I'm great with “own pace” gameplay and only doing what you want moment to moment, that flexibility is great - as long as nothing is missable. That’s what ruined BG3 for me. At heart I’m a completionist and I don’t want to have to play a game 10 times, or use a guide, to see everything; but if a game lets me go back at the end to mop things up then great.

The dark one looks ok. If you have it verticle and facing you. The gold not so much. Although it might have been better if they changed the blue LED to be golden.

For me the main downside is lack of time. No point even having great games on the service if they’ll be gone before I can finish them. To resolve this, and keep me on the service, I’d like a massive discount on games about to leave the service for anyone who has had an active sub for 1yr +. With say, an 30 day timer until it leaves. And I mean like 90% off. After all, they already gave us the game on the sub, just throw us a bone if we don’t have the time to get to it.

Nearly bought Cyberpunk multiple times, so a genuinely good month for me just for that. But now I’ll have to play and finish it before it leaves. I give it until December /Christmas.

If Sony come up with and implement the trophies then why the hell do some games not have them? (Ridge Racer Type 4!). Do some devs not give permission?

Tried to give Diablo 4 a go. At first I was happy that it seems the DLC is included as well (rarity for PS Plus). Then I tried to play. Lagging everywhere. A single player game. Forced online, lagging all over the place to the point it’s unplayable for me. Sure, I’m using the PS5 in the bedroom that isn’t hardwired. I could switch to the other and drag my arse to the living room, but it’s already put such a bad taste in my mouth that they do this for a single player game that I don’t want to give them any more “engagement hours” for their stats. They can screw themselves. Lots of other games to play.

Eiyuden Chronicle and Pirate Yakuza this weekend. And many into the future. Maybe a bit of Monster Train 2.

Not opposed to mobile games, but not reflex based ones. Connection just isn’t reliable enough and touchscreen movement not accurate or comfortable. Also not if it is free to play with microtransactions. Also I’d want Sony to connect it to PSN for the trophy challenge metagame.
